When riding fourwheelers you don't want anything important to fall off, but luck is not always on your side. Dalton was riding in the field next to his house with his cousin Branden. As they were driving through the corn husks the end piece of the muffler came loose and fell off the fourwheeler. Dalton was firing up his fourwheeler to go ride in the field. He did a quick check over his fourwheeler, and he determined everything looked good. He asked, “are you guys ready?” His cousin Branden yelled, “alright let's go!” They drove out in the field and was having a blast. Dalton's brother Garrett was still working on his fourwheeler thirty minutes after Dalton and Branden went out into the field. When Dalton and Branden were rounding a turn. Branden was about fifty feet behind Dalton when the unexpected …show more content…
Dalton realized right away his fourwheeler was much louder than normal. Branden had to swerve so he wouldn't hit the muffler and damage it. Branden stopped Dalton with a rev of his engine and explained to Dalton that his muffler fell off. Branden raced back to the house where Dalton's brother Garrett was. Garrett was working on his fourwheeler when Brandon told him the muffler flew off and tumbled into the dirt. Garrett quickly grabbed a rag for the extremely hot muffler and a screwdriver from the wall. He fired up his fourwheeler and took off into the field. Dalton saw Branden and Garrett approaching him and got of his fourwheeler and walked to the back where he once again looked down to see the dammage. Garrett had to look around for the muffler, but eventually found it about one hundred feet from where Dalton was. Garrett grabbed the muffler in the

In the book it describes, “We are turning before I realize why we are turning, and then I realize that Ben is pulling the wheel toward him, turning us in a hopeless attempt to miss the cow, and then we are on the shoulder and then on the grass,” (Green 268). The quote explains how the near accident had occurred during their 21-hour trip to Agloe, New York.

Frye’s, car out for a drive without permission. Upon returning the car to the garage, Cameron and two of his friends attempted to roll back the car’s mileage to prevent getting caught. They placed the car on a jack in the garage, started the car and put it in reverse with a concrete block holding down the gas pedal.
It is inevitable that people will eventually encounter a hurdle that will challenge them either physically or mentally. Although self-doubt is always part of the equation, the individual always has the option to overcome the obstacle or let the barrier determine their destiny. In the short story “The Red Convertible” written by Louise Erdrich and the play “The Cuban Swimmer” written by Milcha Sanchez-Scott readers get the insight of the struggle two characters face as they find themselves in a difficult time in their lives. Through the events that occur, family support, and symbols readers can find similarities and differences while at the same time finding clues that certify that these two pieces of writing are about struggle.
“This car has never broken down and it never will,” Theo told. We were soon driving up the mountain, zig zagging back and forth to go all the way up. Then, car’s gears started making a loud grinding sound.
Louise Erdrich's short story, "The Red Convertible," follows two Native American brothers and their evolving relationship over time as well as their adventures in their red Olds. The two brothers, Lyman and Henry, became much closer with the continuous use of the car. The car stays with the brothers, even during the absence of one of the brothers. The author uses the car as a representation of the brother's uncertain relationship.
He releases the break and begins turning the wheel in the direction of the spin praying the tires catch before running full speed into the median. After, what felt like an eternity, spinning around and around as if caught by a crashing wave the tires catch. The truck jerks violently as Paul regains control the truck bangs up against the side of the exit ramp a few times while the brakes gently applied. The truck starts to slow down and Paul turns right to avoid the median and swerves left to dodge the light pole. They hit the curb rocking the pair ridiculously hard before running head on to a group of
So the other day me and my friends were casually discussing some of the teachers we've had over the past few years (the good and the bad hahaha) and I brought you up because so many of us had you! After that I just could not stop thinking of all the great memories I had from either grade, which sounds so silly but seriously I've thinking about it nonstop!
He breaks free from the shards of glass pinning his clothes to the leather seat like a knife throwing act. This unwise movement causes the whole car to lurch forward like a teeter-totter. Looking through his mangled rearview mirror, Hunt can only see the unmerciful ocean waiting for him to make the wrong move. Realizing his car is on the edge of the cliff, he reaches through the broken windshield and pulls his body through, struggling from a combination of too much alcohol and some newly obtained, but unidentifiable injuries. Once standing on the hood of the car he leaps off, letting off enough weight to upset the balance and send the Cadillac falling to the patient ocean. The car he hit was a black Mark IV Jaguar that held up fairly well to the accident with little benefit to its owner. He staggers over to the elderly man in the driver’s seat who looks too old to drive a car. He lifts up his arm, entwined with the steering wheel, to check the driver’s pulse. Nothing. He puts his two fingers on his own wrist just to make sure he’s still alive. Thu-thump, thu-thump, thu-thump. The emotional pain of the situation takes over the steering wheel from the physical pain, which was previously driving the muscles in his face. He places his fingers back on the driver’s wrist.
Who knew after drinking just only two rounds that Neji can be like this? You sigh, smacking your head as your friend drank the last drop of alcohol from his shot glass. You vow to yourself that if Neji wanted to drink, it will only be at home and not at a bar. Just thinking about carrying him all the way to his house will be a very long journey, especially when it feels like you are carrying a dead person on your back. You also made a mental note that Neji is not a heavy drinker like you were. Just two shot glass and he’s already done?
“Were that the cars that rushed into the smoke? Did they got lost while driving? How they caught fire so fast? Did everyone survive?” I thought at that moment. Tried to find the answer but too afraid to ask them.
While on the way to the fields we are passing through Oklahoma when the truck starts jerking. Brian's cell phone had just muttered the words that were least appealing at the moment. The fuel pump on Brian's truck had just went out and we looked at each other and we both knew what had happened. “We don't have time for this” ,i muttered, “we have to make it to Kansas and be set up in the blind in 5 hours and we
Crash. One, two, no, three plates hit the floor. I could for all intents and purposes feel my spirit drain from my body as that sound rung throughout the restaurant. I paused for a moment to recollect my thoughts, looking up to see a collection of dirty plates, bowls, and pans stacked nearly a foot high on the shelf and beginning to collect around my feet as there was nowhere else to put them. With a stack of plates so tall, the grease had allowed a plate to slip and take several others with it to crash onto the stone floor. Ah yes, this was dinner hour, the busiest hour of the night, on Friday, the busiest day of the week in general, and it was my first week on the job. Straightaway came the manager, Rachel, as well as a few of my coworkers. She looked to see glass scattered
