The focus of my work in Unit 3 was the human body and the physical toll the environment takes on it. I refined my ideas by focusing on the internal and external qualities that are altered by ones environment and personal attributes. In one case, the concept of addiction has taken place where raw materials are used. While in the other, internal factors of the human body has been altered at the hand of nature. By following these two directions, it has allowed me to practice and establish the relationship between a person and their environment.Throughout my entire design process, I focused on the human body. In particular, I have focused on the female form and the natural femininity that it represents. By focusing on the female form and the …show more content…
In death, the earth still has control. Our bodies disintegrate and our bones remain, covered in the world's greenery. Due to the main focus and subject matter revolving around the female form and its relationship with the world, I have been allowed numerous directions that intertwine with one another in one way or another.I selected potential direction number 3 from Unit 3 for my folio. This potential pathway accurately portrayed the relationship between a person and their environment, and the minor form of addiction that becomes a developed characteristic. The series of self-portraits painted in instant coffee (Nescafe) were refined further. Instead of painting my hands and lower face, I focused on painting portrait images rather than a cluster of meaningless figures. I focused on painting three different angles of my face; full portrait, side-on angled portrait and an extreme close up of my eye. These three features of myself are characteristics that are easily affected by the addiction, and consumption of caffeine. The dark circles under my eyes and discolouration of my skin, alongside the sullen look that has so often be told that plagues my …show more content…
This potential pathway also accurately portrayed the correlation and dependent relationship between a person's body during death, and how nature still takes control over the human body even after life. In the original pieces, I had painted a rib cage and the bones of a hand, using Baroque watercolour pencils. For my developed potential pathways, I had created larger and more detailed versions. Two out of the three paintings had become potential final pieces, the third not being developed enough to my standards. Refining this further, I had decided to use the Eraldo watercolour set, creating more vibrancy and tone in the plants that are entwined with the skeleton. I refrained from focusing on organs, but rather the bones that remain after death. I had woven numerous plants and flowers throughout the cracks and creases of the skeletal hand, exploring the concept further in depth. I had altered my original theme by using warm colours in comparison to the cool; instead of the harsh blue and purple hues, the definite plan for my final piece was refined with blossoming flowers and warm coloured bone structure. This had given the overall painting a vibrant hue, exploring the beauty in physical alterations from life to death, and the environmental factors contributing to its physical

I chose Tesco because Tesco is one of the biggest supermarkets and they exist long time ago and they have been successful. Tesco has more than 250 employees so it is counted as a large business. Tesco was found in 1919 by Jack Cohen. Tesco on his first day made profit £1 from sales £4. Tesco’s brand appeared in 1924. Tesco has also bank, insurance company and petrol stations. Tesco have 476 000 employees so it is large business because is also international business. Before we created our promotional materials such as posters, leaflets and flyers, we had to make sure that we were able to find a suitable price in which we can budget according to our finances. During our research, we were able to locate a suitable printing agency in which we could print our promotional materials in bulk, so we could hand out in the local area to help promote the business. The advantage of the agency we chose for printing our material was that they were able to print our promotional materials within 2 working days and that any deliveries that took place could be tracked on the website when u log on to it, this to make sure that the delivery is going according to plan. By selecting the amount we though would be

In the 21st century, modern artists experiment with many different techniques and use variation of inspirations for their works. This century is very open minded and knowledgeable about many things. We are trying to escape death and stay always young. There is an artist who being able to touch this subject many time in his work. Damien Hirst expressed his individuality in extraordinary creative innovative designs, through fundamentally in working with the theory of death and life. His provocative works of art highlights our cultural anxiety and opens up our emotional basic feeling.
Upon observing Salvador Dali’s Metamorphosis of Narcissus reveals that the binary death/life is strongly accented by unique and stunning characteristics that illustrate death in its lightest form. For instance, the right side of the picture incorporates majestic colors, which gives almost a blissful glow (notably the bluish tints and soft shadows) while the left side is virtually enjoyable (the golden statue, tranquil reflection, and warm atmosphere). The statues have equivalent general form, the golden statue, tranquil reflection, and warm atmosphere). The statues have equivalent general form, the golden statue being a man and the collapsing one of a hand suspending a cracking egg. The tempting nature of the left side of the painting seems
My work is inspired by CADY and the emotional affects of addiction. Each of these paintings display either depression, hopelessness, or frustration. Throughout these paintings, I decided to work in threes to experiment with unity and variation. I added variation to these pieces through choosing to paint people with different genders, skin tones, body positions, emotions, and hairstyles. To unify these paintings as a series, I kept a similar color palette of purples, blues, yellows, and greens. These main colors direct the viewer’s eye to flow from painting to painting. The main message of these paintings is to encourage those suffering from addiction to seek help. There are organizations out there such as CADY that can help break this cycle
