Nestle is a Swiss based multinational company which is head quartered in Vevey, Switzerland. There is a long list of the products of Nestle but the most important ones include baby food, bottled water, breakfast cereals, coffee and tea, confectionery, dairy products, ice cream, frozen food, pet foods, and snacks. Nestle was formed in 1905 by the merger of the Anglo-Swiss Milk Company, established in 1866 by brothers George Page and Charles Page, and Farine Lactee Henri Nestle, founded in 1866 by Henri Nestle. The company grew significantly during the First World War and again following the Second World War, expanding its offerings beyond its early condensed milk and infant formula products. Nestle has its own distribution network which is equipped with the all necessary facilities. It transports all of its products at major regional sales offices which are situated at different cities of the country. These distribution centers have their own van along with the sales staff who sells and transports good to the small retailers. First of all Nestle forecasts the sales and manufactures the products as per the results of forecasting. After that the products are manufactured in the plant. Here the distribution team plays its role. All the products are send to the carriage and forwarding agents of the company from its Manufacturing unit. After receiving the products, carriage and forwarding agents distribute the products to the distributors and super stockists. The distributor is responsible to manage the availability of products in a the area assigned to him. Super stockist supplies the good to the Re-Distributor who is in charge of managing the availability outside the region of the distributor.
