Many individuals fail to understand the sheer magnitude of bloodshed, tribulation, and despair legalized abortion has initiated into the human experience – both in the United States and worldwide. Far more human lives have been violently ended by this immoral decision than any other war or genocide in history. It is one of the most controversial issues in today’s society. Abortion is the intentional decision to murder a human fetus by chemical, medical or surgical procedures. Those who support the rights of abortion argue that women should be able to decide what can be done to their bodies, yet the unborn baby inside a woman is a living being, and terminating that pregnancy is the equivalent of murder. These innocent children should not be held responsible for your mistakes. Don’t terminate pregnancy now, because you may not have children in the future at all. To commence with, during development a human being grows at an astonishingly rapid pace. According to Guttmacher Institute, “89% of all abortions in the United States are performed in the first trimester of pregnancy.” (2005). In the first trimester (16 weeks), the baby’s eyes and eyelids, nose, mouth, and tongue have formed, and the baby's reproductive organs also develop. The cardiovascular system is the first system that begins to function. The baby’s heart begins to circulate their own blood, similar to his mother’s heart, twenty-two days after conception. Electrical brain activity can be detected at six or seven
The vast majority of people in the United States support the rights of woman and men alike. This right makes them free to pursue dreams of happiness and freedom, to do as they choose as long as it does not infringe on the rights of other “humans.” That is honestly the root of the issue with abortion in this country; we firmly believe in the rights of humans, but we treat a fetus as if it was none human. Science has proven through deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) that an unborn baby is indeed human, so if it is human then the only remaining question would be, “When is the fetus alive?” To find the answer, one must first start with the end in mind. This proposal will do just that, start at the end to explain the beginning and through a small amount of compromise, the abortion controversy will be solved with a common sense and responsible approach.
1 out of every 6 women in America has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Reports conclude that 5% of these victims become pregnant, and that’s in America alone. To make matters worse, most of these women cannot afford an abortion and have to live with a constant reminder of the horrible things they’ve been through. That’s why victims of sexual assault should have free access to an abortion if needed.
The human race is in a constant search for the answers of life. The topic of abortion is a very controversial subject in today’s society. The abundance of strong opinions regarding both sides of this argument, has left many Americans confused and undecided about whether abortion should be legal or illegal. It is a mother’s fundamental right to have the option to abort. If society outlaws this right, society is interfering with a mother’s decision pertaining to her own body. A full grown woman feeling comfortable with herself and body is more important than an unborn fetus’s right to life. Abortion will continue to be an issue because every person possesses different morals. Making abortion legal across the country would stress the importance of women's rights, which so many have fought to receive, and would also prevent young teens or rape victim from ruining their lives. Clearly, there are many valid opinions for this issue which is why no one can simply deny the effect of the impact this decision will have on our society.
Do women have the right to choose what she does with her body? When it comes to pregnancy, some women feel as if they shouldn’t keep their baby. Many women face criticism when making the decision to abort their baby because some people don’t support women getting abortions. Although some people believe getting abortions are morally wrong, make a bad situation worse, and have many health risks, for some, getting an abortion is necessary because of lack of money, the age of the mother, how the child was conceived and the health of the mother.
A woman is “officially” pregnant when the sperm has entered the egg and been implanted in the uterus, forming a zygote. In the first three weeks of pregnancy a group of cells called a blastocyst contains a full set of DNA, from mom and dad, which determines things like the sex and eye color (Baby Center… 2016). During week four, the blastocyst has officially become an embryo, and about the size of a poppy seed. It is in week five when the embryo is beginning to develop and consisting of a tiny heartbeat that can beat as twice as fast as yours (Baby Center… 2016). During weeks six and eight, the embryo has developed facial features, arms, legs, finger, toes, nose, and an upper lip. At week nine, the embryo has formed eyes, and at week ten the embryo has officially become a fetus due to the full development of all of the vital organs and they begin to function (Baby Center… 2016). The eleventh week is when the fetus is almost fully developed (Baby Center… 2016). Finally, in week twelve, a woman can hear her baby’s heartbeat at a prenatal check-up. It is typically during weeks eight to twelve when a woman chooses to get an abortion (Planned Parenthood… 2017).
Abortion is murder to an innocent baby and I think it should be illegal. They don’t have an opportunity to choose life or death, its chosen for them. There are two types of abortion one known as a “miscarriage” and that doesn’t take a medical procedure or you have artificially induced abortion where you murder the baby. I do not believe in artificially induced abortion and I would never have one. If you don’t believe in abortion or are against it you should not have one. The baby might still be in your body but its a baby, its alive and it can feel the same pain that we feel as humans. For me being a teen I couldn’t imagine saying I was going to have an abortion. Killing a baby as a teen I think would be even harder than if I was older. If I killed a baby that has done absolutely nothing and had no chance of getting to see the earth or the future it holds would honestly make me very depressed. On the other hand if you don’t want the baby I guess there is a case where you should have an abortion if you’re not going to take care of it or give it the attention that it needs. There is always the answer of putting the baby up for adoption after you have it.
When a woman gives birth, they are choosing to take the many unbelievable and unpredictable paths in their future, but if they choose to end the life inside, they only reveal a brief and quicker path to a broken life. The controversial topic about abortion has been talked about for generations and it’s time to set a limit-20 weeks. Scientific evidence shows After 20 weeks, the fetus begins to take shape of a life form and can at this point feel pain. An unborn baby should have the opportunity to take their first breath. Abortions are not only stopping a human’s chance to make a new influence on the world, but it’s also increasing the chance that the mother could develop mental and emotional effects.
As we all know that abortion has become a very common practice in today’s world. According to CDC, there has been 219 abortion average reported on 1000 live birth ("CDC - Data and Statistics - Reproductive Health," n.d.). Those abortions were legally induced. It is becoming hard for a lot of nurses to stay or contribute to second trimester abortions. A lot nurses have quit their jobs because of witnessing this traumatic events. Currently in Florida, it is prohibited to abort pass 24 weeks in gestation unless there is a life threatening condition persist in a mother and also illegal at any stage if the doctors determined that the fetus is viable. Unfortunately, in some states abortion are allowed till second semester end("Guttmacher Institute
In addition to fetus’s not being a life, another stance is that there should be no regulations on when a woman can get an abortion because as a society we should assume the best of women. It should be assumed that women who choose to have an abortion do it for the right reasons, and are not deciding to have an abortion just because they can. However not all women choose to have an abortion for the right reason, but ultimately it is their decision. Everyone should be allowed to choose what they want to do with their bodies. The women who have abortions for the wrong reasons such as spite, should not influence the overall decision of if women should be allowed to have an abortion. In a similar context, after the terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001, many people decided to categorize all muslims as terrorists based on the fact that the attacker was of the same religion. But just because one woman has an abortion for the wrong reason does not mean all women will, which is why there should be no regulations since every circumstance varies.
Abortion is constantly called on for being a crime and should become illegal. Abortion is considered wrong during late term pregnancy although, the woman's life is being threatened the more she progresses towards the time she is due. Women who are in life threatening position during their pregnancy should have the right towards abortion. Due to the women being inefficient towards continuing further on in their pregnancy. Also, the women should be allowed the right to abort because it is still their own body and at the end of the day it should still come down to their decision. Another important reason that abortion should be legal is that some women were not even allowed the choice to conceive due to being abused and raped.
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Abortion has become a modern life casualty. There might be numerous "yes" and equivalent number of "no", voicing their conclusion over this, hence fortifying the contentions spinning around this issue. The truth is that the vast majority of the insights concerning premature birth don't portray an agreeable picture. Truth be told, premature birth has dependably been a warmed subject among the majority as individuals have their own particular school of contemplations with respect to it. That being stated, there are numerous laws representing the lawfulness of this issue. While in as much as 30 nations, premature birth is
To some it’s considered a crime, but to many others it is considered to be a choice which is rightly theirs . The choice of abortion is a sensitive topic & also very controversial in the U.S. and in other parts of the world. The word abortion is described as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Many people have many different opinions, whether they are for or against it and these different opinions have many reasons behind it to justify them. This is an important topic because it is something that impacts the lives of not just one person, but others as well.
“I had finally come to terms with the fact that the only thing that made my daughter any different than all those tiny babies, I had terminated, was the fact that I wanted her” “I was at last able to see what I had not allowed myself to see in all those years of doing terminations.” - Dr Yvonne Moore, Memphis Tennessee
Abortions are one of the various things that everybody has a supposition on. Premature births have dependably been a questionable subject in which everybody won't concur upon. Amidst the discussion, two gatherings have developed. As indicated by Gale Opposing Viewpoints in Context, pro-life supporters assert that life begins at conception, in this way, fetus removal at any stage in the pregnancy is slaughtering a child. They trust that life is profitable and the life of the unborn infant has an indistinguishable rights from the mother.Pro-choice supporters, trusts that it is the woman's entitlement to pick what she does with her body. These professional abortionists assert that anti-abortionists are truly against the privileges of a woman and free choice instead of the end of the embryo. I believe Woman should have the privilege to do what they need with their body.
An abortion is legal in the United States via the case of Roe v. Wade since 1973 in which the Supreme Court decided to make it possible for women to get safe, legal abortions. However, some states have limits to the use of abortion. The law Roe v. Wade defines as, “a landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that declared a pregnant woman is entitled to have an abortion until the end of the first trimester of pregnancy without any interference by the state” (encyclopedia). In the West’s Encyclopedia of American Law, the case Roe v. Wade explained, how an unmarried pregnant woman who wanted to maintain her identity private identified as Jane Roe, who later went public and identified as Norma McCorvey. At the time she was living in Texas, she wanted to end her pregnancy but abortion was not legal in the state. “She filed a lawsuit in federal district court on behalf of herself and all other pregnant women. The suit sought to have the Texas abortion law declared unconstitutional as an invasion of her right to privacy as guaranteed by the First, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments. She also sought to have an injunction, or court order, issued against the statute's enforcement so that she might go forward with the abortion” (encyclopedia). Norma McCorvey later revealed her real identity, Jane Roe in 1984 in a television interview. “The plaintiff in the most famous abortion case in U.S. history, Roe v. Wade. In 1994, she published an autobiography…that puts a human
