I never wanted to be a Mother. Yet here I find myself in love with my three year old son, more and more everyday. He learns from me as much as I learn from him and he has given me so much in his little life. The statement that people are only successful if they attend college gets thrown around a lot. And I don’t agree with it completely, But I also believe it depends a lot on what situation you’re in and what you want your professional career to be. Almost every single day in High School I got told that you’ll only be successful in life if you attend college. If you want to be a Doctor or a Lawyer you have to attend college obviously, but if you have connections and are friends with people they could end up offering you a decent paying job without taking on a bunch of debate. Attending college in Montana is important to me for a variety of reasons. I have many friends and family that are attending colleges all over Montana and I would like to stay close to them! I also have a lineage in Montana going back generations on both sides, so it would be very meaningful to me to stay in my home state. Many people view college as their gate way to a job; furthering their education with a higher pay instinctive in mind. The fact of the matter is, this way of thinking is very logical. In today’s society especially in the U.S. it is hard to get a job without having a degree. However, I prefer to view college as an opportunity to cultivate our God given gifts and talents. Students focus on a specific trade/skill and become educated to they can effectively work in their field. College is well worth it, especially when a person is studying in a field that suites them.

To run a business I would need at a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. However, most people go on to also get a MBA, (Master’s of Business Administration). To obtain these degrees it would take me about six years. For, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, I would have to spend four years at a university. To receive an MBA, I would have to move onto graduate school and spend two years there.

My mother and father have always taught my sister and I about the importance of furthering our education. Both my parents have never received a college degree; nevertheless, they still worked hard in their respected fields to become a regular middle class family. When my sister applied to colleges, it proved challenging to receive scholarship options since my family doesn’t qualify for many grants or scholarships due to where we fit into the class system. Therefore, because of the struggles my sister went through, I was able to have a realistic goal about where I could continue my education since I knew not going attending college was not an option.

College is important to me because I feel that your education is something that can never be taken away from you. College is also important to be because it will open up more opportunities for me for my future and prepare me for the real world. College is one of the best investments you can make for yourself. I don’t think there are ever any negative outcome of attending college it’s one of the best things that you can do for yourself. My expectations for the university are that they will give me the best education possible and help prepare me the best they can for my future career. I expect the university to be there for me while I’m attending their school and help me in any way that they can and I know that they will based on their excellent

I want to go to college because of the examples my siblings have been able to set for me. Growing up, my parents always had higher expectations for all my siblings and I . Knowing that my siblings were able to achieve and exceed my parents expectations makes me want to work just as hard as them. I want to follow in my siblings footsteps and set an example for my younger siblings. College is my opportunity to attain the higher education I always wanted to have. I know that going to college will give me the experience and knowledge I need to have a successful future. Going to college better prepares me and makes me qualified to do the job I aspire to do in the future. I feel that college is the right place for me because it will train me for my future career.

As time keeps ticking away, I inquired whether if college is the right pick for me in general. My parents expressed to me all my life that I was obligated to go to college regardless of what I did unless I wanted the public to eschew me. I am still sentient with this idea to a degree, but times are altering. I decided to select this college not only of the awareness of others viewing me as an outcast if I do not go to college, but because I wanted to be there.

Attending college for me was already a big deal because none of my siblings nor my mother have a accomplished this goal, but finding the right college and the right major for me was the hardest decision that I had to make. As a little child I knew I wanted to attend college and play a sport, so I always assumed that it would be for something in the sports field, and now in my sophomore year at Saint Peter's University I can see that it is time for a change. I want to pursue a field in social work at the university of Rutgers, I came to the conclusion because growing up I didn't have the best childhood as most children. I think having a college education is valuable, but not everyone think it’s valuable. I really do think going to college is the best way, it may not be for everyone, but if you want your dreams to come true that can be possible happen with hard work like owning or working for companies and business then you should go to college. College education is valuable because you get more money, you get more job opportunities, and it can let you choose who you want to be if you studied it while you’re here.

In 7th grade I was accepted to the AVID program. I knew it was supposed to prepare you for college and also put you on the track to college but coming from a family where neither of my parents went to college and my brothers were on the fence leaning more towards no, I wasn’t sure if college was the choice for me and if I did go I had no idea what I would study. I knew that I needed to go because higher education leads to higher paying jobs and hopefully a better life.
