Utilizing databases within a department allows users to access various types of information all at once as well as link information from different sources. Information data is processed, organized or summarized, records data is a collection of logically related fields or items, and file data is a collection of related sequence of records.
I am utilizing the Relational Database in my proposal. According to Murthy, data in a relational database, is mainly represented in tables and is considered to be an assortment of relations. A relational database is similar to a spreadsheet, in that a relational database organizes data in tables. The table is then made up of rows and columns. A row is also known as a record or tuple, and a column is also known as called a field or attribute. Relational database affects my daily life because I use at work all the time. I started to work as a caregiver and I have to have many fields for many occasions, for example I need to do a table for her food and have breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner as her fields to identify what she will be her choices in having that day. Some of the challenges faced by relational databases were the mismatch that resulted when transforming graphs into tables. On the other hand, when a database was needed only for simples tasks like logging, the relational database had too much more than what was required. Web applications have many different types of attributes which does not fit easily into a relational database, which makes it a burden to handle.
