Summarize: Write a summary of the article that represents its argument and concerns as accurately as possible. In the video “What ISIS Thinks of 'What ISIS Really Wants” by Nadine Ajaka, they talk about what ISIS’ goals are and the ideals of the group. The main points of ISIS’ ideals in the video are that they are being led by a prophecy and that they are being led into this. ISIS is being led by multiple people who are extremely resistant to compromise and believe that they are following a prophecy. They have a divine prophecy that they will either be led to a great demise or a wonderful ending where they will come out on top. ISIS is vastly different than many other groups by the fact that they are led by a very strong willed leadership.
The key drivers of uncertainty for ISIS in these scenarios include its ability to management its level fundamentalism and stability within its environment. Muslim conduct Islamic fundamentalism when they live and project on to others the original interpretation of Muhammed teachings. The most radical fundamentalism is Wahhabi or Salafist, supporting the conservative and extreme interpretation of the Quran and Sharia Law. ISIS uses its radical fundamentalist interpretation of Quran and Sharia Law to conduct its killing, caliphate and management its people. Due to its major combat losses, ISIS may want a less aggressive approach of fundamentalism to be more appealing to large portions of the Muslim community. The moderate fundamentalism approach used the both the uses the Quran and Sharia Law as well but used political governance or over more aggressive violence to achieve its strategic objectives. To regain personnel and strengthen its forces, ISIS may want to consider globalism over nationalism to improve stability. Although Globalism promotes international investment along with the spread of ideas and culture to other nations, ISIS may want to engage with Nationalism approach to strength it based in Iraq or Syria. All four scenarios review the importance of both fundamentalism and stability as major driving factors projecting the future of an uncertain
ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. It is referred as a terrorist group by the United States, whereas ISIS considers themselves to be an army instead. ISIS has been responsible for many gruesome attacks all over the world one of them being the execution of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh. They originated from Al-Qaeda in Iraq but they had big ambitions by kicking America out and setting up an Islamic state. To this date hold their land there unlike other groups like Al-Qaeda and Taliban. They have a huge support from people as their count being over 30,000 soldiers and followers. They are heavily armed, can fund themselves, have an organized infrastructure, and can cause a lot of damage. Later in 2006, their brutality lost them the support of Iraqi Sunnis who partnered with US forces to help push them out of the country. And for this incident, America takes a lot of credit for this and call it the Surge in which they helped Sunnis rise up against Al-Qaeda in Iraq’s rule. This led to Al-Qaeda in Iraq being defeated but not destroyed by only being driven out of the land they used to control and later they began rebuilding themselves by being involved in the fighting in Syria as they were trying to throw the Shiite Assad regime. Due to their brutal and severe tactics, Al-Qaeda disavowed Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Later in February 2014, the group Al-Qaeda in Iraq

Most ISIS practice customs from the 7th century, but the methods they use to fight a war are 21st century techniques. ISIS have an advanced computer network that uses social media to attract terrorists worldwide to help them attack countries like the United States. Many countries have been victims of cyber attacks but may not realize it until long after the security breach occurred.
ISIS claims to be a legitimate caliphate, which is basically a divinely-sanctioned political body, whose rules, laws, and political ambitions are modeled according to the first ruling order established by Muhammad. According to Islam, that is the only correct and acceptable form of government, and because of this, ISIS technically has a military and political authority of all Muslims worldwide. The Ottoman Empire also had a caliphate to create power and organization over their empire when it still
2. Isis is an Iraqi terrorist group who is trying to gain more control over the war torn country. The group has “a reputation for brutal rule in the areas that it controls”(CNN). Many innocent civilians have been killed due to the inhumane acts that this group has committed. They have been named “the most cash-rich militant group in the world”(CNN).
Each member believes the whole world should be under Sharia Law. Their goal is to establish a “caliphate,” or one political and religious leader. Women are treated like animals, they are also made to cover up from head to toe. The only thing to be seen on a woman is her eyes. ISIS believes alcohol is abysmal, and will harm or kill anyone under the influence. Everyone in this group hates all non-believers. These members justify their hate by this verse from the Quran “Obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad); but if they turn away, then indeed, Allah does not love the disbelievers.” Members of ISIS will jail or kill anyone who does not believe as they
ISIS which stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria could also be called ISIL which stand for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. They are an organization or a type of government that was once with Al-Qaeda and were so violent that Al-Qaeda disowned ISIS. They believe what they are doing is what Muhammad would have them do. They are not too far away from what Hitler thought about the Jews. ISIS lures Westerners to join them by promising camaraderie, moralistic activity and a sense of heroism that deludes these people with an adventure like they never had before. The
ISIS is a Sunni militant group seeking to create its own state, governed by their interpretation of the Laws of the Quran, and to destroy all other branches of Islam as well as convert or destroy all non-Muslims.
This group is also very traditional when it comes to their religion. While al Qaeda was a modern group with modern political views, ISIS has a tendency to stick to old fashioned Islam, speaking in terms and phrases that Islam people now don’t understand or relate to. Their leaders have said that they will not and cannot abandon the governing precepts that were embedded in Islam by the prophet Muhammad and his earliest followers. They believe that out of all the Islam culture, they are the most radical and accurate Islamists there are because they do refer back to the origination of Islam. All of their decisions, actions, etc. are referred back to and based off of the Prophetic Methodology which is the following of the prophecy by Muhammad.(4) Muslims have a rule book called the Koran that is filled with specific rules that are to be followed. It states that crucifixion is one of the only punishments for anyone who objects or disagrees with the Islam religion. The ninth chapter orders them to fight Christians and Jews until they pay their jizya or tax with complete submission. The prophet Muhammad is the one who created the Koran and all of the rules included in it. ISIS takes the Koran very seriously. More seriously than any Islam group ever has. It’s almost as if they have an obsession with following the rules that Muhammad set. The only group before ISIS that has come even close to being similar in actions and the kind of serious
But, ISIS on the other hand requires territory to remain legitimate. This group is also very traditional when it comes to their religion and practices. Their have been terrorists and terrorist organizations before, but, ISIS has been the most focused of terror groups in a long time. ISIS is one of the most dangerous terror organizations in the world, founded in the islamic state of Iraq. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi founded ISIS in 1999. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was a soldier in another terrorist group named Al Qaeda. In 2004 al-Zarqawi established al Qaeda in Iraq. Al Qaeda had a lot or armies focus on them for a while, but ever since, ISIS came in wreaking havoc, blowing up public and religious sites, decapitating victims, crucifying people and doing public executions. All the attention was taken off of Al Qaeda for a while. He was soon killed in an airstrike attack in 2006. The current leader of ISIS, Al
I found many perspectives that this group obtains. In using a functionalist perspective, we see how the groups use moral regulations and also their religious faith to teach an ideology and propagandize their people under them. This small group in sociality works and is trying to grow large and ISIS is doing just that through population growth. ISIS continues to recruit in many ways. Many people in this group have roles. Everyone becomes dependent on one another for their continued well being. People have become specialized which forces mutual interdependent, this interdependence makes sure the the community will not fall apart.
