Firstly, each person’s experience with starting school is different. For me school has always been a second home to me. I like learning and experiencing new things that the school has to offer. I can honestly say that I have gained lifelong friends from my school years, as well as learned few things from the teachers. I find that what you learn and gain from going to school will always stay with you for the rest of your adult life. You reflect back and know when and where that particular skills or knowledge was learned.

Having previously viewed Accepted before this course, it has been a favorite of mine because of the way college was portrayed in the film. I was anxious to move from the constant watch of my parents to a care-free environment where I was free to do as I please, not having to answer to anyone. The actions of Bartleby and his peers at South Harmon excited me for a time of partying and living life to it’s fullest potential. College is about having the time of your life, but in the right ways with the proper balance. Too much studying or too much partying can both lead to negative consequences on the body. I believe that school does give you the chance to win a star in your life. I believe this because education gets you to be someone in life and gets you a career. At a young age all you hear is what education can do in your life. School does not make you smart or rich, it’s within you to do yourself to learn and strive for the best.

Throughout my high school career, I had the goal to graduate and then attend college. For a large part of my four years in high school, I was unsure as to what type of undergraduate program I wanted to be in. Nevertheless, I continued to work hard in all my classes. My motivation to do well in school was not only fueled by my goal of achieving a respectable GPA, but also my thirst to gain a vast amount of knowledge. I took a wide variety of classes within my high school career, only narrowing my classes to gear towards my chosen college major during my senior year. I took what I learned in high school to springboard me into college.
