The Notebook

The author writes about young romance, the deteriorating love of Allie and Leah’s parents, and, in my opinion the most important, the sisterly love between Allie and Leah. The two sisters thought life would be so unbearable without each other, that if they were going to die, they had to do it together. Another factor to remember is that sisters fight. I am not even talking about the you-ruined-my-favorite-shirt argument. In this book, something-went-so-wrong-I-went-back-on-our-suicide-pact is far more accurate. Everything is far more spread out for the reader. In fact, the book’s first line already speaks of Leah’s death: “The last thing we did as a family was bury my sister.” (Ramey 1). The reader cannot fully understand Leah and Allie’s relationship until the end of the book. The reader gets small little pieces to try and figure out along with Alie the complex and despairing death of her sister. As for the other love subplots, I feel as the reader does not get enough background information on Allie’s parents to fully scrutinize the situation. As for the romance in Allie’s life, it is a very minor part of the plot that has not developed yet, but I hope the main focus will still be on the love between Allie and

When it comes to love, often times people believe that it is one of the strongest forces of nature. Love can bring people together, heal the wounded, and overcome almost any obstacle set in its path. Or can it? I believe that love can and will always prevail, or as the saying goes “conquer all”. After reading Mira Jacob’s “The Arranged Marriage That Ended Happily Ever After: How My Parents Fell In love, 30 Years Later” and also, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm’s “Cinderella” it just affirmed my opinion on the strength of love.

I have always been one to love the book better than the movie because they give me more details for us to work with. However, I’d have to say that in The Notebook, that I enjoyed the movie better. The movie really captured more emotion and showed a stronger passion for love than the book did. The director did an amazing job by adding in more conflicts and more heartbreaks which showed Noah’s and Allie’s love to be even stronger. In the book, Sparks builds up their love by explaining how they felt for one another, he uses Allie’s disease and how caring and loving Noah is towards her and how much he wants her to remember to show how strong their love is. The main focus in the book is her disease, it is highlighted more and it is the main conflict.

When faced with a troubling choice there are two instincts every person and animal has. This set of responses are either fight or flight, coming face to face with adversity will cause someone to pick one of the two instincts. Depending on which one you choose determines wether you fail or prevail when put up against a challenge. In Animal Farm and The Kite Runner the main characters show their tough times and how they did or did not over come them. “These are times that try men's souls.” ~Thomas Paine.

There was continually something about specific parts of The Muppets that frightened me, as much as I adore them! I particularly recall one portrayal on a VHS called 'Gonzo's Muppet Weird Stuff' that had Jim Henson and Frank Oz executing as two singing animals using their own mouths flipped around, it was frightening! There was something unsettling about the passages paving the way to the Gorg's kingdom in 'Fraggle Rock'. Be that as it may, nothing was more alarming than the introductory appearance of the trolls in Henson's 1986 film Labyrinth.

Alec, his horse, his mom and dad, and the reporter leave the city and head to his home in the suburbs of New York. Alec’s plan entails bargaining with the neighbors to use their stall to board his horse and his father tells him that he must be the one to speak to the woman. Luckily the woman of the home allows the boy to keep his horse in her barn and she sends her husband, Henry, to open the gate. At the barn, Alec finds out that his stallion will be staying with another horse, Napoleon, which worries him at first, but he soon finds that those feelings are unfounded because the two automatically connect. The Crave for Redemption The Kite Runner by Khaled Housseini is about Amir, the protagonist, a man who's is reflecting on his struggle to overcome his past mistakes for the last twenty-six years, the mistakes he made when he was only 12 years old. The book follows Amir through the memories of his childhood, and the memories of people who are a very important part of his life, and influential to him and to his mistakes as well, these people being his best friend Hassan, and his father Baba. There are multiple major themes in this novel, but the most distinctive one is finding redemption for past mistakes. Amir has made some sinful choices in the past; running away from helping his friend in need, and then soon after betraying him.

Americans often think of the middle as a wild and almost barbaric place. Since the 2001, 9/11 attacks, stereotypes and racism has arose towards the arab world and the arab people. I myself am no exception. In an airport I do sometimes look at a man in a turban or woman in a hijab with concern. However we understand very little of the culture of the middle east. We usually think of how we have been wronged and hardly ever consider the awful treatment that is often shown to arabs.reading “The Kite Runner” Changed a lot of my stereotypical beliefs about the arab world. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is a beautifully crafted story about a young boy and his challenges growing up. Its a story about love and loss, friendship and betrayal, brotherhood and fatherhood, and a life long fight for redemption. The Kite Runner was incredibly moving and thrilling, and had me constantly on my toes wondering what was going to happen next. It is an emotionally haunting novel that gets you completely invested in the plot and characters. As well as having a fantastic story line, it also gave great insight into the life of Afghans over the past 20 years.

For my AP English Summer homework I had to read this book called "The Kite Runner". I really enjoyed the book so I think that you should promote it as a book that everyone in Laurel should read. The reasons for this are: 1. It leaves a great emotional impact, 2. The desriptions of the events are very vivid, and 3. The story has a happy but mysterious ending.

The book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is marked as a must read for many schools. It is not simply a good book, but a book that deeply touches every reader’s souls. Hosseini’s detailed writing portrays a realistic emotions that can echo with the readers. Everyone has a story of the past that is fresh in your brain and you try to save it. Whether it is for a redemption or aspiration, you become a kite runner.

The modern text about a girl falling in love accurately depicts the idea behind unconditional love. Hazel Grace, the main character, has terminal cancer. Before meeting the mysterious Augustus– a mysterious love interest who had also been previously impacted by cancer–Hazel viewed herself as a burden and had a hard time comprehending the importance of love. However, Augustus would not let her accept the miserable reality that she had accepted

Whether it was connecting, predicting, or visualizing, using each of those three analytical techniques provided no hardships. With the help of fourteen different points of views, Gabe and Lea’s love story grows and develops throughout the whole novel whether Gabe and Lea know it or not. Every character is rooting for their love story to augment, and even the readers will want their awkward love story to continue. With all the same interests and hobbies, Gabe and Lea’s story was bound to end happily ever after just like your favorite childhood fairytale. Even after you have finished this lovey-dovey novel, you will still have love on the brain.

Initially Noah couldn’t stop thinking about Allie, and decided he would write her every day for one year. However, Allie never received them because her mother intercepted and hid the letters. The mother is now portrayed by the audience as somewhat of a villain persuading them to dislike her, but all the while, the director is engaging the audience and their interest. Almost a decade has passed by and during the separation Noah devoted his time to fix up the home they had both dreamed of living in. He had made it exactly the way Allie had envisioned; hoping that one day she would come back to him. Unfortunately, during her time as a nurse Allie met someone else. He met all of the expectations and seemed to be the perfect match just as her parents had imagined. While Lon the young man she had met and fallen in love with were out on a double date with her parents; he got down on one knee and proposed. This, however, was not a surprise to Allie’s parents as he had already asked for their permission and received their blessing. For a moment she had thought of her true love Noah, and then said yes. She never stopped loving Noah she didn’t know anything about him. All she knew was that he never tried to contact her. And Noah didn’t stop working on the house until he was finished. His love, commitment and devotion to Allie is what kept him alive.
