ear Dylan,
I am so sorry that your depression issues have come back. I am sorry to know that you have been struggling to put yourself together and working on your assignments.
I know that depression has kept you away from being able to complete your assignments on time. We have talked about how important is for you to break that circle. You need to accomplish your goals. Having your homework done will help you to feel a little better when things seem to be not going very well.
You and I have discussed about the importance for you to come to Achieve and complete your assignments here. You have set up days and times to come to work on your homework. These are your times:
Monday: 3:00 to 5:00
Tuesday: 1:00 to 3:00
Thursday: 2:00 to 5:00
Please,
First off, one of the biggest reasons for late assignments or bad grades is a lack of
It can be tough in college the semester seems to go by so fast. Staying on top of everything takes a lot of hard work and focus. It so easy to skip a few homework assignments just because I run out of time to do them, or simple really don’t feel like doing the work. At first this may not seem so bad, losing a few point can’t hurt too much. In the long run it can really affect your grade. Often the reason professors have you do the homework is to teach you the stuff you need to complete the bigger assignments that are worth more of your grade. There were many times that I struggled with writing the essays this past semester, because I didn’t take the time to get a firm knowledge on what I needed to know to complete the assignment. I felt like, in many cases I could have done a much better job on the final result, if I just took the time needed to do it
School Performance disorder. Being depressed, it is very difficult for students to go to class and complete assignments. That’s because depression diminishes one’s ability to concentrate, remember things and make decisions.
I was doing fine in the school year in the beginning but soon I started not doing some of my homework. At first, it was just a few assignments here and there but then it started turning to me rarely doing any homework assignments. I thought that I was fine because I didn’t even bother to check my grades. I was still doing really on my tests and quizzes in English 9, Algebra 1, and Physical Science. However, I was failing my tests in Social Studies. The reason for this is because I was to lazy to study and I would sometimes not take notes which was a bad idea.
More and more students are piling on mountains of stresses and strains on their bodies but more so on their minds by choosing to procrastinate. According to Dr. Ferrari associate professor of psychology at De Paul University in Chicago, he suggests that the “stress or anxiety we feel over long periods of time can lead to more serious situations such as depression and other forms of mental illnesses... that will make our lives much harder to cope with.” The true ramifications of delaying or stalling assignments is putting one's mental health on the line. Students may gain anxiety, and or depression problems because of the exceeding amount of stress and pressure they put themselves under when students defer tasks. Another effect of procrastination is building up unnecessary amounts of stress.
For about three to four summers I have been spending my time working in the fields. Every day after I was out of school for summer vacation until a week before school started again I was out under the hot sun cleaning weeds from onion plant or twining hop plants. I had to do something while school was out of session. I also had to work for everything I wanted and help out my parents with money for the monthly bills. Working in the fields helped me out a lot financially, but, there were many effects that came with it like: working under the hot sun, dealing with pesticides, and enduring musculoskeletal injuries.
Homework is always something I can “do later” or “finish at lunch”, and those things are true, but even though I CAN leave it until the last minute doesn’t mean I should. Things like procrastination are holding me back and keeping me from reaching my full potential. I have realized over and over again that things won't be handed to me as I become an adult but I tend to lose sight of that realization and go back to my old habits within hours. My goals shouldn’t simply be to get things done, but to work my hardest and build off my achievements.
School is one of the conflicts I have in my life. I’m in seventh grade, and the work is slowly getting harder. I have had homework that has been kind of tough to finish. Sometimes I choose to procrastinate, instead of doing my work. Even though I choose to procrastinate I still get my work done.
I understand that going to school for eight hours is awful and then having to come home and do more homework just doesn’t seem fair but you have to remember that it is for a good cause and it will help you better understand what you learn. The best advice I could give you is to do everything ahead of time don’t wait until the last minute to type and essay or study for a test you knew about a week in advance. The best thing you can do is as soon as you get home do all your homework. It is better trust me. When you wait until 9:30 that night to do all your homework you will be tired and you will not put your full effort into what you are doing. Finishing something early will make room for other activities. If you are assigned a worksheet on Monday but it is not due until Friday and you decide to wait until Thursday to do it, what if in another class you get assigned work and it is due the next day. If you would have done the worksheet when it was first assigned then you wouldn’t have to worry about having to rush and have extra work. This is why I suggest doing your work ahead of time instead of waiting until the last
I have spent multiple hours, working on this paper. This assignment has take all of the free time outside of sports, eating, and drinking in my life. I haven’t had much family time, because I have to be away from distractions and write. I have sat in my room, and heard at least a 1,000 new songs. I have began to feel like Odysseus when Calypso trapped him for 7 years on her island. My parents have started to asking about my grades because I spend so much time in my room doing “homework”, as I tell them. Really all I have been doing is this paper. I have ran out on songs to listen to as I am writing, just making this essay take more time. As I write this paper this assignment increasingly becomes harder. The time this essay is taking is the main reason I believe this to be the worst thing of my Freshman
Every school year it seems to me that I'm drowning in homework. I usually drag my feet to get things done, and everything has to be done perfectly. The only time I stop worrying about something being perfect is when I'm just tired of thinking about needing to get it done. I also drag my feet to clean my room so every day there is something that needs to be done. On the rare occasion that I finish cleaning my room, doing homework, or anything else needed to be done then I can lay in bed all day, sleep whenever I want to, doodle, watch T.V., or anything else I want to do. It's really wonderful when I don't have to stress myself out over knowing that I have things needed to be done, and I'll get a complete and satisfied feeling. Those lazy free
The painful journey of climbing out of depression was one that ultimately made me stronger. After experiencing two years of academic success, it made sense to expect junior year to be even better, but life unfortunately took a different turn. Since high school until when I took a leave of absence from college in 2013, my life had been under excruciating pressure. Pressure that originated through coming from an immigrant family, and understanding how much my parents had to sacrifice. There was a lot banking on me, my older siblings had struggled in college, which put even more emphasis on me as the next runner up. Being socioeconomically isolated, and lacking social capital, I had to figure out on my own, how to get into and survive the
Rudeness in today’s workplace is hardly a new trend. With our generation today people seem to forget some of their manners. Employees in today’s work environment do not display proper work ethics. 11 out of every 25 employees in a survey said the level of professional respect at work has diminished over the last half-decade (“Workplace,” par. 1). In this society people believe that being respectful isn’t the most important thing in today’s world. 79 of 100 Americans claim that a loss of appreciation and politeness is a deliberate issue in our community, and 61 of 100 think that impolite and self-centered style has elevated in today’s generation (Shortman, par. 1). Employees think they automatically receive respect, but respect is to be earned. Employees are always on their cell phones being on social media or just being on it texting for personal use. Approximately half of Americans (49 of 100) announce they repeatedly notice society using their mobile devices in a clamorous or irritating way in common areas, thus for only 17 of 100 mobile customers concede to be a participant in this unfitting action (Shortman, par. 3). I myself have experienced an abundance of rude mannered people at Dick’s Sporting Goods and Laurel Foodsystems. I believe people take way too many things for granted and manners are a big one. The worst is when you go into an account and the employees there are rude to you because a vending machine is broke. Same way at dick’s when a customer comes in
Work behaviour can be classified as a ‘formal’ behaviour used within employment and business organisations in comparison to alternative forms of human behaviour. For example a lawyer may be more conservative and have far more constraints in their work behaviour in comparison to a chef (Clegg, Kornberger & Pitsis, 2015).
You walk into your place of business about mid-day and your coworkers are standing around talking, they are ignoring the customers, and creating a hostile work environment. Do you feel like this is a place you want to do business or do think some things need to change? Everyone has a different skill set, how they choose to use their skills is their choice, however, some skills are needed to be successful in today’s workforce, I believe these skills include customer service, a positive attitude, friendliness, being able to multitask, be a hard worker, have magnificent work ethic and to sometimes be able to think out side the box.
