I chose Nursing as a career because I knew I could make a lot of money and I knew that it is something that I would like to do. Before coming to job corps, I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. When I came here to job corps, I checked out and job shadowed a lot of the trades but after learning about Nursing and the money I could make and all the places I could work with my Nursing certification, I decided that this was the trade for me. I was experienced in Nursing but I got a lot more experience when I came to job corps. I didn’t know how to do every skill properly, but after Mrs. Osbourne showed me how to perform every skill I’m confident that I will pass state board. Nurses make a lot of money and that’s one of the reasons
The career is chose is nursing, I chose this career because I love helping people, I am avid about making sure people are getting everything they need, making sure they get all of their medication so they can get better and can live a healthy life, Being a nurse you will record patients medical history and symptoms, administer patients’ medicines and treatments, operate and monitor medical equipment, explain what they do when going home. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills, talents needed salary and benefits offered and the duties for particular career when making this decision, with my help they could burgeon and get better.
A career in nursing is very popular for both men and women. As with most healthcare provider work, nursing offers job satisfaction, and there are positions available throughout the country. It also offers good pay, but it is not without risks. The risks can negatively impact the nurse’s health and lifestyle and should be considered before a person chooses a career in nursing.
I decided to return to school, choosing nursing as a second career. It was intimidating and daunting. Will school be too hard? Will I fit in? Am I too old?
I choose to pursue a career in the nursing field because i was perviously a medical assistant for a while working in pediactric doctors office and loved it , so i felt to need to further my education by enrolling in nursing school to become a practical nurse. My plan is to work as a practical nurse for a while then return to school to pursue a career as a registered nurse. There are several reasons why this career is the right one for me I love to make difference in peoples live and bring hope this is not something you can recieve in just any career field. Nurses can be versatile meaning work in just about any speciality and establishment for example schools hospitals, physicans office and governemnt agenices and long term care facilities this
There are around 141 hospitals in just Illinois alone, and in each one of the hospitals they need alot of nurses. Registered Nurses (RNs) are the most common type of nurse. RNs have completed either a two year associate degree or diploma program, or have a Bachelor Degree in nursing. If you have the Bachelors degree it usually takes about 4 years of college Nurses work to promote health, prevent disease, and provide the best possible care for patients. If you are a caring, responsible, and someone that pays attention to detail who is capable of leading others, a career in nursing may be right for you.
Some say that we are better at the individually focused aspects of this policy than at social justice, that our past shows a commitment to social justice not currently found in our profession (Bekemeier and Butterfield, 2005).I disagree with Bekemeier and Butterfield, the new version of the Code sets out a role for nursing in terms of social justice and this is the right path for our profession to follow. Historical public health nursing leaders such as Lillian Wald, Florence Nightingale, and Lavinia Dock provide great examples of nurses who look to improving social conditions that have deleterious effects on health in the vulnerable population. The ANA points to ways in which nurses can promote health by educating the public and joining legislative forces to promote health. For example as a bedside nurse, I see daily how a social problem becomes a health problem such as homelessness, lack of cultural sensitivity, and abuse.
The career choice of Nursing(ER) is influenced by my interests, values, talents, and goals. One of my most important goals are to love my job but also get paid well enough to support my lifestyle. My values are family, helping others, and money. My paycheck goal is to make enough money to support a family and pets such as horses and dogs. My talents are working with people, good work ethic and working with my hands. These characteristics make nursing a great career choice.
Finding a job in America can be a tough task within its self especially with little education. Therefore, finding a career that suits your interest in addition to your pockets should always be a priority. In this paper, I will describe how a nursing career is arguably more promising than an interior designer. During my research, I learned the outlook, salary, qualifications, requirements and daily task required for each career. An interior designer is a thrilling career for those who are artistic and creative. However, the outlook for this career is not high and continuously decreasing in numbers yearly. A nursing career is gratifying, but it is also an extreme amount of a work and awfully stressful. Each careers path come with a handful
Nursing as a profession has been one with vast growth in the world. Gone are the days whereby nurses are not allowed to obtain a doctoral degree in their field (Reid-Pointe & Nicholas, 2015). Per Reid-Pointe & Nicholas (2015), about70-years ago, nurses could only obtain a doctoral degree in non-nursing field. However, today, nurses have the choice to obtain a doctoral degree with research focus or practice centered doctoral degree (Reid-Pointe & Nicholas, 2015). The idea that nurses now have different doctoral options to concentrate on has aid in the assuring adequate amount of nursing facilities. In addition, the vast doctoral degree programs as caused advancement in nursing research and leadership in healthcare administration, policy, and practice (Reid-Pointe & Nicholas, 2015).
I chose the nursing field as my career because it met all of the criteria to make me happy and feel accomplished. Nursing itself has limitless possibilities with what an individual could do, whether it is working directly with patients or being a manager for a certain department. What attracted me to nursing was that I could be myself in the field. I wanted a career that would stimulate me intellectually, while providing me with the ability to do what I love the most, which is helping people, change lives and learn along the way.
“Nursing is all about touching lives and lives touching yours along the way.” I feel nursing is more than just a career, it is the possibility to change and touch someone’s life. I have always loved caring for others but I realized this was my calling in the summer of 2014. My family and I were in Indianapolis, Indiana for a band competition and there was also a bike rally that weekend. As you can imagine, there were bikers everywhere. As we were walking around downtown, we saw a guy speed by popping wheelies. My mom said, “That idiot is going to get himself hurt.” The next thing we hear is POP as he hit the concrete pillar under the overpass. I immediately took off running back to him with my tiny first aid kit that I kept in my purse.
Since I was a little girl I had always dreamed of working within the medical field. I dreamed of becoming a doctor, but as I got older my dream started to become more realistic, and found out that I needed too much schooling. So, I decided that I no longer wanted to be a doctor, instead I wanted to pursue a career within the medical field, as a nurse. Based on the personality type quiz that I took on Blog things I found out that my personality was ISFJ, and through the sort of careers from Ball State University I found out that one of the careers picked, from within the sort was a career in Nursing. I want to become a Nurse because of my experience of volunteering at a Nursing home, and because of the
Nursing was not just a career choice to Virginia Henderson; it was her life and her passion. She made many contributions which affected nursing in a positive way. She dedicated many years to learning, studying, and teaching about nursing, which was only the beginning of her influence on the profession. She developed her own definition of nursing, she participated in nursing research projects, and she wrote and edited many texts that are still used to today in nursing education. To further the significant impact she had on the nursing profession, she aided in its distinction from other professions and clarified the basic roles of nurses. Unquestionably, Virginia Henderson played an immense role in influencing nursing to be the distinguished profession it is today.
Nursing is a very complex career that at many times requires one to be a leader. Nurses can be leaders in formal roles and also on the unit during any given shift. Nursing is a career that truly tests the character and attributes of those who choose to enter this career. Leadership in nursing is vital in creating a successful environment for patients. According to Stichler (2006), “effective leadership is essential to transforming organizations into environments that are safe for both patients and staff” (p. 422). Therefore, it is vital that as new nurses start out his or her careers that they learn from great leaders who are already in the profession. There are several great leaders working in the field who have a plethora of
As a high school senior, I have gone through many changes and experiences. I have learned to not take time for granted and to live in the moment because time goes by fast. I am very close to graduating and receiving a diploma so this point in my life is the most crucial. The three biggest changes I have been through are a change in my skills, my career goals, and my personality. I have always been very skeptical on what college to apply to because I will be living there for 4 years or more. Searching for colleges I would enjoy but also get into was a long process. I also had to take into account that the career I want to go into is Nursing. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, “a Registered Nurse is a person who has graduated from a college's nursing program or from a school of nursing and has passed a national licensing exam known as the NCLEX.” Ever since my first day in my Intro to Healthcare class I have always wanted to go into the healthcare field. My research is what helped me decide that I want to pursue the job as a Nurse.
