Employees are Publix’s major collaborator. Publix is widely known as having employees for over ten years at a time, with people graduating from college and coming back for jobs. As a result of this, another major collaborator is their customers. Publix has certain employee policies in place to quickly acknowledge the customer (10-Foot and the 10-Second Rules), and certain management initiatives to get them to personally meet a specified amount of regular customers. These policies allow for immediate and local feedback, and help Publix effectively work through the four stages of customer intimacy.
