For me this quote means that you always have to be the best version of yourself, and that in life there will always be sacrificces in order to be succesful. For me as a Latina, giving the best of me at school or at work is a sacrifice because there have been a lot of times where I felt like give up, but I do not do it because I have someone at home whos following my steps, and every day I sacrifice myself for my family and also for my community, at the end of the day all the sacrifices are going to be rewared. My gift is to be a better person than what I was the day before, learn from my mistakes and use them as a strength. This quote fits perfectly for the Latino community because most of our parents emigrated from their country to the United
Being Hispanic is a big part of who I am. I am proud to represent a race that is so full with hard working people with big aspirations and diverse culture. I am proud to be a female Hispanic that will be the first generation in my family that will go to a four year
As of 2014, the Latino community has become the largest minority group in the United States, making up around 17% (roughly 55 Million) of the population alone (CNN News). However, due to the lack of news and media coverage that Hispanics/Latinos receive, people are uninformed about the community. The small portion of the media that does talk about the Latino community often has false information that tends to leave a negative impression of Latinos. By informing Americans about Latinos, they will get an idea of what 17% of the county is actually made of. Even though some people believe that there is enough media coverage in the Latino community, there should be more positive media coverage for the Latino community. Americans need to know about what is actually happening in the Latino community, because Latinos are the largest minority group in the U.S, Latinos have a strong work ethic, and the Latino community has made a major impact of the American culture.
The quote is important because it shows how life and the world work. It reminds me of how in the real world, no one is never truly prepared for what life throws at them. Bad things happen, and the best we can do is prepare for when that scenario happens.
“My fellow Americans, we are and always will be a nation of immigrants. We were strangers once, too.” This quote, spoken by Barack Obama in 2014, is about the topic of the immigration system. Immigrants are what make up America, and all that come here are faced with great difficulty. They can face discrimination, struggles getting on their feet, and strive for the American Dream. The American Dream is a belief that everyone will have equal opportunities to succeed and get a better life. This is found in the hearts of almost all immigrants, no matter where they come from. This had led to waves of people flooding into the United States. The most notable wave that has occurred was in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. During this time, thousands of Lithuanians flooded through Ellis Island into America; their change from their lives in Lithuania, to their work experience and education, their lives in America had overall left a positive impact on society.
“Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists” ("Franklin D. Roosevelt").

This quote is asking what someone thinks it means. This means many things. From other perspectives, many believe this quote full on because many people have had many relationships with different people. Some of those people have passed and when they think of that of course they become sad that they had passed but everyone has taught me something. My grandfather taught me how to make people laugh and how to always find the greatness in every situation you face in life. He also taught me how to play Pac-Man when I was three. My grandma taught me how to be tough. She was 4’ 10” and she was a champ. She taught me how to defend myself and that everyone is equal no matter what, so others might believe that this quote is very

This quote is so valuable and poignant to me because it tells a story, not through words, but through its depiction of life, as it illustrates spirit, a desire to stand and fight, and it is these core concepts that determine who we are. Hence, my personal connection to this quote as I believe it is one’s choices, not fate, nor destiny that
Just when you think you are good, you can actually be better. Never settle for mediocre, but try surprising yourself and reach far beyond what you can imagine. Your success in life does not rely on fate, but it depends on the effort you put in achieving your goals in life. The quote has a similar theme with the first two lines of the second stanza in the poem “If”. It is okay to dream and visualize your goals in life. But do not let it control you without making it into reality. In life, you may experience the highest of the highs and lowest of the lows, which will both teach you to become a better person. Know that we all have our strengths and limitations, which defines who we are. Correlating the quote, the poem “If” and the poem “Still I Rise” altogether, they all speak about knowing one’s self serving-worth, not relying on chances or what other people dictate, but rather making your dream into reality despite the difficulties you will face in life. You make your choice and you will be responsible for whatever actions you
And that is all there really is, one’s choice on how to view or use the abilities and qualities we have, as well as the knowledge and lessons we come to learn. Because our future and our accomplishments do not rely on the world we face or the society we live in, they don’t come from our ability to be the best and always succeed, but from the capacity to acknowledge that with whatever we are and whatever we have, is more than
Choices run our life. These choices make us who we are, they bring despair and happiness. In the book “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” by J.K. Rowling Albus Dumbledore says, “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” This quote really means that our abilities are not as important as our choices on how successful out life is. There are plenty of real life situations where this quote comes in place.
As we grow older there are lot of things happens in our life, there are lot of problem that challenge us to see how far can we go, how long can we endure it. In this quote tells us that no matter what happens we should stand still and continue what we started to do. Sometimes we fail but it’s not mean that we should give up it means that it’s not yet the end we should stand up and continue what should we do until we solve every challenges that comes to our life.
This quote is reliable for every single person in this world. This quote is very motivational and supportive for everyone because we would not get life for twice and it is better to use this life very wisely. Sometimes people stop trying due to lack of self esteem and motivation which are the most two important things everyone need in their life. This quote relates to my life in many ways. I am not a robot that I will not have emotion. Sometimes being in an emotional situation, many make huge mistakes which will impact life afterwards in the future. It is very crucial to think twice before we do something because future depends on the present.
