Delegation in nursing practice will be discussed in this essay. Delegation will be clearly and concisely defined and described as following:
The company that I chose to do my presentation on is Maurices Store. I worked in retail as a manager for 12 years at the former County Seat and one of my assistants is still working retail as a manager at Maurices here in Dubuque. I was interested in choosing retail sales because it is where I started and I wanted to see how it has changed over the years.

I am applying for the UL Lafayette College of Nursing & Allied Health Professions Nursing Scholarship to hopefully earn a scholarship award to assist me with financing my college education. I do not have an on-campus or off-campus job at the time which benefits me by allowing more of my time to be dedicated to my studies. I am a focused and self-motivated student who strives to earn the best grades possible in my college courses. I am a determined student because I want to become an efficient and effective nurse when I graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I know that I will graduate as a professional and competent nurse who demonstrates evidence-based practice, emphasizes quality and safety measures in care settings, and provides the utmost patient-centered care.

The most rewarding aspect of the medical field is at the end of the day, when you have given all you heart and soul in the process of helping a patient feel better. The smile that is fixed on a patient’s face at the end of the day is very satisfying to a nurse. My duties consist of going in to the patient home and adhering to the medical orders that has been transcribed by the medical doctor. Self-care is taking a strategic measure to ensure that one is safe and stays in focus. They are personal decisions that one takes for to improve their health. In this case, my self-care is to ensure that I remain in line with the nursing school and nursing career in general, and set strategies to implement the key options that I have chosen. These include time management, exercising, and working fewer hours while in nursing school. The field of nursing is diverse (Lever, 2010, p. 105). It requires focus to be able to cope with the daily challenges. However, caution should be taken when pursuing nursing as a profession. Nursing school requires discipline and compliance to the regulation in both class and at work. The paper will discuss the various measures that I will adopt to secure my future career in nursing and highlight how I will cope with stress while in nursing school.
Work Experience: Prior experience utilizing electronic health records, one year clerical experience in a hospital or physician office required.

High quality patient care has been linked to a well-educated nursing workforce. After completion and graduation of an entry-level nursing program, graduate nurses are able to sit for the National Council Licensure Exam for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN©) (Rosseter, 2013). The NCLEX-RN© test for “ minimum technical competency for safe entry into basic nursing practice” (Rosseter, 2013, p. 1). The examination does not test for difference in graduate nurses, nursing programs, skill acquisition, expert knowledge, or performance over time. Therefore, the passing of the licensure examination does not validate that all entry-level nurses are equally prepared (Rosseter, 2013).
