“Well, believe it or not, it’s true.” Dean’s voice was low as he let go of her arm and leaned back on the couch. “Though I guess my timing isn’t the best for it to sound sincere.” “You know someone wanting to murder me really isn’t a good time for anything, if I’m being honest,” Rachel tried to laugh it off, but she was a little breathless and her heart was fluttering just a bit from his touch. The best time for what to sound sincere? Was there more to that statement than Rachel wanted to believe? “It got me a date, didn’t it?” Dean gave her a little smirk before he flipped the channel and the eleven o’clock news came on. They darkened and sharpened, brown turning almost black. His lips curled back almost like a snarl, showing slightly yellowed teeth, like he was a smoker. There was a moment that Rachel was sure that he was going to reach out, grab her, hurt her. She was sure that her heart stopped beating for a moment. Instead, after a long moment, he gave her one last long look, turned, and left the café. The next person in line started to tell Rachel their order, but she couldn’t hear them. The blood pounding in her ears now that her heart was beating so fast that it was almost painful. Luckily, she was able to mutter out that someone would be right with them before making her way over to Dean’s table, feeling as if her legs were jelly. “Hey, what’s-” the good natured tone dropped out of his voice immediately and he got to his feet, seeing how pale she was. “What is it? What happened?” “He…he was here, at the counter,” Rachel mumbled out, holding onto the table to keep herself upright. “He ordered a burger.” “Right now,” Dean looked over her shoulder and saw that there was a woman there. “He just left?
