Human beings are always in constant development process, throughout their life history. People often pass various stages and occurrences in life, which in one way or the other shape their being into what they are today. Actually, this is the reason why sociologists argue that we are the product of our environment, implying that every human behavior emanated from what they saw or experienced in life. In relation to this, this paper will discuss at length about my individual development narrative, and go a notch higher to explain every occurrence/stage in my life from a theoretical perspective.

The way society is today, it’s challenging to tell what kind of responsibilities people have. Everyone gets so focused on their jobs, their cellphones, or other attributes that people lose the meaning of responsibility; like when a parent goes out to the park and takes their child out so they can let some energy out, I get it, they can be a pain, but if a parent is on their cellphone for too long and don’t even acknowledge their child, something could essentially happen; if something were to happen, imagine if they were not able to prevent a corrupt situation from occurring because they were distracted with an electronic device or any other activity. Some people may be confused in what responsibility even means. Does it mean be nice, make good decisions, and do what you're told? I've been taught many responsibilities throughout my life and the most important one is to try my hardest to walk in the light of Jesus. To do this I try to learn from my mistakes, treat others the way I want to be treated. Whenever I get the opportunity I bring God into the subject to try to show every one what a loving and caring father he his no matter how many mistakes you've made. I want people to know that no matter what they do or say to me, I will never deny my beliefs for God I will always shine my light and try to impact as many lives as I can. We are one Nation under God and I believe that's our responsibility to keep it that way.

Example: As an athlete your responsibility is to come to practice, practice hard, develop skill, and win games. As a student you have to do your homework, study for your exam, and do well in school. For a son or daughter you have to help your parents' cook, clean, and do chore around the house and get ready to go to school again. Everyone has their own responsibility to take care if you want to become an athlete, students, and a good child you must grow up.

To me responsibility is an obligation you should fulfill even if it concerns you remotely. In addition, you should do the right thing to the best of your ability, despite the consequences it may entail. By being diligently responsible and upright, I will be set apart and viewed differently in comparison to others. Not only does the responsibility I have affect me, it also affects other people and possible their responsibility. But if you acknowledge and accept that as fact, and work towards your goal, people will not only view you differently, they will treat you differently. Is there a meaning to life? First, to clear up any misunderstandings in the next few paragraphs you are about to read, I shall explain a few things. I am not talking about the individual people in our lives, that mean so much to us, or individual lives. That is a whole other matter. What I mean by the "meaning of life", is the greater picture. Clearly, our students today are narcissistic, but they also demonstrate an eagerness to engage in philosophy as a "spiritual exercise." Over the past eight years I have tried to develop an introductory course which capitalizes on the current student profile and which re-presents philosophy to the students in its original vocation: as guide from the world of confusion and deception to the world of truth. The writing assignment is the centerpiece for the course and all reading and discussion are designed to create an intellectual atmosphere within which the students can consider, develop and defend their own philosophy of life. The argument for their philosophy of life is developed over the entire semester. Students submit the argument in two stages, as described below.
