Kasey sleepily looked around her dirty home. She realized there were cups and food all over the place and people knocked out on the couches. Her only concern right now was wasn’t how she was going to clean up the huge mess from the party she threw the night before but how she was going to make all these people wake up and make them leave. Kasey noticed her friend Alison near by and realized she was the only person who would be willing to help her out. She shouted Alison’s name and rattled her awake. As Alison woke up they both realized Kasey’s parents would be home in 2 hours after being away for the weekend to visit their friends. Before they could think or say another word the only noise in the room was the screech of the front door opening. …show more content…
Kasey thought to her self “ Im so screwed.” After everyone left and Kasey apologized to them for being woken up that way, Kasey and her friend Alison started to clean the house while her parents sat at the kitchen table trying to control their temporary anger. Kasey tried not to make conversation with her parents as it was obvious they were already angry and was afraid any more comments from her might just upset them even more. After they cleaned and the house was as clean as it would get for now, her parents thought it was a good idea to send Alison home. My parents sat me down and explained to me in a surprisingly calm voice that they needed to have an important conversation with me. They started the conversation by explaining how disappointed they were with me because they had confidence in me being alone and this is how I re payed them; by having a huge party. As the conversation kept going on they also mentioned how ever since I started high school the Kasey they raised was starting to slowly fade away. They said how soon it will be my senior year and they received a call from my principal that I might not graduate due to my poor effort and lack of accomplishments. As the conversation was coming to an end they said something that stuck with me “ Your life is going to be a long and tough one unless something changes.” Then something they said really caught my attention “ Thats why your mother and I decided that you will spend your senior year at Military
December 17th, that is my birthday. Having switched school counties in middle school my birthdays always had to find the best of both worlds between two different groups of friends. Well, I had recently discovered the magic of social storytelling in games like Dungeons & Dragons. At this point three of my friends and I would meet up every two weeks for a late night session of fantasy tabletop role-playing. These nights were the high points of our social lives; it only made sense that I wanted ALL of my friends to experience this awesome game. So, I invited everyone asking them to come over around 6:00 p.m. and expect to be there until around midnight. I loaded up on snacks, came up with an adventure for us all to go through, and actually cleaned a little. Everything was set up for everyone to have fun, eat snacks, stay up late, and hopefully find a new hobby. Unfortunately that is not at all what happened.
Crunching rocks filled the girl's ears as she woke up. Allison was unaware that she had ever fallen asleep. She opened her eyes and glanced at her phone, which had stopped playing music about an hour ago, based on the fact that it had reached the end of the playlist. "Wake up honey, we're here," Allison's mother whispered. Allison sat up straight and looked out her window. The sun was shining bright for the first time in ages. Allison suddenly spotted her friends walking their horses to the stables.
Next to the front door, Noah had propped a backpack up against the wall. From it, he fished out car keys, hissing as they crashed against each other. He packed his car halfway down the block tonight so his mother wouldn’t hear it as it scuffled down the driveway, see the headlights as he sped off. He shouldered the backpack, readjusting his balance as the weight shook him back and forth. He sent another glance towards upstairs, to his mother’s bedroom. She would hate him for this. She would destroy him for this.
Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hannah all go home just to realize more letters for them on the doors of their rooms. They all ask themselves why, who is it that is doing this, how’d they get in? The girls sat down on Aria’s bed and talk about what is going on already and if they should tell anyone until they read the letter that was a threatening note. It said, “If you tell anyone, you will never see your parents again.” The girls were so scared, but they knew if they told anyone it would be their fault that their parents were dead. They thought they had gotten away from all the scary letters, blackmailing, and threats, but they didn’t. It wasn’t over. Hannah brought them all into her room to have a discussion that they all promised each other they would
I heard soft footsteps coming for my door. Knock, knock. “Come in,” I sighed. My mom opened the door and walked over to my bed. I could smell her sweet perfume, and was overwhelmed with a feeling of content. “Madison, my cell phone is out of minutes for the month and I need to call somebody about an ad on craigslist. It won’t be long, sweetheart.” Tony always paid her phone bill, and they were on the same contract. My feeling of content faded into disappointment. I argued with my mom for a short moment, and soon realized it was not worth it. I handed over my shiny, yet beat up purple flip phone. Mom, looking a little guilty, strolled out of my room. I decided to follow her so that I could help myself to some dinner. Holding my phone in her hand, my mom, almost skipping, made it down the stairs and out the front door in record time. “Why is she going outside to make a phone call?” I asked myself. I searched the fridge and the cupboards for any sign of food that actually looked good to me. I didn’t find anything, so I huffed to myself and turned out of the deserted kitchen and back up the stairs. Instead of going into my dreadfully boring room, I walked into my sister’s room. “Madison, what the hell? Why don’t you ever knock?” Sydnie asked, accusingly. “I’m sorry,” I wasn’t sorry, “I just can’t find anything to eat and I’m bored. And Mom is outside on the phone with some person about something. My phone.” Syd squinted at me with her soft blue eyes through her freshly dyed black hair and her heavy dark eyeliner. She had been busy typing away on the Acer laptop she’d gotten for Christmas months before. She took her eyes off me and focused back onto the screen of her laptop. I stood there in her doorway sluggishly for minutes before she finally lifted herself out of her twin size bed and made her way through her messy room. I can’t remember a time when Sydnie’s room was clean. She
Amanda finished cleaning the mess and the house, and she went to find Tabby to ask to go to the party. She looked all over for Tabby, and could not find her. But she did find a note on the fridge that said “see you later.” Then she knew that her step-sisters had already left without her. She threw herself down and started crying wishing that she could have cleaned faster, and
The sweet aroma of a freshly baked cake circulates through every room of the small house as the cake sits on the stove top to cool. Colorful balloons are decoratively and strategically placed all over the living room and the kitchen as Kaitlyn prepares for her best friend, Sarah’s, birthday celebration. Strolling through each room, Kaitlyn scans the product of her tireless preparation. She rushed to see what was happening. The night before, Paul had drank himself into oblivion. He had awakened in a very foul mood. When she walked into her mother’s bedroom, Paul was hovering over Nova on the bed, repeatedly punching her in the face and head. She quickly noticed that her mother was frantically trying to protect something in her arms. Nova was screaming “Paul! Get off me!” repeatedly. It was Joey, Kayla’s eight month old brother, with a bottle in his mouth! As Paul violently struck Nova again, Kayla sprinted across the room and yanked the baby from Nova’s arms. She ran, with Joey crying in her arms, to the telephone in the kitchen. Kayla was trembling with fear and anger as she clumsily dialed 911. As the operator answered “911. What is your emergency?” Paul stormed into the kitchen, grabbed the phone from her hand and shattered it against the wall. He then proceeded to yell at Kayla, with a fire of rage burning in his eyes, shouting “Who the hell do you think you are? Coming into my house? I provide this house, your food, and the electricity for you! But you are and ungrateful little brat! Man, I don’t need this from
The house lights began flashing and prolonged for time . Screams of ten- year olds Annela and George were heard and soon came to a silence when their bodies dropped to the ground. Patty awoke to the sound of her alarm clocking going off. She reached her arm out from under the covers and hit the snooze button. For a brief moment, in between sleep and waking. For a moment she almost forgotten that her father was murdered, that she would never be able t see him, touch him or hear his laugh again. All her troubles seemed so far away, like the where some part of a bad dream that her mind was forcing her to remember. Only it wasn’t one, it was her life now, the more she stirred under the sheets the more it sunk in. She had to live with the fact that her father was murdered, and he was never coming back. Just because he was gone didn’t mean she couldn’t do everything within her power to bring the men responsible to justice. She wiggled her way out from under the sheets, her hair a matted mess. She blew at a few strands of hair that fell in her face, they danced slowly within her breath before falling back to her face. She rolled her eyes, it was to early in the morning to worry about her hair.
I started playing Dungeons and Dragons when I didn't have a ride home and my friend Quinn convinced me to stay a few hours after school. Back then no one would DM for our group so my friend Shine Aung became our Dungeon Master. For about two years shine was my DM, he controlled the game, made the people we fought, voiced the NPCs we argued with; He created the world we played in. At the beginning of this year, I started listening to a podcast that had a D&D segment, Beyond nerdy I know. But D&D is more than a group of role-playing nerds. It builds storytelling, communication, and strategy.
We heard Alexis’ dad coming down the stairs so we all pretended to be sleeping on the couch. When he got in the shower we all sat up and realized we wanted to do something. Alexis opened her bathroom door and told her dad we were going upstairs to sleep. We then ran out the front door and down the alley. It was cold, we had nothing to do. I’m not really sure why we did this, there wasn’t anything to do at 5am.
