Caliban’s Soul The “Soul of Caliban” shows that some people may think that animals don’t have souls, but they do. The first piece of evidence is that Caliban went into a blizzard to save a mother sheep and a newborn lamb. This shows that he has heart and that he wanted her to feel supported. Another time he had heart is when he threw a cat into the air and crippled it but didn’t kill it. This shows that he took pity on the little cat. The third piece of evidence is that when Amelie had a baby he eventually warmed up and protected the baby. This shows that he had a grudge because he was jealous of the baby and he got over the jealousy. The quote that was chosen is “ Here lies Caliban, a dog. He died as he lived, misjudged, maligned, and unafraid.
In the very beginning of Library of Souls, Ransom Riggs had inserted a quote; “The ends of the earth, the depths of the sea, the darkness of time, you have chosen all three.” -E.M. Forster. It connects to multiple different events throughout the book including; traveling to different areas, terrible things happening in water, and how time can cause harm.

Eliezer’s lost of hope in Gods existence and his justice is a major theme in the book Night. At the beginning of the book, his belief in God is outright. Eliezer cannot imagine living without his strong beliefs and daily prayers. When Eliezer is asked why does he believe in God, he answers, “Why did I pray? ...
When Reverend Moorehead gives his sermon about Jem and Scout’s misdeeds at the dinner party, Atticus responds by laughing. Just before the dinner, Scout was “baptized” by Jem during one of their games, leaving her wet and naked. On their way home from the lake, they run into Reverend Moorehead, his wife, and Atticus. Calmly, Atticus puts his coat over Scout and tells her, “Go to Calpurnia. Go in the backdoor”(68). Calpurnia quickly cleans Scout up and prepares dinner. At the table, Reverend preaches a sermon about the kids misdemeanor from the incident earlier. After the sermon ends, Atticus leaves the room and instantly Scout thought he was embarresed and upset by their actions, but when she asked, "Is Atticus real upset?", Calpurnia said,

Calpurnia's one of the major characters in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird written in 1960. Calpurnia is a black woman who works for Atticus Finch taking care of his two children Jem and Scout. In the book Calpurnia is a nurturing figure in the kids lives, although sometimes tough she is very wise and tries to teach the kids good values. Calpurnia is nurturing because she is like a mother to Jem and Scout and she has a protective motherly instinct on the kids.
Calpurnia plays one role in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Calpurnia is the maid or nanny you could say for Jem and Scout since they lost their mother at a young age. She is black but often shows a side of her that would not resemble a black person for example: the way she talks, who she spends her time with the most, and how she is treated. Although Calpurnia is around white people for majority of her time she also has another side to her that the kids do not often see.
Calpurnia does not seem who she seems to be because she has a life other than being a cook for the Finch family and She treats Jem and Scout as her kids. Calpurnia has a life because she has a son named Zeebo, She goes to church every Sunday at First Purchase African M.E. Church. Also, she has a life because she does not live with the Finch family but lives in her own house. Also, she is not who she seems because she treats Jem and Scout as her kids. She treats them as her own kids by making them clean up good for church. “If Calpurnia had ever bathed me roughly before, it was nothing compared to her supervision of that Saturday night’s routine,” (Lee 134). This is important because it shows that Cal wanted Scout to be nice and clean for church the next day. When they get to church she acts like they are her own by defending them, when they are confronted by Lula and when they sit
Lee uses the character of Calpurnia to show how people should treat one another. When Jem and Scout have Walter Cunningham Jr. Over for dinner, Scout does not treat him like a guest. She constantly questions everything he does, such as putting syrup on his vegetables, even though she knew he did not know any better. Calpurnia calls scout into the kitchen.
In this scene the point about civilization Huxley is trying to make is the newer and cleaner the more civilized. An example is "they've been doing this for the last five or six thousand years. So i suppose they must be used to it by now" pg. 105 he's showing that the uncivilized group of people are still stuck in the old times and haven't adapted any new ideas therefore they are uncivilized. Two other quotes that caught my attention are "cleanliness is next to fordliness" pg. 105 and "civilization is sterilization" pg. 105 and these two quotes show what they're idea of civilization
In the book The Killing Sea by Richard Lewis, Sarah and Ruslan have the same point of view. On pages 31 and 64 the book states, “Grab something! Anything!” said Sarah. “In an alley, Ruslan spotted a trail bike lying on it side, keys still dangling in the ignition.” From these quotes, it’s showing Ruslan and Sarah both care for their families, Sarah is trying to save her brother.
The reason I chose this quote is because O’Brien reflects on his own storytelling after Bowker sends him a letter asking for a story. The letter that Bowker sends inspires O’Brien to use his own storytelling to help cope with his own experiences. This quote helps in proving that sometimes telling the truth in a story is not as important as emotional truth. The whole key of the book.

After such a complicated search of Siddhartha trying to truly understand what he was really looking for, we read the quote that unlocks the answers in terms of what Siddhartha longs for all along. All the thirst for knowledge Siddhartha had previously was cloudy, nothing was ever good enough for him, but at the same time, he didn’t fully understand what he actually wanted. Parts of the long journey were beneficial to Siddhartha, but not beneficial to finding his main questions. In Chapter 4, we read that what Siddhartha wanted was the answers to himself. He realized that the reason why he didn’t know what he wanted, or where he wanted to go, was because he simply did not know himself, his strengths, his weaknesses, and his passions. The spontaneous
