Dear freshman,
First and foremost, you did it! You survived all crammed hallways, the cliques, and all the times you thought your parents were controlling you way too much. As this new chapter opens you will soon realize that your parents were always right and you really do need to not procrastinate and should balance your school and social life. College truly is the best four years of your life, but there are a few things you must always keep in the back of your mind.
1. Always go to class.
This is hands down the best advice anyone can give you. It may seem like a given that “oh I have to go to class today.,” but no one is here to hold your hand. All the training wheels are off once you step foot on campus. You have to want to go to class,

Get Involved
You must always have an open mind in college. Whether it is from trying new foods, or joining the most organizations as possible, try it! Yes, you are there for your studies but you have to find time to get out of your dorm room or the library! If you just sit in your room, those four walls will become very small. Go to all the interest meetings there are, take all those flyers they give you in the quad. You can't count something out until you try it. Whether it’s you joining the Hide and Seek Club or even going Greek there IS a spot for you on campus somewhere, you just have to find your home.
5. Do NOT wait to register for your

There are only a limited amount of seats per class or only certain times for each class so it's a race against the clock. If the class fills up you just have to wait for the next semester or hope someone drops. A few hours lost of sleep one night makes up for the stress that comes with having a bad schedule with awkward times or getting professors that don't fit your learning style.
6. Shorts and a T-Shirt will be your best friend
When you wake up late, only have time to brush your teeth, grab your bag and sprint half way across campus to make it to your 8 am, or lets face it even you noon classes, you will realize everyone else on campus is in the same boat. The way you dress is probably going to be the last thing on your list of To-Do’s. By the third week in, you will want to cherish every second you can to catch up on sleep or the studying you put off so you could sleep. Throwing on the closest thing possible will soon become second nature. The last bit of advice I can give you is simply this; it really is okay to not know what you want to do in college or even better yet with your life. You are meant to grow up in college and find out who you truly are. Don't stress over every little thing, and enjoy every little bit of it, because before you know it, it will be over.
It's with distinct pleasure that I write to support Marina Wagdy's application for the Student Leadership program.
The initial shock of the significant workload and expectations can take their toll, but good time management skills can prevent multiple late nights in a row to get assignments done on time. Kelci Lynn Lucier has worked in higher education for ten years, and has experienced students struggle to try and find the balance between extracurricular activities, personal activities, and education priorities. Luckily, Lucier has four tips to help best use the time provided in a day. Lucier’s first step focuses on managing ones academic time and how it needs to be the top priority above all other curricular activities, stating: “It's important to remind yourself why you're in college in the first place: to graduate” (Lucier). Lucier’s second step is be able to manage personal time, she talks about how unrealistic it is to always be working, studying, or learning, she wants students to try and find time to do something fun with friends or a club. Lucier’s third step is to wkeep the students health in mind, it does no good to stay up until two in the morning studying over a history mid-term, only to be half asleep for the test anyway; sleep is important and without can only increase the stress. Lucier’s fourth and final step is to not be afraid to seek help with your time management, she states: “The most important thing to have for time
To begin this letter, I would like to thank you for donating prayer and money to support Diamond Willow Ministries. You were very much a huge part of my recent trip there, as well as the boys camp that took place through the ministry.
The thought of new adventures I will encounter and the freedom I will gain in college makes me ecstatic. Your First Year of College: 25 Strategies and Tips to Help You Survive and Thrive Your Freshman Year and Beyond written by Randall S. Hansen, who is an entrepreneur who is focused on helping people with college success and health and wellness. “Get enough sleep, take your vitamins and eat right.” Getting enough sleep can improve your focus and agility. The author suggest that if you stay healthy, get enough sleep, and take your vitamins you should have a better chance of avoiding the “Freshman 15.” Without having your parents around to serve you a good balanced meal, one may be tempted to go for the cookies
You must come in and tune in to their address. On the off chance that you always appear late or don't appear at all of a sudden, you will be punished an excessive number of punishments and you'll doubtlessly fall flat the class obviously, it relies upon the teacher's participation arrangement. Coming up short the class is what might as well be called landing let go from your position aside from you don't get a re-try once you're really terminated this can set you up for adulthood from multiple points of view. If somebody somehow happened to ask me something they could anticipate from a time of school I would state organizing being prepared to be grown-up and training setting you up for an exceptionally positioned
Your Professor’s don’t really care about what you do. They don’t care if you don’t show up to class or not. A tip I would give you is to make sure your Professor’s know you or at least recognize you, even if that means asking questions the whole class period. Another way that college is different is that you don’t stay in classes for a whole 8 hours, you just go to your class then go back to your room. Another thing is the work load. You get your assignments in the beginning of the year and all your due dates, it’s up to you to get them done and turned in. Also the study habits, are crucial, you have so much time on your hands to do whatever so time management is important. Another thing is parties, there are going to be parties probably every other night so you attending them should be a responsible decision. Do not get caught up in boys and girls either. Relationships will come on their own and the worst thing you could do is get caught doing “The Walk of Shame”. The walk of Shame is basically when you leave to go meet an upperclassman and you have to walk back because he won’t drive you back and you half dressed. In the end, the moral to the story is to make sure you stay on top of your stuff, be responsible, and make good
First of all I would like to introduce myself, I'm Matthew Jurczykowski. And I Am currently in the 8th grade. Speaking of 8th grade this letter is one of our projects the goal is to write someone only a persuasive letter asking for someone to do something for you. So to push the letter forth, the thing I will be asking for is the ability to go on a cab ride in a Diesel locomotive on one of my next visits. I know this a large wish but I have a passion for railroading and it would be a great experience.
“There’s a freshman! Let’s stuff him in the trashcan!” There are so many new things that you learn during your first year of high school. These new things that you learn will either affect you or not affect you the slightest bit. When you don’t quite understand the new things you learn ask an upperclassman they have already been through what you are experiencing.
I have come up with a brilliant idea to build up some school spirit throughout the school community, hot chocolate days in the winter! I believe it is possible that this can put a smile on people's faces and definitely build up some school spirit. Also, I believe it will also prevent children from being cold throughout the school day. Lastly, it can also be a fundraiser for the school. Here’s why I think so.
3. Sleeping. Sleep is a valuable asset in the college world, but sleep too much and you're sure to miss out on some awesome opportunities and people. Try sleeping a healthy amount at a normal time and be awake when the invitations to do things come your way!
This semester in order for me to be successful, I know I have to be discipline in regards to my academic career. In order to be successful, I plan to make sure I set goals for myself. Setting goals will allow me to have something to work towards. By setting goals this will help keep me driven and will act as a record of the advancement I have made. It will also help me to push myself to continue working hard. One of my goals this semester is to achieve all A’s in my classes. In order to achieve this goal, I have to make sure I attend all of my classes. Attending my classes and making sure I am posting on time will keep me in tune with my academics. I also believe it is very important to make sure I know my professor office hours as well and
Thesis Statement: When the projects, exams, and extra-curricular activities start to pile up on one another it seems as though there is not enough time in the day. This is when college students tend to lose precious hours of sleep and the consequences can be costly.
As I graduated high school, I thought college would just be yet another four years of high school, and I was wrong. College opens many new doors in a young man or woman’s life. There are new responsibilities and pressures that you will have to deal with, and with more freedom these responsibilities and pressures can be difficult to handle. College has changed a great deal over the years and these changes, such as more freedoms, make college a much more challenging experience. You need to start preparing for college now by making yourself more responsible and having more self-control. Although you think college is merely partying with easy classes on the side, I have experienced pressures and work loads that make the experience challenging
A prerequisite to success in any in any endeavor is "showing up", and classes are no exception. If you're not showing up to class, you're forfeiting every opportunity provided to you in the classroom.
I remember this lady from ODU clear a day was telling my class her experience of college and her very first day of college .She explain she didn’t know what to make of meeting new people transitioning to a new chapter in like becoming an adult. In college you make a lot of decision of your own she talk about that challenge of people get caught up with partying and keeping up with grades. You have to balance everything because e getting overwhelm she seen it people stresses out with college. It can affect how your behavior and altitude when you become overwhelmed. Her tip for us is take some time to yourself sometime you don’t push yourself so hard. You have to maintain a good schedule to get good results it’s not easy in college it come with a lot of pressure. Listening to here I took that and
