There are many ways of discriminating against a minority. It may not be apparent to you that it is going on at FBHS. The Spanish for natives classes, which are not honors, provide an advantage for non-hispanics. I take the natives class, which is basically an accelerated path of Spanish. Since the first class teaches what a non-natives class considers 1 and 2. The second teaches Spanish 3 and 4. This accelerated path is on a 4.0 scale. An accelerated path of math which is three classes in two years is on a 4.5 scale. Spanish for natives is 4 classes in 2 years. So, Spanish for natives is a more rigorous course, with a lower scale. I know peers of mine that have lied about being bilingual so they will have an easier class. It is a shame to
Many questions have risen in this day and age in which ones wealth can greatly effect almost every aspect of their lives. There has been much controversy as to whether the recognition of socioeconomic classes are for the benefit of society as a whole. Socioeconomic class is defined as some combination of occupation, education, and income level (Heimer 802). A good society consists of equality, support for the government, educated individuals, better living conditions, and low crime rates. As research will show, socioeconomic classes contribute to social inequality, lower support for the government, subpar education levels, income insecurity for some classes, lower living conditions, trouble transitioning into adulthood, and higher crime rates. Therefore, socioeconomic classes are a detriment to society and do more harm than good for the people.
The problems of today’s youth can be viewed through the lens of social generations and social class. Social divisions and inequalities have plagued the youth. With increased challenges being faced, the social division and inequalities between generation and within generations have continued to grow and change the social structure of the society. The notions of generation and class help us view the problems from varied perspectives, however both theories present their own limitations.

Social class is a “tag” to define your status in a community. One of the main requirements you must have to be in the Upper class, is to have wealth and power. That is basically it, and obviously the absence of those characteristics could mean you are in a Middle or even in the Lower class. Sports are an activity that people do for pleasure that requires physical activity and sometimes has rules for the players to follow in order to play the game. It is most commonly played outdoors. It can improve your cardio, health, and physical condition. For example, it can prevent things like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer or even mental illnesses like depression.

The main reason opportunities are limited are because of America’s social inequality. As a New England woman of post-American Revolution, I expect that America will end its restrictive customs towards women and that women of all social classes will have the opportunity to obtain equal rights, in which women previously did not have. Formerly, men controlled all public institutions, including government, legislatures, and juries. Men did not allow women to have the freedom to express their opinions on public issues. In fact, women of the upper class engaged in debate with opinions through diaries and letters. However, it would be a pleasure for all women to be able to engage in politics rather than just the upper class. Specifically, they can participate in public debates and hold the same jobs that men had during pre-Revolution.
Australia has suffered a large gap in education due to socio-economic class. Generations ago, social class was a major part of society that separated the different classes especially in education. The wealthy attended school and only a percentage of the poor received little education as most left school to help provide for the family. The proletariat, boxed into cramped houses, while the bourgeoisie reside in mansions that jut up towards the sky touching the clouds. The Great Gatsby (2013), based on Fitzgerald’s 1925 novel, focuses on a relationship between a man and a woman who belong to different social classes in the 1920s. They are members of the Lost Generation, those in their 20s and 30s in the years immediately following World War I, and spent their lives searching for purpose. The Lost Generation grew up during the war, when most Americans were supporting the war effort on the homefront. After the war, the Lost Generation searched for an alternate purpose to the war effort. The movie’s interpretation of the Lost Generation expresses the importance of social class and general aimlessness often satisfied through material accumulation.
Another factor that affects identity is social class. The Marxism assumption is that socio-economic position is a fundamental element to shape identity. People are not individuals, but part of a class. The Marxist ideology is that of “false consciousness”, this meaning that some classes, the lower, working class, are not aware of the position they have to society.
