Immigrants come from distinct parts around America, many of their cultures are from around the world. The United States clearly states in the constitution that everyone, despite their cultural background, has the freedom of speech. Categorization by characteristics from ancestral experiences sets many families and workers apart from American workers by how they identify themselves from their place of origin. Despite differences, individuals who travel to America want to pursue a dream, but are being ostracized based on their culture and cannot find employment. In this post-modern society the act of seeing individuals being discriminated against sets off red flags, making society fight for the rights of those being discriminated against. Our American society unfairly discriminates immigration of cultural ethnicity in the workforce and based on geographical locations.

There is a general concern for the human rights of all employees in the work place, due to the demographic changes in ethnic, religious, and racial tensions in the world this brings a challenge to the government and employers to find solutions in diversity and discrimination issues. Discrimination may be appeared to be prevalent, this may cause unemployment. Anti-discrimination policies have been employed to combat discrimination in the workplace, however nothing has been done to analyse the policy. This paper will examine whether the anti-discrimination legislation is effective in the workplace to provide a fair working environment.

Abstract- Racial discrimination happens all the time and most of us are unaware of it. The most common place for this to happen is in the workplace. Now people can be discriminated against because of their race, religion, or any other numerous things. Also, discrimination can occur during the job interview or even after you got the job. This paper will shoe the effects of racial discrimination and how it can be prevented. In addition there are some very important laws that deal specifically with discrimination, like the NAACP or Affirmative Action. These both will be discussed.

Introduction Racial discrimination is defined as “when a person is treated less favorably than another person in a similar situation because of their race, color, descent, national or ethnic origin or immigrant status” (Thomas). Racial discrimination in the workplace is a real problem in our world today. Not only is it against the Constitution, but it is morally and ethically wrong. Throughout history, many people have fought for equality among races, and the fact that racism is still an issue in our country today is proof that the United States still has a lot to change. Racism is an issue that has been going on in our country since slavery first began in the United States in 1619 (Slavery). That’s over 400 years ago. Racism is prevalent in many workplaces, and those who are in the minority experience inequality through payment, promotion, and treatment.

Employment discrimination strikes numerous gatherings of people and has been going on for a long time. In the U.S., this type of discrimination happens at whatever point a business or its delegates purposely single out representatives or candidates on the premise of age, race, sex, sexual introduction, incapacity, religion and an assortment of different reasons. Laws have been readied to debilitate segregation from happening. Rise to circumstances laws plan to make a level playing field with the goal that individuals are utilized, paid, prepared and advanced simply because of their aptitudes, capacities and how they carry out their occupation. Despite popular belief, discrimination occurs every day worldwide. It occurs for different reasons, but is detrimental to any company or individual. The judgments that occur based on physical appearance, height, weight, gender, and race are affecting the potential professional careers of many. Many companies are limiting their full potential due to the fact that they are discriminating interviewees and employees based upon physical traits. It lessens the chances of developing a strong staff due to the stereotypes and generalizations that discrimination lends itself to. Great candidates are being turned away due to the false pretenses that discrimination brings. Although there are laws and organizations protecting the rights of workers, there has not been a stop put to discrimination.

The UK, India, and Canada already have forms of affirmative action in place in their countries. It could be beneficial in America to use parts of affirmative action. The solution to workplace discrimination in America is affirmative action because it forces governments and businesses to favor members of a discriminated group in our American culture.
