Theoretical Frame Work The ecological system as mentioned above is very important to understand. The five different levels of the ecological system ties in well with the second theory. This theory is by Albert Bandura from the social learning theory. The specific theory is called reciprocal determinism.
Underlying Assumption
Reciprocal determinism means that behavior is influenced by how that person is, but also by what environment they are in. In addition, the behavior is influenced by confrontation, whether it is positive or negative (lajoei, 2008). An example of this is when a child could feel loved or threatened. In both cases it will result in some sort of action, whether good or bad.
Furthermore, there has to be some type of goals

This leads to working together in the community, or environment they are in (Rivituso, 2014) For example, being able to create goals, and learning to improve through just that one’s person judgment, and nobody else. In addition, it is equally important to learn to work with others, and to get help when needed. However, this could mean that due to a negative experience it could lead to the youth also thinking or acting negatively. If the instance is repeated multiple times it could result in a constant growing fear. A good example is cyber-bullying, which the result of bullying is usually some type of fear you have (Rivitusos, …show more content…
Bandura shows through this theory a person’s beliefs, and characteristics. In addition, it shows the behavior established in the environment, and an individual behavior as well. All of these have to work together as stated by Bandura. (Davis-Brezette, Kamla, Larson, 2006). Because of the strong role of the environment, this could lead to multiple strengths. An example of this is choosing the right environment to determine the type of person you will become. For example, going to Church, or being involved in School could shape a part of who that person will become. These could all lead to eventually having an impact on the environment they are in. This could happen by influencing the people around you, and having relationships with them. In return those people are able to influence you as well (Davis-Brezette, Kamla, Larson,
Urie Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory encompasses every aspect of Adam Lanza’s development. His theory separates the environment into four distinct systems, which are Microsystem, Mesosystem, Exosystem, Macrosystem and Chronosystem. In the following, I will apply his theory to the specific case as described above. I will also analyze
The Ecological Theory is not being probed in this research; it is limited to be an organizing tool. The interview guide that we use tried to include all the systems in the theory (macro, micro, meso, exo, and crhono5), and their probable relations through different issues, which will correspond to one or more systems. However, even the theory would not define the study, it contributes to the design.
According to Bandura’s theory, human functioning is dynamic and involves personal, behavioral, and environmental influences (Mills, Pajares, & Herron, 2007). The theory, which
Ecological theory describes four levels of the environment that interconnect and impact people. Moving from the most intimate individual system to a broader inclusion you can identify the many systems that play a role in individual’s lives and well-being. These interactions could be harmonious and create homeostasis or could be disharmonious and cause stress.
Example: Moving from one class to another- it is very hard transaction because everything is new for example a new teacher, a new room, resources and way of working this can be very dificult for children we need talk to them and help them to work with this situation and every amontional feel make positive. When we will work properly about this situation he can have better life after. If They aren´t happy They can may become quiet Positive relationships can support children across the school by adults making themselves known to children.
Similar to the systems theory, the ecological theory embraces many of the same concepts, but has narrowed the focus, so that it does not include such a broad view of the system. The Ecological theory is an adaptive, evolutionary view of human beings in constant exchange interchange with all elements of their environment (Germain & Gitterman, 1980, p. 5). The idea that person and the environment are inseparable and must be considered jointly, is primary assumption of this theory. The person and his or her environment form a unitary system in which each is dependent on the other and directly shapes each other.
The Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems is a model created by psychologist Urie Bronfenbrenner that refers to five structures of which an individual interacts with that impacts their development. The structures are referred to as systems in the model and there are five systems: Microsystem, Mesosystem, Exosystem, Macrosystem, Chronosystem.
There are some differences between them as well, which are Bronfenbrenner‘s theories is also emphasis more in indirect influences and other wider factors; such as environment of a family, community or politic and economic issues. However, Bandura theory are more concentrated on children’s cognitive development, topic related to self-efficacy and he also emphasise and
"Ecological systems theory is an approach to study of human development that consists of the 'scientific study of the progressive, mutual accommodation, throughout the life course, between an active, growing human being, and the changing properties of the immediate settings in which the developing person lives, as this process is affected by the relations between these settings, and by the larger contexts in which the settings are embedded'" (Bronfenbrenner, 1989, page or #). When reading and researching to gain deeper understanding and
Having a positive outlook at school i.e. having self-confidence and self-esteem gives children the choice to build independence. Showing expected behaviour by example i.e. being a good role model, and valuing their work and achievements will all help build up a good relationship with a child. This will all help in leading to better resilience. How children relate to other people depends on their emotional well being and resilience. As children develop they begin to interact with others. Children who feel good about themselves will be able to relate to others in a more positive way. This in turn will make them feel better emotionally and could help their confidence, in-group situations. It is important that practitioners help children to feel positive about themselves. High self-esteem helps children overcome set backs and cope with difficult situations such as disappointment and hurt feelings. If a child is happy and has high self-esteem this makes the process of relating to others easier. Low self-esteem may mean that a child may start to compare themselves with other children in the group. This can affect their emotional well being if they think that they aren’t doing as well as others.
Developmental psychologist Urie Bronfenbrenner first introduced the Ecologicial Systems model in the 1970’s. Bronfenbrenner argued that to understand human development, the environment in which the person belongs must be understood (Bronfenbrenner, U.1979). The Ecological Systems model concentrically depicts how a person’s development is influenced by their wider environment. In the original model there were four ecological levels in the system, however in 1979 Bronfenbrenner added an additional fifth level (Bronfenbrenner, U. 1994). With the developing person in the centre, the five progressive levels of environment include the microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, marcosystem and the chronosystem.
Annie, a fifth-grade student in Mr. Keller's class, is being quiet and sullen for the fifth day in a row. "I just can't do this writing stuff," she finally says in an appeal to Mr. Keller. "I'm not a good student. Give me P.E. or art over this stuff any day!" If we apply Albert Bandura's social cognitive theory in her comment "I just can't do this writing stuff" how does Bandura's theory help us to understand Annie? According, the Social Cognitive Theory of Albert Bandura which combines both behavioral and cognitive philosophies to form his theory of modeling, or observational learning states that human personality is an interaction between the environment and a person's psychological processes. With this interaction humans are able to
With the second wave of systems theory came about the idea of the ecological perspective, named ecological systems theory. It is the combining of general systems theory with an ecological approach. Ecological systems theory uses ideas that link together four different social systems that surround an individual; these systems are known as, micro-systems, meso-systems, exo-systems and macro-systems (Healy, 2005). The ecological model is used as a tool. These systems are very structured and use certain processes as guideline. Different processing concepts are used in systems theory. These concepts explain how the system works. Input is the energy being fed into the system across boundaries. Throughput is how the energy is used within the system and output is the
The development and growth of an individual is within the constraints of the social environment. Bronfenbrenner's theory that development is influenced by experiences arising from broader social and cultural systems as well as a child's immediate surroundings. Ecological Systems Theory, also called "Development in Context" or "Human Ecology" theory, specifies four types of nested environmental systems, with bi-directional influences within and between the systems. The theory was developed by Urie Bronfenbrenner, generally regarded as one of the world's leading scholars in the field of developmental
ecological system. He goes on, he says that ecological system is made up of five socially organized subsystems and these subsystems impact on his or her development by providing help, support and guidance. These subsystem vary from micro system to macro system, former has direct interaction with individual like school and family while later has indirect interaction the cultural environment in which the person lives and all other system that affect. The most of the theories which supports the ecological systems have been given by Urie bronfenbrenner; his theories are the result of analysis and integration of results from imperial investigations done for several years by the researches from different
