The samurai of Japan were a very loyal and honorable people. In ancient times the samurai’s lives were filled with discipline and intense training. The warriors were always ready for war or an attack, for they had developed a sixth sense. The samurai were important in history for their swords and art.
First of all, the samurai’s katana, long sword was crucial to their lives because it was their main form of protection and also because of its cultural value. It states in trueswords.com, “the samurai’s katana was his primary source of self defence.” The samurai’s swords were essential in their lives because, as the combatants of Japan, the samurai never knew when they could be attacked and the warriors needed some way to defend themselves from enemies. Their art was a form of perfection that has been admired even today. Two of their several perfections are their poems and their tea ceremonies. In a samurai rap named Samurai Warrior rap (Bloom, 2013) stated,“ Five, seven, five were the haiku syllables…” This is explaining how their poems called haikus and the structure of the haikus were made in the syllables five, seven, and the five again. Even though they were short poems they would be very beautiful or they would link two or three haikus together. In the poems it used sensory details and certain descriptions to match a certain setting.They were one of the most excellent perfections of the samurai. They are also specialized in tea ceremonies which were used in many different ways to do certain things. (Bloom,2013) stated “...yet tea ceremonies was important for alliance, samurai needed to insure good compliance…” This means that they would perform this ritual and if they “passed” they would make an alliance. They needed to insure good compliance in order to “pass” the ritual. In other words if they followed the rules they would pass the ritual. These two forms of art are still valued
