National Honor Society Research Paper

The four pillars of National Honor Society(NHS) are crucial to the development of a successful future. While I always possessed the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and citizenship, NHS helped me strengthen and grow in the area of those qualities, the four pillars.

National Honors Society is represented by four different pillars, these are leadership, character, service and scholarship. To be a candidate for NHS you must exemplify these pillars in some shape or form during your high school career. I believe I demonstrate these four pillars in these examples that I have listed below.

Throughout my high school career I have demonstrated the four pillars that the National Honor Society is built upon: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The characteristics of outstanding scholarship, leadership, character, service and citizen definitely apply to me as an individual. The characteristics of outstanding scholarship apply to me as an individual because I have maintained a 4.0 grade point average for the first two trimesters and will continue to maintain a 4.0 grade point average. The characteristics of excellent citizenship relate to me because I have never gotten suspended, expelled, or a detention and have never had excessive tardiness. Not to mention, I demonstrate participation and involvement in all my classes. I display outstanding character because I show the highest standards of honesty and reliability and I consistently exemplify desirable

I believe that I would be a perfect fit for National Honor Society. Each and every day I exemplify the four National Honor Society pillars, Character, Service, Scholarship, and Leadership. At the very end of eighth grade our graduating class and teachers had an anonymous vote to pick two people with the best character in the class. I won the award which was called the Marty Lebaron award, donated in the name of a young man who passed away from cancer, but his character was so great it can never be forgotten. I have four younger sisters, very often I am helping them with homework, making sure they are fed, and get to sleep on time. I also babysit my neighbors very small children, their parents trust me to keep their children safe, make dinner, and make sure they get to bed. Every two weeks I would go over and mow my grandparents lawn and clean up their lawn. During the winter I would shovel and make sure the garbage cans make it to the curb on time. This summer when they decided to move to Florida, my dad and I helped them move all of their furniture out of their house and onto the rental truck.

The four pillars of National Honor Society could not be framed more perfectly to apply to my future goals. In the future, I want to base my goals around rebuilding foreign governments and infrastructure, while addressing and solving desperate social issues as well. The four pillars of National Honor Society facilitate this goal extremely well for the following reasons. Scholarship is obviously paramount because the ability work hard to learn, comprehend and understand other situations in other countries is vital to pursuing progress. Furthermore, the inherent work ethic in scholarship and knowledge it provides is needed for insight on the inner workings of other governments in order to achieve my goals. Service is also incredibly important,

The National Honor Society is not only a privilege to be a part of, but is an outstanding achievement for the person. To be a member of the National Honor Society, I believe I must have characteristics such as: being a role model and having leadership, superb academic standings, and an overall character that will encourage others. I want to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I qualify for the characteristics I have listed above. As for being a role model and having leadership, I have never been in any kind of trouble, and I am always open to help anyone who needs it, including schoolwork or personal matters. My grades are also up to par with academic standards. I have been on the Honor Roll for as long as I can remember,

Receiving the recognition as a qualifying candidate for National Honors Society gives me great esteem in accomplishment. This translates to me knowing that my hard work has paid off and one of my first steps in the leadership of this community as well as larger roles can be pursued. I believe that my time as a National Honors Society student of Carteret High School can be trusted for the benefit of our society because I have proven to possess the qualities of good character, leadership, service, and scholarship. My time awaits to provide our community with the leadership it needs while at the same time leaving an example of a great student for everyone to reflect on for the betterment of themselves.

I believe I should be chosen for membership into the National Honor Society for many reasons. First, I try my hardest in school and take my academics very seriously. I spend a lot of time on homework because I like to go over and make sure I understand the subject in depth. When signing up for classes, I try to pick classes that will challenge me and also classes that I think may help me in the future with my career. Before tests, I study extra on that subject so I am prepared for whatever we are tested on. There are certain subjects I struggle with more than others, so I just spend more time on learning that subject. Overall, I enjoy academics because it pushes me to do my best.

The National Honors Society boasts of members with significant academic accomplishments, selfless hours of community service, and strong leadership capabilities as a representative of the school’s excellence. Becoming a member of the National Honors Society is a prestigious honor. As a student, I strive for excellence in my academics and have made the honor roll every quarter, showing my aim and dedication to reaching my highest potential. I try not to compete with other students, but with myself. My academics are the result of my hard work, and my dedication towards grades correlates to the dedication I have towards becoming a leader and a role model for the community.

The National Society Essay is an exceptional organization that allows students to help the needy and provide essential characteristics for life. Ever since my sister was admitted to the National Honor Society I have strived to make it one of my goals to be apart of this prestigious society as well. The special aspects of the National Honors Society (NHS) is the helping of both the students that are in the program to excel above their accomplishments, as well as getting in touch with their community around them. This is the reason why I want to be in this elite organization, it may guide me into achieving my goal in life, which is going to the University of Texas in Austin and receiving my bachelors in Dialysis nursing. By being a part of this, I will become a more matured, sociable person in life.

Throughout my four years at the Bethel Park High School, I have represented myself as a strong leader. I never focused myself on just one aspect of leadership. To start, I have worked very hard to be considered as a captain of the cross country team, I currently hold the position of treasurer of the Journalism Club, and I am the head of a committee for the Principal Advisory Committee of Students. Being a leader in not something that I could learn from a textbook, it is a skill learned through my countless experiences. My current jobs that I hold give me great opportunities to prove my leadership skills. One of the most difficult is my referee job, which forces me to take the lead over coaches, players, and parents.

As the years have passed, however, I have definitely emerged as a leader. Over time I have become involved in more and more leadership positions in my extracurricular activities. I joined the Beta Club, a perfect opportunity seeing as it is a club dedicated to cultivating new leaders out of students. It seemed to work.
