“Don’t stop when you’re tired. Stop when you’re done.” Author Unknown Being healthy and staying active is not something my family has been worried about. I have to be honest,I thought the same thing before I started wrestling. I ate anything I wanted too, I was not too active. I like to sleep in and play video games. I was out of shape and couldn’t run very far without losing my breath. This all changed when I started to wrestle. Wrestling gave and taught me a new passion. I had a new desire to do more and be better. I had to learn and to sacrifice the things I wanted so I could grow. I had to give up a lot of my favorite treats, soda and food. I was eating candy, drinking soda all of the time. Rarely did I eat healthy things such as fruits and veggies. In order to be the best and achieve my goals in wrestling I had to change, I had to eat healthy. I began to believe that I could and would do it...and I did. A change came over me when I started to be more healthy, I felt better, was more active and had more fun with family and friends. In addition to eating healthier was only the beginning. I had to do more and be more active. Each morning my day would begin with getting up and go running, working out. As soon as I began working out and being more active I noticed a difference. I lost 40 lbs and my self confidence went up and I felt better about myself. If a work was missed I felt cheated and wanted to do more. The outdoors and hiking became a passion. Wrestling has taught me to be more aware about what I should eat, how I should act and do. It has taught me self discipline, a sense of self worth, helped me live a better lifestyle. I have made it a personal goal to stay in shape and not go back to my old life style. Due it this new found self confidence I know I can accomplish whatever I set my mind
