Overcoming Obstacles

My family makes a sufficient amount of money to take care of home necessities, but we only make so much money that we consider higher education a luxury. In addition, growing up without my father I have had to overcome many challenges including a lack of confidence and self love. Over time I have overcome these obstacles and I am proud of the young man I am today. I still find that I am my biggest critic, but instead of getting down on myself, I push myself harder to grow. Making mistakes is something I have accepted and have come to understand in order to get closer to my objectives both onstage and off. Everyday is an opportunity to learn, I make the choice challenging myself and grow as a student and as an artist. My background of growing

“We are not what we've done. We are what we’ve overcome.” This set of wise words implies that our true identity is not defined by the achievements we have made, but rather by the obstacles that we manage to overcome and what we learn from them. Like most others, I faced some struggles growing up, and they have played a major role in who I am today. While, some of these struggles consisted of physical barriers in the way of my education, others were economic struggles, later serving as my motivational drive for doing well in school. Each of these has taught me valuable lessons and are the reasons why I am the person who I am today.

Obstacles and disadvantages are a part of life, and will always be there in your path. Some of the hurdles will be bigger than others, and some hardships will be easier than others. Whether it be a chair in your way or something you can't get over, obstacles will be there. The question is not how to avoid snags, but how can you turn the tables on them and have a positivist outcome. Flipping them to benefit you, and others around you to have a better outcome on the situation. There are three ways that I know that can help you achieve this, being optimistic, adding on to your armor, and using them as an advantage.

“You are the only person that you should rely on.” My mom said it best, because of her this was my 10 year old mentality. Independence is a huge factor in my household, my mom always taught me that eventually she won’t be there to protect me. Raised by a strong single mother, I was taught that when you depend on others you lose your sense of pride and sovereignty. When you learn to stand on your own two feet and take care of what you are accounted for, you see the world for what it really is. Although you may face obstacles, it is important to remember that it is not the end. Obstacles do not block ones path, rather they are the course to prosperity.

Something in my life that I think goes unnoticed is my ability to overcome obstacles that get in my way. I learned at a very young age how to deal with serious events and problems. My life hasn’t been easy and the fact that I am alive is a miracle. On March 15, 1998, my parents were on their way home from a business trip when they were hit by a drunk driver just miles from home. My mother was also 32 weeks pregnant with me at that time and we were not expected to make it. My dad broke his arm, while my mom suffered a horrific traumatic brain injury and other major physical injuries. She had to learn everything all over again. Growing up with a mentally and physically disabled mom was extremely difficult. She would do weird things and get angry

During my 18 years of life, I have faced many obstacles, both internal and external. I have learned that the internal ones can be the hardest, because most of the times we have to learn to heal ourselves on our own. One of my biggest obstacles was trying not to lose myself in the midst of the chaos, drama, and depression around me.

From personal experience, any obstacle or disadvantage can be used for something good. When I was a high school senior, I broke my wrist playing basketball right before state playoffs. It devastated me and my team. For a sports enthusiast like me, this injury was a major setback. Through this experience, I became a better team captain by raising moral from the bench dispite not being able to play. Life will always come with obstacles but we must determine whether we want to use the obstacles to fuel greatness or disappointments. This paper will discuss people throughout history that have used their personal struggles and setbacks to achieve something great.

No one has really did through what i have been through other if they did they had a different solution but it fits for me because it was a big obstacle in my life.I wanted to have a better life for me and my brother I was tired of taking care of everybody but myself the definition in the dictionary is a thing that blocks one's way or prevents or hinders progress.And it was true i was letting everybody else hold me down i was no longer a innocent little girl i felt like i was a mom i took care of so many kids when i was a kid myself.It was a huge obstacle in my life letting go of the hurt i felt because i didn’t have a childhood i was suppose to have but i learned to forgive those mistakes that i had to suffer from and now i can move on with

Everyone faces challenges and complications in their life but i strongly feel what is important is what you learn from that obstacle. Throughout my junior year i was dealing with a situation that lead to events that i never thought would happen to me. My mother, father, sisters, and i have been going through some challenges that caused my family to split. It began when my parents divorced and my mother met someone who didn't respect me nor my sisters. I couldn't explain how difficult it was to listen to the negativity that went on in that house. Its hard to wake up and smile knowing you're not welcomed in your own house. My mother agreed with everything he said and he was clearly the king and we had to bow down to him. Eventually i ended up

My obstacle that i had to overcome proves many things about my def of an obstacle which is ‘‘An obstacle is something that you have to overcome in your life.’’ Having to deal with an obstacle like mine which is having to move to a different city is really something that is a thing you have to overcom in life. I had to make new friend, meet new people, and pretty much have to start miy life all over again because i wont know anything about the city i would be moving to. Having to start over in your life is a big obstacle to overcome and it made my life very hard until i met one of my best friends that i will talk abou later in my story. My def of an obstacle will soon be proven when you read the rest of my life story.

“Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.” Every once and awhile we will get our boots stuck in the challenges that we will have to trudge through to become stronger. Truly, we don't grow when things are easy or non-chaotic, rather we sprout into a growing tree when there is a rain storm. Life throws us overboard at every twist and turn so we have to batten down the hatches. Not only that, but we also seem to fall deeper into a bottomless pit when we attempt to take the shorter path. Overall, we have all faced challenges within our life, whether from a problem at home, to losing a soccer game. A maze that is endless, quick sand that swallows you whole; can both describe a challenge.

Do you think the Olympics are cool? Olympic athletes push the limits of a normal human body. What if the Olympic athletes were missing crucial body parts; like a limb, their ability to walk or the vision. That would make there job impossible right? Wrong! There are people who are missing limbs, are in wheelchairs, and can’t see pushing limits. They are showing society that they don't want piety they want equality. The ad shows the athletes as strong- not broken, through the music and video clips of the athletes on and off the field.

Challenges are faced every minute of every day by people all across the globe. Even the people in this world known for their “glass half full” attitudes must face difficult times like these when they arise. While challenges of all sizes can become a daunting task for anyone, the people who best overcome these obstacles are those who remain optimistic despite all odds.

“Challenges are what makes life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes them meaningful”. Obstacles are problems, given to us humans to solve. It could be something as big as being born with a disability or something as simple as learning how to ride a bike. Overcoming obstacles are never easy to begin with. Most obstacles are extremely hard and challenging. But by overcoming them, you’ll know why they are important. The importance of overcoming obstacles in life is to make you braver, stronger, and wiser. Everyone has their own obstacles to overcome, and some are illustrated by my own experience of learning how to ride a bike, John Green’s experience of going against his mental illness, and Thor’s experience of fighting against his very own sister, Hela.
