Oh, don’t you just love summer. Cool breezes, days on the beach, and injuries, or at least in my family. In the Bundy household it always seems that we get injured when the days are nice and long. In fact this same summer I got hit in the face with a D battery, hit in the face with a metal baseball bat and flew off a teeter totter and had to get stitches. The difference? I had these ones coming and my sister really didn't. You know those days when you get bored and then do random things for no reason at all, well this was one of those days. I was 4 at the time not even in school yet, My sister Brilee, had just got into first grade. We had devised the most awesome game ever, it might not have a name but it was still awesome. The basic concept was to jump down off of this little pool thing, we called a tuggy boat, and grab a vanilla wafer, eat it and repeat until out of food. We had never thought one of us was going to get hurt. We’d been doing this “game” for what seemed like ages, but it was fun so none of us complained, but I was …show more content…
Then it’s like the floodgates of the Hoover Dam opened up. All you can hear is her crying and bawling her eyes out. Then Brilee runs into the house grasping her right arm. At this point I thought basically thought that I had to be in some serious trouble, so I ran in after her. When I get into the house I see that Brilee’s sitting on the table with the rest of my family around her. My two brothers are trying to comfort her. Then my Dad puts pressure on her right arm. She screams bloody murder! My mom tells me to go down stairs to get her an ice cream sandwich, which in my family were to calm us down when me got hurt or had to get a splinter out. So I run downstairs grab one and bring it back up Brilee. Then Brilee, and my Parents just left and I really didn't know what was happening at the time but looking back it was pretty obvious they were going to
It was the second semester in middle school when I met my now best friend Jennifer. We were both in the seventh grade attending Smitha Middle School. I remember it was around the time we had all just come back from the winter break. This is a story about a beginning of a new friendship.
Having to take summer school somewhat shows that I did not learn much throughout regular school year. I did have some things stick with me and help me through summer school. I learned a few things throughout my time in summer school. Three things that I learned are, the importance of showing up, to be a better organizer, and Mr. McGee likes to talk very much.
The summer between my Sophomore and Junior year in high school; my house got a lot more complicated than it already was. My step 3 siblings had moved in, with the oldest sibling’s child that had just turned two years old. My house already was busy with my brother and sister, sporting events and extra-curriculars. So my mom’s daily “headaches” as she would call them got as lot worse and more often: running us to practices, attending games and trying to find time just for herself became complicated.
Every student and teacher dream of having a week off of school. But many times we aren't exactly sure what to do when that time arrives. It seems like almost every year I’m stuck at my house because most of my friends are away for vacation while i'm still pondering through Netflix trying to find a show to watch, and I’ve made no effort to try and hang out with the people still at home. However, this year is my senior year, my last spring break of high school. I need to make it the best one I can. So that brings up the question, what should I do over Spring break?
Inspirations are not always easy to come by. You must be open to new experiences in order to find inspiration. Growing up, I was the shy, nerdy girl who always followed the rules and was nervous to try new things; that ofcourse changed as time passed. In our capstone class we are assigned a middle school student that we can mentor and help get out of their shell. The closest person that I had to a mentor was Casey Rainbolt.
Im writing this letter to my future self for Ms. Meyer’s English class and is to be placed in the Freshmen Time Capsule to open when I’m a senior. So I guess I’m a senior now? I hope it’s fun, Daniel is a senior right now and he seems like he enjoys being at the top of the high school food chain. I recently finished my first soccer season on the high school team, and I’m getting ready for the upcoming track season. I hope to be on the 4x8 team again this year with Rachel and Gillian, and we really want Sydney to be the fourth spot runner for our team (even though she really doesn’t want to). I can’t wait to get my restricted drivers license. It took forever for me to get my permit and I was kind of mad at dad for not getting it for me earlier but I guess he’s “really busy”. Freshman year is going really well so far, I have really good grades in all of my classes and I’m having a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see what the next years of high school have in store!
I see what happened now, when I pasted the source it gave the option to just keep text only. This took the italics off since I did not keep the format. Thank you, I am really trying hard. I am kind of a perfectionist with my grades so I am trying to keep my 4.0. This is my first time ever taking summer courses and I am learning that I probably shouldn’t have signed up for 9 hours with a child because it is pretty overwhelming.
It was right after eating yet another mediocre lunch, when it hit me that it would be one of my last. There were 4 days left until graduation and only 2 hours left until my Latvian language proficiency final. I then realized that in half a week I would never see the same group of people again. On the mile long walk back from the dining hall, I enjoyed the sound of the cicadas from the forests around me. I thought about the empty summers coming up that will not have a 6 week long Latvian summer high school to fill them up.
Saying I was sad for summer to end and high school to begin would be an understatement. I'm definitely going to miss the beach days and staying up late at night doing the most random things, like cleaning my room or having a dance party. Ever since I was young I couldn't wait to begin high school and be just like one of the big kids. Now that I am one of the ‘big kids’, it's not as cool as it seemed. I didn't realize back then that once you start high school it pretty much decides how your life will turn out, and that's really scary. I also didn't think that I would be in Algebra 2 as a freshman with a ton of seniors. Even though I'm still a bit anxious to be in high school, I'm excited to go to homecoming, getting my permit, and cheering for
The summer of second grade was the next significant milestone in my career of being a child. We migrated to Petoskey for my mother’s place of employment was there. That was, undoubtedly, my unhappiest year. It was evident on my face, for it was much longer that year. I resented every thing about that town, my teacher, the fellow students at school, my home, and above all, I hated one part of my experience in that town with a passion usually reserved for the air that fills the bag of your lays potato chips instead of chips. Every day after school I would walk to St. Frances, which had a after school program, and I would stay for three hours until my mother would rescue me from that den of miscreancy. It was at St. Frances, that I let the other
I’m sorry I wrote this summary so late. I was caught up working on other assignments. This summary is more of a letter than a topic because you did say “The summary doesn’t have to be anything specific” and I couldn’t come up with anything specific anyways. So, I’m going to write a ¾ to full page letter to you about nothing specific.

My dad had to go to work. And my brothers and I wanted to go to the park to play. We ate breakfast and then we played a little bit on our computers on poptropica. And then at 1:30 pm we got dressed and started walking to the park. On our way, we each got an icecream cone. I always had to have a vanilla cone with chocolate sprinkles and a cherry on top. And then we walked into hudson county park. And of course the first thing me and my brothers do is go in the wet games. We played for about half an hour to and hour and a half. We then rushed drying ourselves and went to the dry games to play. They just installed a new game in the park. I called it the “human spinner.” Basically you go inside a big thing with railings surrounding you so that you don't fall, and then you get someone to spin it. And then you get dizzy and it’s fun for little
Summer school was as fun as it sounded, really it was boring, and we learned a lot, participated every day. So what did we do in summer school, what did we do every single day, and yes it was very scheduled. First we did annotations on a text, then we wrote on a little program called myaccess and then last but not least we read an unstoppable and then again wrote about it. Imagine doing that every single day of summer school, we learned but it was kind of boring sometimes just sometimes we did something out of the norm, like watch a movie, but then yet again we had to write again, about setting plot, and characters. So what is it we all learned, did we learn enough or do we have write yet again.
Amund gingerly transferred the ice-blended green tea latte into a plastic cup and handed it to the customer. "Have a nice day!" he said with a forced smile as they grabbed their drink and left. Only 30 minutes left until my shift ends, Amund thought to himself in anticipation.
