The Chapel Bridge was built in 1365 and was re-built again after fire in 1993. It attracts many tourists.
Travelers and tourists from other countries come to see them and are very impressive by the scenes, castles and Alps. These scenes not only make the country beautiful, but also very attractive to the travelers and tourists. This is why Switzerland is a great place for travelling.
Culture
Switzerland is a nation of full of traditions. There are over 100 fun and enjoyable holidays and festivals through out the year for celebrating foods, religions, and fall harvest. The Swiss peoples love and enjoy gathering and celebrating festivals and holidays with their families and friends.
The wine and cheese festivals are very common and celebrate few times a year. The music festivals are mostly held in summer. The national day is at the first of August, it is celebrated by having fire works, concerts and yodeling. The Christmas in Switzerland is very special. Santa Clause will give out candies and presents to the people on the street. The Swiss decorate the houses, sing carols, wrap presents, bake cookies, and go to the church. All these make this cold and windy season full of joy and peace. The Basler Fasnatch is another festival, which lasted for 3 days. It starts at 4:00am at the market square. Men dress like
Uruguay is a fantastic country. Being just south of Brazil, it has lots of grassland and is a pretty small country. This country is just below Brazil's southern borders. “But its land is rich in agricultural bounty, with rolling pastures that support cattle, sheep, and crops,” (Behnke, 4). The country has a stellar physical geography, humid climate, thriving economy, national type of government, unique culture, and multiple fun facts.
Out of the twenty-one Spanish speaking countries, Colombia is one of those. Colombia is located in South America and is bordered by Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. The kind of government that Colombia has is a Republic, which their president is Juan Manuel Santos, and the currency they use is a Colombian Peso. Their population is 47.15 million, and they have a life expectancy of 75.25 years. The capital of Colombia is Santa Fe de Bogota, which holds 8.743 million people of Colombia's population. "The flag of Colombia is set up in the colors that have meanings of the country. Yellow represents all the gold found in the Colombian land, blue represents the sea on Colombia's shores, the rivers that run through, and the sky above,
In Paul Celan’s poem “Zurich, at the Stork,” the narrator and Nelly Sachs have a theological debate about God. The narrator says that he “spoke / against him [God]” which demonstrates Celan’s presumably newfound disdain for God (2280). Seeing as most of Celan’s poetry revolves around the second World War, this hatred likely stems from his time in a concentration camp. While Celan spends his time arguing against God, Sachs counters him by saying “We / really don’t know, you know” which demonstrates how little humans know about God. To Celan, God likely appeared as someone who does not care about humans nor wished to prevent events like the Holocaust from happening after already happening once. In contrast, Sachs does not appear to have this
The festivities last for a whole month: from December 6th, the feast of St. Nichols, until January 6th, the feast of the wise men. Similar to the American Christmas traditions, Christmas trees are a large part of the holiday celebration. In Germany, unlike America, the Christmas tree is secretly brought into the house the night of Christmas Eve and is decorated by the mother. Trees are most famously decorated with hand blown glass ornaments and tinsel. Another German tradition unlike America’s is that presents are usually exchanged and opened on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas Day. Germans also celebrate Zweiter Weihnactsfeirtag the day after Christmas. Zweiter Weihnactsfeirtag directly translates to Boxing Day, the holiday also celebrated in Canada. Though unlike Canada, where Boxing Day is a time for shopping and finding discounts, in Germany, Boxing Day is like a second Christmas. Families spend time with their grandparents and godparents. Things like board games, watching TV, and other typical bonding activities are done. This day, for the Germans, is a quiet day to relax and prepare for the rest of the Christmas
Other than the traditional experiences of church, holidays, and family celebrations, I celebrate my culture by enjoying things that life has to offer. I enjoy going celebrating the arts and music. For instance, every year I go to about 10 music concerts or festivals. I appreciate the different kinds of music and people that come together at these events.
My first reason is their amazing national parks. My evidence is that Kluane National Park is rated 5 stars and many people go to see the amazing views and animals. Many other parks are famous and are visited often.
Johann and Rike are living in Soulard when the first four congressionally designated federal holidays are created in 1870. They are New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. This is strictly a federal acknowledgement of four holidays that that have been celebrated in St. Louis for many years. Christmas, largely a private, family-oriented holiday, is certainly celebrated by Johann and Rike. This probably includes exchanging a few small inexpensive gifts, a trimmed tree with strings of popcorn and cranberries, hand-crafted ornaments, and candles. Santa Claus, Christmas trees, greeting cards, and turkey or goose dinners are traditions that have been firmly entrenched in the German community. The Fourth of July celebration is celebrated with parades, brass bands playing music, and fireworks in the evening. For Johann, this holiday undoubtedly brings back painful memories of what took place in Hyde Park in 1863.
For example every year, millions of Mexicans get together in the streets to celebrate Mexico’s Independence the night before with el Grito de Dolores. On el Dia de Los Muertos, people go out to the cemeteries of their beloved family members to decorate their tombs with beautiful flowers, and the streets are filled with people
It is usually celebrated at graveyards or in homes. In the graveyards, the families clean the graves of their loved ones. Then they decorate the graves with things like candles, food, drinks, flowers, and photos. They also stay up all night in the graveyards telling stories about their dead ancestors.
America prides itself on being the "Place that is known for Fresh chances to succeed". Ordinary a great many individuals come to America, both legitimately and wrongfully, to locate a superior life than what they have in their local nation. In this manner, there has turned into an assumption that America is the best nation on the planet. In any case, this conviction is false. America is really a nation secured in its own imperfections that incorporate an unequal monetary framework, most elevated social insurance, and a lacking open framework.
The aroma of schnitzel, pomme frites, and café filled the air, as we would walk the road from our home to downtown Wiesbaden. My family and I must have walked that path hundreds of times. The lights lining Wilhelmstrasse at night, large Weinachtsmarkts in the winter and the Rhein Main Grille are the most vivid memories of my time spent outside of the United States. Fall and winter were my favorite times of the year because of the many celebrations during the holiday season. My family made life-long friends at our favorite restaurants, such as the Rhein-Main Grille, as well as the owners of the local markets.
For my family, we use these holidays and traditions to help keep the family together. We have these specific holidays because they are what my both my parents grew up with along with the rest of their family from previous generations. Our annual pig roast on the first Saturday of August on the other hand, was started by my father and is used to bring all our family and friends together before the kids in our family and neighborhood have to go back to school and let them have a fun time for both children and adults.
The country that I choose is Iceland. Iceland is very unique and interesting not only because of its clean air and amazing scenery but also its natural beauty and landscapes. Nature is a big force of Iceland but the volcano’s, waterfalls, and glaciers seem to attract most tourist. There landforms are probably the most unique. The Northern Lights is also something that people find very interesting because how it is created and the view you can see. It is something that everyone should see at some point in their life. The sources that I choose to use to research the Physical Geography, Economics, History, Cultural, and Political
Both countries view family as a key aspect of their life. German have a strong bond with family. For example, everybody goes back home for reunion at Christmas and Easter. Family would spend time together for enjoying the long holiday. Chinese also emphasize family gathering and reunion, just as German do. During the Spring Festival, a number of Chinese would travel from the city they are working at back to their hometown in order to celebrate and gather, given the fact that the Spring Festival is the most important festival to Chinese.
