Based off my result after taking the VIA Survey of Character Strengths survey my first strength is my judgment, my effective use of critical thinking, and my open-mindedness. I agree with this because I actually spend more time thinking things through and assessing the cost and rewards than I do with the action I was originally thinking about. The Second Strength was Fairness, equity, and justice. I do agree with this strength but its description is not how I would describe it. I treat all people fairly and how I would want to be treated. I may give everyone a chance but ultimately I believe you get what you give; if you treat others good will get the same in return. What effect has Anglo-Saxon and Medieval Cultures had on today’s society? Anglo-Saxon culture has had a lasting effect on todays society with their stories, tradition, and advances. Anglo and Medieval cultures have left an effect on today’s society, these cultures have also influenced todays idealism and pragmatism.

Have you ever thought about your personal strengths? A few of my personal strengths are that I am a good lacrosse player, am a good leader, and a good thinker. I have played lacrosse since second grade. For my leadership, I was selected to be the Zion house leader. Society is a social construct, a bunch of strict ‘rules’ set to be the normal in society. Some societies may view things normally when does something certain but another society may see it as deviant. Two societies that differ majorly would be Anglo-Saxon society and today's society. Anglo-Saxon society lasted from about 410 AD to 1066 A.D. Though there are many difference from Anglo Saxon society and our society there are things that are still similar such as loyalty to your ‘leader’, and people wanting revenge for when they've been wronged. In Anglo Saxon society the citizens were utterly loyal to their king.

According to the StrengthsFinder survey, my five greatest strengths are: communication, achiever, woo, competition and ideation (Clifton PH.D, Anderson, PH.D, & Schreiner PH.D, 2006). I have utilized the above mentioned strengths in various ways, such a talking with classmates, being ahead of schedule, and trying to come up with ways to get homework done.

There are two areas of strength I have identified. The first strength is self-awareness/self-management from the Interpersonal Skills and Personal Characteristics category. The second strength is public speaking from the General Personal Skills category. In the past, I would not have considered these as strengths, but over time they have become an integral asset as I have progressed in my personal life and career. I have been able to utilize them to my advantage in order to receive effective feedback such as constructive criticism or when I have a disagreement with others.

First, for my strengths I can set my goals, support my opinion with facts, and remember the important information when I have an exam, take notes from the textbook, get to class on time, participate in the class, take study breaks, study alone, come to class prepared, locate information for research projects, evaluate information for researching, use critical thinking skills to solve problems, use social media for academic and career purposes, develop respectful relationships with faculty and classmates, and completing my work on time.
