Windows 7 is an operating system that is of the Microsoft Windows family. Windows 7 is part of one of the most used operating systems around the world. It is the successor to Windows XP and Windows Vista. Alongside Windows 7 are two other operating systems that are viewed as alternatives to the Windows OS. Those alternatives include Linux operating systems as well as Windows Server 2008.

The Operating system is one most important parts of anything that runs on technology. It manages the computers memory and processes the information for the software and hardware. There is different operation system for pc, tablets, smart cars, and smartphones.

A computers operating system (OS) is the core of the computer and is more than just software. The OS controls the computer’s memory and processes as well as its hardware and software. It is the brain of the computer. Software applications on the other hand perform a certain task. Ex. Google Chrome provides internet and Adobe allows PDF files to be read (among other things). The OS is what makes all of these applications work successfully and accomplish whatever the application is designed to accomplish.

The three we have chosen are Microsoft, Linux and Mac OS. Mas OS has been around the longest, and then Microsoft, these are the main two that most companies use today. Not to say one is better than the other, for it is mainly up to what the company’s mission is and what is needed to accomplish that mission.

Operating systems are very important to be able to run different applications on your phone or computer etc. so you can run multiple programs at the same time, it manages internal memory, it runs the input and output of attached devices like your phone or printer by transferring data. And lastly it also enables you to run more than 1 processor at the same time by dividing the program. So as you can see operating systems are very important to improve and be able to run your PC.

Windows XP is an operating system for use on PC’s which include resident and business desktops, laptops and notebooks. The name "XP" is an acronym for "eXPerience." It's the original, user friendly, operating system to be created on the Windows NT kernel and design. Windows XP was launched on October 25, 2001.

It 's very less prone when compared to apple. It is also vulnerable to virus. Disadvantages of LINUX is, it is complicated which needs good deal of computer knowledge, less compatible which have less programs and games as windows have many programs. There are less vendors selling LINUX computers.
