Walt Disney World and Disneyland have been in a continuous debate over whether which park tops the other one. Disneyland resides in the sunny Anaheim, California. Disneyland and California Adventure are the two parks that travelers and locals can experience in Orange County. 2,506 some miles away lies Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World has four different parks to adventure. Walt Disney World also includes 25 plus hotels. Based on personal experience and opinion, I am a proud supporter that Walt Disney World tops Disneyland by a landslide. Walt Disney World has much more amenities and thematic features than Disneyland. Even though Walt Disney World and Disneyland have multiple differences, they are more alike than they are different. Even though Disneyland was built under Walt’s production, Disneyland and Magic Kingdom both have the same layout. Both entrances lead into Main Street, U.S.A, the Space Mountains’ are on the bottom right hand of the park, Adventureland is on the bottom left, and Frontierland is in the left hand corner. Next, both parks have parades. One parade that is most popular between the two is the lights parade. Floats and characters get decked out with colorful, flashy, bright lights and perform for the on goers. Lastly, they both have the same rides. I noticed after experiencing Disney World a couple years ago, that Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s rides are either the exact same theme as the other one or it is the same ride layout but with
Disneyland is where you’ll only find the Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, and Radiator Springs Racers here. (In 2017, look for the re-theming of the Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure — it’ll turn into Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout.)” (8 Major Differences Between Walt Disney World and Disneyland, n.d.). There are various different sections of the two parks, aside the rides, for instance the food is more scrumptiously improved with the addition of more appealingly amusing entertainments in Disney World, which I wish to view for myself.
First of all, Disneyworld begun with Disneyland in California. However, Walt Disney started developing Walt Disney World to give the Eastern side of the United States the same joy as he did in California.
As a child I enjoyed going to amusement parks. I enjoyed spending the weekends and afternoons with my family going to an amusement park. Amusement parks are something magical full of fascination and excitement for kids and grown ups. But there are some things that ruin that moment of enjoying a day in the afternoon in our favorite amusement park. Disneyland is greater than Universal Studios Hollywood because of their rides, waiting times, the prices.
To start off, one major similarity is both Disney World and Adventureland have specific characters that build the atmosphere of their theme parks. For example, Disney World has; Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck, Cinderella, Snow White, Belle and many more beloved Disney characters! As for Adventureland has a well-known character, the Saint Bernard dog. All the characters that "live in" their theme park attract children's attention very easily. Children are quick to recognize Disney Worlds characters from TV shows they have watched on Disney Channel. The Saint Bernard at Adventureland is a welcoming, fun character to Adventureland, which attracts thousands of tourists. Both theme park's characters endow the same qualities and draw vast amounts of tourist to both of their theme parks!
While both Walt Disney World resort and Universal Orlando resort are located in the heart of Orlando, Florida, Walt Disney World resort is a considerably larger vacation destination. Both resorts have multiple theme parks, each of them aimed at offering different experiences for guests. Walt Disney World resort has four different theme parks to choose from: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. On the other hand, Universal Orlando resort has only two theme parks to offer their guests: Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Both resorts offer convenient on-site hotels for their guests in order to keep them as close as possible to the fun. Walt Disney World resort has more than twenty-five different hotels to choose from while Universal Orlando resort has only five hotels.
In common language, theme park is often used as a synonym for the term “amusement park”. A “theme park” is actually a distinct style of amusement park, for a theme park has landscaping, buildings, and attractions that are based on one or more specific or central themes. Despite the long history of amusement parks, where many parks have traditionally incorporated themes into the evolving design and operation of the park, qualifying a park as a theme park, the first park built with the original intension of promoting a specific (or exclusive set of) theme(s), Santa Claus Land (currently known as holiday world and splash-in’ safari) located in Santa Claus Land, Indiana, did not open until 1946. Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California, built around the concept of encapsulating multiple theme parks into a single amusement park is often mistakenly noted as the first themed amusement
In terms of size, Disney World is far larger and have four theme parks, while Universal Studios have only two. Each park seems to be perfect for one day, and that is the same for both Disney and Universal. If what is important for you is the amount of attractions, then you should know that despite the size, Universal Studios has more concentrated and it is far more easy to do every ride of a park in just one day. Disney has more space between

Throughout my professional career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of fields, in which I acquired the costumer service skill. Two of the work experience that has most influenced me with this skill are Walt Disney World Company and The National Park Service. Although these work experiences are different, in both of them I attended the costumer needs, greeting, general assistance, and deal with any request and problems to satisfy their needs. At the same time, I also had the opportunity outside of Puerto Rico, and volunteering in different non profit organizations, offering my time, interest, and knowledge for communities and eventes that need my assistance.
Although Disneyland and Walt Disney World (WDW) are Walt Disney’s ideas being portrayed, the two parks have quite a few differences along with a vast amount of similarities. For example, Disney World is comprised of four parks, whereas Disneyland is only made up of two. Disneyland cut the ceremonial ribbon in 1955 and is located in Anaheim, California. It included features such as Sleeping Beauty Castle, eighteen attractions, one resort hotel, and a monorail system. On the other hand, Walt Disney World, located in Orlando, Florida, opened its doors in 1971. It featured Cinderella Castle, fifteen attractions, and two resort hotels when it initially opened. Some similarities between the two are that they allow you to participate in the Disney College Program, both are Walt Disney’s dreams coming to life, the entertainment of the guests, and pin trading. In contrast, the two parks have different amounts and varieties of parks, hotels, restaurants, fastpasses, and entertainment.
“One day Walt Disney had a vision. It was a vision of a place where children and parents could have fun together. The more Walt dreamed of a “magical park,” the more imaginative and elaborate it became” (justdisney.com). This vision that Walt Disney had was the vision of one of the most well-known places on earth, Disneyland. Originally, he planned for the park to cover an area of 8 acres where his employees and families could go to relax. However, World War II halted these plans that he had, which ultimately gave him more time to come up with more ideas for this vision, and he came to the quick realization that 8 acres was not nearly enough. “Finally in 1953, he had the Stanford Research Institute conduct a survey for a 100-acre site, outside of Los Angeles. He needed space to build rivers, waterfalls, and mountains; he would have flying elephants and giant teacups; a fairy-tale castle, moon rockets, and a scenic railway; all inside a magic kingdom he called ‘Disneyland’” (justdisney.com). To him, location was his top priority, and it would have to be in the Los Angeles area, while also being accessible by freeway, as well as affordable as he did not have much money at the time. “The search for the best spot finally ended in the rural Anaheim, California with a purchase of a 160-acre orange grove near the junction of the Santa Ana Freeway (I-5) and Harbor Boulevard” (justdisney.com). This would obviously be an expensive project so Walt had to turn to television for his
