Good development enables a child to increase their skills and knowledge, which will help them throughout their lives. For example, when they are looking for a job they will be equipped with a good development of knowledge and intellectual skills, which will result to a better job. Another example is if when a child attends school, they will be able to learn and develop quickly which will result to better grades. Good growth on the other hand, enables a child to have a healthy weight, height and an overall healthy body. Good growth also helps a child’s development. Physical growth and size Physical growth occurs from 0 to 18 years. This is from the time the baby is born to the time the baby matures. The child will grow according to the individual child and the different parts of its body; this also depends on the rate that the child will grow at throughout the years. The child may experience a ‘growth spurt’, which is when the body tends to grow at a much faster pace than the child’s usual growth rate. Parts of the body also grow quicker than other parts at different times. For example, usually a baby’s head is larger than the rest of the body when born. As the baby grows, the head becomes smaller in proportion to the rest of the body parts. Health professionals monitor babies’ growth using a chart called the ‘Centile Chart’. Developmental is understood as the act or process of developing; progress such as child developmental. When children go through the process of developing, they all develop the same regardless of what state or country there from. The way children develop has been studied by two psychologists’ name Jean Piaget and Erik Erikson and they both develop a theory of how children develop through their entire life starting as a newborn baby through adulthood. Jean Piaget came about four theories of children develop and Erik Erikson came about eight theories of children develop.

Development includes the fundamental, subjective and sensitive changes that take place in person from birth. It is a constant process in the order but having different experience for every child. Every age have their own developmental progress. It can be varied from child to child. So, I choose different activities for children according to their age which will help them to establish their skill and also they can learn something new from it.
A constant physical growth is the best sign of a baby maturing as nature intended. Although it is somewhat hard to measure, most mothers will employ the use of baby scales, scales designed to track the weight of your baby over the first 6-12 months of its life. They will chart this out and will see a constant growth, which they can then discuss with a pediatrician. This will also give the mother some piece of mind, knowing that her efforts to care for her baby are going perfectly.

I will now explain, however, the sequence and rate of development for: babies (0-3 years); formative years (3-12 years); and adolescence (12 – 19 years).
Development is a simple word with a lot of meaning for everything in this world that can evolve over a period of time. Life consists of many things that begin to grow piece by piece into something bigger that becomes a beautiful sight. I started out just like that from the time I was conceived to my childhood, which then transitioned into something beautiful, adulthood.
There are five aspects of a child and young person’s development that are measured on, Social development, physical development, intellectual development, communication, and emotional development. Development refers not to the physical growth of children and young people, but to the skills and knowledge that they are developing. All children and young people follow a similar pattern of development so the order in which each child grows from one milestone to the next will roughly be the same. However, each child will develop at a different rate and their development may not progress evenly across all areas.

Freud, Erikson, and Piaget identified distinct stages of growth and development. Gesell documented a predictable sequence of childhood development and demonstrated that a child’s developmental age may differ from chronological age.
The growth chart by Babson and Benda (1976) shows means and standard deviations for birth weight, head circumference, and length from a gestational age of 26 weeks to 1 year of age. For the newborns, Babson obtained data from mostly Caucasian infants born in Portland, Oregon, for the years from 1959 through 1966. 39,743 infants with gestational ages from 27 to 44 weeks, including 3381 infants with gestational ages from 27 to 37 weeks were included in the study. The gestational age was based on the LMP. Mean and standard deviation for 3 parameters were measured from the chart and were converted into percentiles.
