1. What is Nick Gibbons’s vision in this case study? How is it similar to or different from the vision of the owners of the paper? Discuss the unique challenges a leader faces when required to implement a vision of his or her superiors. Nick’s vision is to pioneer a new digital newspaper to keep his community informed. He wants only employees who can let go of the current paper and move forward. He wants a visual opening of the paper to remind the staff and the public that the paper is still in full operation. Visions usually require changing people’s values. What desired changes in values are highlighted by this case study? I feel the change of moving forward, from old to new, is highlighted. Something new is not bad and to keep up in a technological world change is needed. 4. How well did Nick Gibbons articulate his vision for the paper? If you were in Nick’s shoes, how would you articulate your vision in this case? I feel Nick articulated his vision very well because 80% of the positions were filled with former employees. Nick knew there would be those who would not let go of the past and he spoke strongly by saying, “If you can’t let go of the past…you can’t move forward” (as cited in Introduction to Leadership, 2015, p. 63). Nick knows the only way for the digital paper to be successful is to let go of the past and build the future of new reporting online. If I were in Nick’s place I feel I would articulate how this change is an adventure and that those who move forward with the company are pioneers. I would encourage the employees to build upon this vision because it is a new adventure for all involved. 5. Do you think the newspaper will thrive under Nick’s leadership?
new strategy of the company. He then set a stirring vision of being “the best managed
It’s always good to start investing money at an early age, however, it’s a hard start. Many banks have improved interest rates as well as no opening fees to start a savings account. Stocks, such as health and technology are also currently going up. Billy should start by saving small amounts of money per week for two years and placing it in a savings account. He should also buy health and tech stocks, such as Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) and International Business Machines Corporation (IBM), and keep a diversified portfolio, along with buying bonds.

Stephen Mobley, your classic suburban-American boy born and raised into a middle-class loving home. He was never abused or bullied as a child and seemed to live a well-rounded life. However, as Mobley grew older little spurts of violence and malicious behavior began appearing from the darkness. At the age of 25 Stephen Mobley walked into his neighborhood pizza shop and did not return with a pizza, but with a sentence to life in prison on death row, awaiting execution. Robert Glaser was having a blast when in 1995 he attended a Billy Joel concert at Jack Murphy Stadium. Really into the music, a mystery in itself, Glaser finds he has to answer nature's call. But, every restroom he finds he also finds a woman in it. Desperate for privacy to pee, he his disheartened when he discovers the bathrooms at the stadium are unisex. Logically, Glaser chooses to hold it for the rest of the concert. Being a Billy Joel concert that was only a short four hours.

Values are the fundamental beliefs of a person, and they help guide us in making decisions and how we live our lives. Values are a part of our everyday life and in the workplace. In the workplace, these are the guiding principles that help to define how the corporation would behave. In this essay, the author will identify personal core values and discuss how we acquire and change values throughout life. Also will discuss what values do for us and the importance of values in the workplace.
These values are identified as autonomy, intimacy, aspiration and acceptance. They touch on the individual’s ability for self-direction, a need for love, friendship and social acceptance. They also touch on an individual’s ambition regarding success and achievements. These values reflect the needs of individuals, and do not take communal or familial needs into account.
