WATER CONSERVATION
INTRODUCTION:
Water is essential for life on earth. Water is needed for growing food, keeping ourselves clean, generating power, controlling fire and most importantly to stay alive! This list is simply non-ending. This shows that water is an integral part of our daily life and we are heavily dependent on it.
Water conservation –
Refers to reducing the usage of water and recycling of waste water for different purposes such as cleaning, manufacturing, and agricultural irrigation.
Water conservation can be defined as:
1. A reduction in water use accomplished by implementation of water conservation or water efficiency measures; or, 2. Improved water management practices that reduce or enhance the

Using less water also puts less pressure on our sewage treatment facilities, and uses less energy for water supply to the grid.
Why should you conserve water?
There are many good reasons to conserve water. • Water conservation can help meet future needs. • Saving water will save you money. • Water conservation helps preserve the environment. • Saving water will save energy.
Although water conservation helps, some people have misconceptions about what water conservation can and can't do. If we all work together to conserve water, we can help assure a bright and prosperous life for future generations. Become an advocate of conservation in your community. Help promote conservation as a wise and important water management principle.
[pic]SAVE MONEY-
Conserving water saves you money! Not only will your water bill go down, but as you use less water, your gas or energy bill will also decline. If your whole community conserves, you will also pay less fees for water-related services. Water conserving communities will not need to pay as much to develop new supplies and expand or upgrade water and wastewater infrastructure.
Wise usage of water helps us in saving money. We have to pay for the water we use. If we use less water, we will have more money left to spend on other things.
Preserve the Environment-
Water is the life-blood of
Water: Water is an incredibly important and precious perpetual resource. Without water consumption, all living things such as humans, animals, and plants would cease to exist because water is essential to survival. Water is crucial to our livelihoods and should be protected and maintained to ensure quality for today and for the future.
One more efficient way people could conserve would be by having their house inspected for leaks as they account for 16% of our water supply If farmers cut back by just 5% it would be equal to the 25% that the cities in California are required to conserve. The main goal of the city-wide water restrictions
this, or to have some type of strategy to lower the consumption of water use in
Water sustainability is an ever-growing problem because of the increase in population, and over consumption used by agriculture, industry, and domestic which are using more water than we are able to supply. According to CBS News, California’s water shortage has been a big issue since 2011. Climate change has a lot to do with the amount of water we have available to us because the amount we need does not cut out to the amount needed to satisfy the population. Therefore, conservation is key; we must take into consideration the amount we use in a daily basis. Both you and I can easily save water we have, directly and indirectly like what we consume with what we eat, buy and use, which would overall improve water sustainability.
Water is one of the crucial element our planet provides, however, the supply of freshwater will wane if the consumption of water remains unchecked. The steadily growing need to conserve water usage within the United States has sparked people to change their usage of water to aid their communities during desperate times. Recently California experienced a severe drought which called on a restriction on water usage to a bare minimum. During this drought, rising temperature and lack of rain on cities who rely on rain water to recharge the many water sources pushed California governor to act encouraging people to assist with implement the restrictions. The water restriction allowed people to still go about their daily lives while maintaining a
Furthermore , the government should take the responsibility manage the water supply. Farmers can find other ways to grow their crops in a more efficient way that requires less water nowadays because of technology. The citizens of towns cannot be going months without water to bathe or drink. It is for the better of the people the state and the land. Overall more good can come out of water regulation than
Today, one can conserve water. Water is an important part of our everyday lives and one should use it as efficiently as possible. There are a few ways to focus on conserving water. One step to take would be to change and update pipes, fixtures used, and operating systems so that the newest and easiest systems are being used. These new systems today tend to save and cut down the amount of water we use by just running water in the shower or by flushing the toilet. The other most practical way to conserve water would be to change one’s habits while using water. Instead of letting the shower run for two minutes before one actually getting in it, one should turn it on as they get in. Another conscious way of conserving water usage would be to do less loads and bigger loads of laundry so that not as much water is used as often. Some things are easier to conserve than others, but when a conscious effort is made there is a way to get it
Americans consume far more water on average than people in other countries. This means there is significant room for making lifestyle changes and reducing our per capita water usage. However,
Water is a fundamental resource necessary for all life on Earth. Humanity would be extinct without it. People think there is an unlimited supply of water, however there is not. The overuse of water is a problem that needs to be stopped. Society needs to learn to live in a more sustainable way. If humanity continues to overuse Earth’s natural resources the way it does today, the Earth will run dry. To prevent the depletion of water, people need to be aware of their impact on the environment and live sustainably. By controlling the population, limiting fossil fuel usage, and stopping greed, the depletion of water can be prevented.
Californians can conserve water by capturing it and having it percolate into the ground, capturing stormwater, and giving their plants less water. Also, they can lower the maximum amount of pumping extractions legally aloud, or, to take a step forward, we could officially have it made a public good - that way, it will be closely monitored. So, if Californians want to keep their state out of a water crisis, they will learn to savor and be cautious with their water
By implementing water conservation processes into business functions, many companies are realizing additional benefits. Not only do they save on water costs, but they also save on expenses for oil, electricity, natural gas, and chemical treatments. All they have to do is decrease their water usage by 9 percent to see these additional cost savings.
The majority of people in the United States take water for granted. Only one percent of water on Earth is safe for drinking, and more than a quarter of the United States has a water shortage every year. A lack of water is harmful to the environment. Fortunately, there are a several ways to reduce the amount of water you use in a year.
What this will do is help society achieve its environmental goals for the future by having less degradation and more sustainable use of resource. In society today there is a huge waste of water, which can be surprising for the simple fact that most of the wastes are things that common people lack the knowledge of. Even when I read the chapter myself I found ways in new ways in which we waste
The reason water is important to our bodies is because our bodies need water to function our organ systems do not function properly without the proper water intake. Water helps our kidneys to flush out waste and bacteria which can pose a threat to our bodies.
Water is your body’s most important nutrient, is involved in every bodily function, and also makes up more than half your body weight. Without it, people could not live for more than a week. It’s safe to say that drinking water is a necessity to live, but when it comes down to the regulation of it, there is little to none. Tap water and, well yes, bottled water are increasingly getting criticised over the amount of contaminants found in them each year. Humans are getting exposed to these certain contaminants, which can greatly impact the human species.
