That night was a game I will always remember. It brings me great joy and gives me deep pride. It is one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced in my life. It was and still is a moment that I look back on and reminisce. I used to work for a private company at Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino as a Casino Dealer, and that memorable moment happened when I played basketball with my casino team. I have played basketball tournaments in high school and in government leagues, however, none of them compares when I played in Tinian Dynasty’s Inter-Department Basketball Tournament. It was a popular event that happens every year between different departments of the company, and I was just in time to join the tournament. My teammates and I did advance to the …show more content…
There was about 00.04 seconds left in the game, and the other team still had to inbound the ball back into the court for their chance to score. A player from the other team, still dazed and confused, did not know what to do and tried to pass the ball to his teammate, but miraculously, one of my teammates, Elmo, was able to intercept the ball and lay it up for a quick basket. As I watch the ball drop to the bottom of the net, that is when I heard the sound of the horn go off. The final seconds of the game has ended, and our team and fans went jumping up and down, yelling and screaming in celebration and joy. It was then we were declared the victors. The final score of the game was 106-105. It was an unbelievable basketball game I ever played. The feeling was like playing in the NBA. Everyone else as well who witnessed the night of our comeback victory were amazed. All I could ever think of now was just how I reacted without even thinking about what to do during those last eleven seconds. Just never giving up was my mentality. Time was short, but felt long and fast. I was placed in a time zone where I will always remember that glorious
The most memorable thing that happened to me would have to be when I got to see my favorite sports team play, the Detroit Tigers. This was my first time ever watching them play and I was excited to see what I was about to encounter. It was a hot summer day when we went to Comerica Park, when we went to go see them play. Our seats we right on the first base line, a perfect spot for a foul ball to come my way. The Tigers were winning throughout the whole game up on the last inning Miguel Cabrera hit a walk off home run that won them the game. Going to the game was a great opportunity for me to get to see the skills and work that they put into the game. This helped me see just how important it is to work as a team and support each other on and
I have never felt more nervous than in the locker room before my region game in Pierre to advance to the state tournament. My teammates and I were gathered in the locker room before the game like we usually are, but this was different. The feeling of knowing that this was our last chance of going to the state tournament and playing for a championship was on the line. I remember it was so quite. I had headphones on, and so many thoughts were traveling my mind. The music blasting in my ears was a blur and all I could hear was my own heart beating. Coach Gardner entered the room and had the coaching staff with him preparing to give his pregame speech. After he relieved some of our stress and nerves, we were ready. We broke down the huddle and jogged down the dark hall to the court. I will never forget walking onto the court hearing the screeching cheers and seeing the sea of purple on one side of the court and red on the other.
It wasn’t any normal game it was the championship game. I really didn't have any worries because my team was really good. The other team was good too because that team had beat us before and they beat us by a lot of points. I was texting my friends while I waiting for the game cousin told me
It was half-way through the second quarter in the semifinals, and the Sun Valley Vikings were up by 14. They were on our own 10-yard line, and they were handing it off to one of their biggest and best players, Jack Krump, up the middle. I was in at safety, and I ran up to tackle him at the five-yard line but he came trucking through I just bounced right off of him like a wall. I heard the crowd cheering, so I could tell he scored a touchdown. They kicked the field goal and it was, good. We then ran into formation to receive the kickoff.
With two seconds left in the first half, Wes Washpun was at half court and time was running down, so he shot the ball and it went through the hoop! ¨WOOOO!¨ I jumped up and down and saying to the players as they were going into the tunnel, ¨Let's go boys! We can do this!¨ UNC was up 41 to 32 at halftime.
I could feel the pressure of all of Wrigley Field on me. The whole nation waiting to see if the Cubs could do it for the first time since 1908. I watched the first pitch come in, ball. Then the second pitch which had always been my luckiest, I hit and I hit it hard with great power and height. No way that ball could have not have been going that far. We all then witnessed it go right out of the park. I heard first major league grand slam for Jacob Wyler get shouted from the speakers then the ‘Go Cubs Go’ song blasting. My whole team was on the field astonished that we just won the World Series. Those moments after we won will never be able to be recreated it was the best feeling in the world it was just the cherry on top to making it to the
It was dead silent as the ball sat in the air and as if time had stopped. It was December of 2015, I was 13, my team and I was playing for 3rd place in the Colt Classic Tournament. It was a night game at Barrington Station High School. We were playing the Barrington Colts, which was weird considering they are playing for 3rd in their own tournament that they were hosting, before the game, I was talking to some of my teammates Aaron Pattis, Stephen Harris, Bradley Jenkins, Ayden Anderson and I were talking before the game, going into that game we speculated that we had this game in the bag easily as a result of how well our team was playing. Little did we know, we had another problem coming.
There was 15 minutes left in the 4th quarter, and the score was tied at 12-12. The buzzer rings indicating the start of the quarter. The ref blows the whistle for the faceoff to start. After a long tussle in the middle of the field we finally get the ball, and have a fast break. We move the ball around around and one of my teammates gets a goal, bringing the score up to 13-12 Notre Dame. The crowd was going crazy for how fast we had scored.
As of planned, my team in bounded the scream. I caught the ball, stood there, and held the ball to my hip. I called for a screen from one of my teammates. I used the screen soon after he set in. All I heard was my coach telling me to shoot. I pulled up way beyond the three point line and I swished it. I won the Pennsylvania State Championship.
I took a deep breath. It was the big championship game and we had 10 minutes left on the clock and the score was 10-7 we were down by 3. We had 3 runners on the base and 2 outs I was on deck and Brooke was up to bat. I pulled her over to the side and said “you got this were only down by three and I got your back. We have no outs so take your time and hit the ball.” Brooke said “ok thanks and we got this”. The pitcher threw the ball and Brooke hit the ball. It went straight down the 3rd base line. She got a single and now the score was 10-8, I was up. The pitcher through one right down the middle I hit a line drive right to center field and got a double, MG was running home as fast as lightning and slid into home barely making it. The game was
When I was younger I used to play sports especially football. I remember playing in the championship game for Coral Reef Senior High against American Heritage Senior High. It was my last high school game and for us to remain undefeated throughout the season. I also knew I had to bring my “A” game because of college scouts were going to be at the game. Our game was to be played at Florida International University at 7pm. My team and I went to the FIU stadium two hours before the game started to stretch and loosen up. So as the time was winding down for us to play we step on the field, all I could see was a lot people in the stands cheering us on. I kind of had butterflies in my stomach but I had to put that feeling aside and help my team win.
Time goes by and I dribble down the field on the right side and send in a cross and Evan finishes it off with a volley. The score goes to 4-1 us and only about twenty minutes left. The rest of the time runs out and we are the 2014 state champions. My best friend Johnny and I have played soccer together for 13 years before this day and never won a championship until now, I couldn’t be any
The team wasn’t too great, we won about as many times as we lost, but that was fine. I struggled beyond belief, leading the team in strikeouts at the plate. One night we were in a tied up game heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. We managed to get a runner to third, but with two outs I couldn’t bunt. Once I had watched the first two pitches go by for strikes I knew I had to be looking to swing and come through. I had a feeling that everyone assumed I was about to strike out once again. But once I saw the pitch leave the pitcher’s hand, I knew it was all mine and connected on a line drive to left-center field. Hearing all of my teammates and the parents yell for me felt amazing. The ball landed landed deep in the outfield and as soon as I reached first base I realized I has just hit my first walk-off ever as the run crossed home to score the winning run. Soon my teammates ran out to bash my helmet and congratulate me on my feat. I’ll always carry that moment as my favorite sports memory of all time and I will never forget
The jump ball went to us the Elites, and I was at point guard position, while D 'angelo was at shooting guard. I passed the ball to him on a fast break and lead him to a nice two point slam. The game was close the whole game, but then finally the shot clock read twenty seconds. The Stars had the ball, and were coming down the court. All I would hear was the squeaking shoes from the sticky floor. There best shooter took a three point shot for the lead. He missed and D 'angelo got the rebound, which lead an outlet pass to me. I ran down the court dribbling with the clock at five seconds. I look to my left, and I
Running into the gym with my team, knowing it was my last middle school basketball game, but first championship game I felt elated and truly blessed. My knees quivered with anticipation after seeing all the bleachers filled with people. After realizing even the press and other media was in attendance I grasped the moment like a newly elected president at his inauguration. I am warming up doing basketball drills, when I began to look at the flags on the gym wall depicting the history of the basketball team. The years and dates of the last championship game, Historically a championship game had not been won since 2007 . The more I stared at the flags, the more it made me want to win this game and make history in this gym. As the crowd and cheerleaders start to chant, cheer and get loud, I started to feel more comfortable and rowdy more than I had ever felt in any other game that I’ve played. Waiting for the referee to blow the whistle for jumpall to start. I felt my fingertips tapping the side of my leg, which for some reason gives me a sign to myself that I am pumped up and ready to play!
