Provide the following discussion based on the conclusion of your test: If you conclude that there are less than sixteen (16) ounces in a bottle of soda, speculate on three (3) possible causes. Next, suggest the strategies to avoid the deficit in the future.
I conclude that there are less than sixteen (16) ounces in some of the bottles of soda. Some causes that may contribute to the issues may include a mechanical defect with the company’s equipment, employees failed to notice or inspect the bottles before packaging, or the product evaporates or goes flat after a period time has passed. As manager, I recommend that there will be a monthly maintenance check on the equipment and documented. Also, employees will be monitored in how thorough the product is inspected before leaving the assembly line and packaged. Lastly, I will stress to consumers of the possibility that the product may have experienced evaporation and gone flat depending on how long it stays on the shelf unopened.

"Cooley Distillery: The Independent Spirit of Ireland" is a "David and Goliath" case surrounding Cooley Distillery, which is the only independently owned Irish whiskey distiller in the world. Located in Ireland, the company has managed to survive strong competition in the oligopolistic category of Irish whiskey in the global spirits industry for 25 years. The non-listed public company has remained a niche player despite gaining a staggering reputation for quality and innovation in its offerings. One of the biggest problems faced by the company is that in all these years, Cooley Distillery has never managed to pay any dividends to its 290 shareholders and John Teeling, the founder and chairman

Boston Beer’s strategy is primarily focused on growth through differentiation. The sources of its competitive advantage can be classified as a company that provides high quality beer with unique flavors, a market driven approach, and a very efficient contract brewing strategy.
The case study on Pacific Oil Company shows from beginning to end the role of power in the outcome of a negotiation. From the beginning, the problem that Pacific Oil Company faced as it reopened negotiations with Reliant Chemical Company was that they did not assert the power necessary to really end up with the outcome of the negotiation they were hoping for. The case study points out several factors that Pacific Oil Company is trying to achieve in the contract negotiations with Reliant Chemical company: the change to a surplus of VCM in the market, the possibility of Pacific Oil needing a supply of their own of VCM to produce their own PVC, and the start-up of several other companies in the production of VCM (Lewiski, n.d.). These
Boston Beer Company (BBC) has enjoyed much success with their craft beers with Samuel Adams as their main focus. Being the leader of this segment, overtopping five of their competitors combined (Exhibit 1), the company now must decide how to take advantage of the light beer market. Boston Lightship, their current light beer, had been a small contributor in BBC’s product line. Currently, it is facing dwindling sales with product volumes down from 12 000 cases per month to 3000 cases per month.
The objective of this report was to analyze Vivint-Smart Home Solutions’ performance in terms of organisational culture, management and leadership styles and motivation and how organizations have been affected by them. In this report, we identified that Vivint has an association of Hierarchy and Market organisational culture, relationship-oriented and task-oriented leadership styles and servant leadership style. Moreover, it demonstrated that Vivint has intrinsic and extrinsic rewards. These resulted in successful and unsuccessful practices of Vivint based on the Undercover Boss TV series based on three aspects which have been mentioned above. In addition, this report critiqued the Undercover Boss method for discovering the problems within an organisation and recommended other processes for uncovering issues. The results showed that organisational culture, management and leadership styles as well as motivation played significant roles in Vivint’s performance. Recommendations have been made to improve the unsuccessful practices of Vivint such as training managers to be empathic problem solver, examining and updating the working condition regularly, bonus for employees who give feedback voluntarily on management processes and offering fund to employees who are in need of support.
Production line workers are the employees who are usually doing their work by hand or in this day and age, running the machine or equipment to make the products. In this particular case, Canada Chemicals Corporation utilizes their production employees by producing industrial chemicals. These production worker’s jobs are a lot more complete then other production level workers employees as they usually have plenty of skill, knowledge and experience, and have high educational background. In order to reverse recent challenges with production and sales, I have composed a compensation package for these employees that will motivate them intrinsically, and focus on rewards that are extrinsic.
The main problem in this case “Bottling at Creemore Springs Brewery” is that will the cleaning of the bottles change to be in the house cleaning or maintain its current method of cleaning with a contractor. Having Thompson and Fuller responsible for the decision to be made, which have to be a strategic one or it will effect the long term profitability and success of the company. They have to make the company be more productive and efficient.
Estimates of fixed costs are reasonably straightforward and are given in the case (p.280), a total of $250,000 ($160,000+$90,000).
The customers in this case study have complained that the bottling company provides less than the advertised sixteen ounces of product. They need to determine if there is enough evidence to conclude the soda bottles do not contain sixteen ounces. The sample size of sodas is 30 and has a mean of 14.9. The standard deviation is found to be 0.55. With these calculations and a confidence level of 95%, the confidence interval would be 0.2. There is a 95% certainty that the true population mean falls within the range of 14.7 to 15.1.
* From the firings, we can see that management does not share Arnell’s plans for massive changes.
In the summer of 1998, Nantucket Nectar created a subsidiary of their brand called Juice Guys. This new product was comprised of fresh juice and fruit smoothie drinks that were taking over the West Coast. Within three-and-a-half months, Juice Guys had sold a total of 175,000 items ranging from smoothies, yogurts, sorbets, Nantucket Nectar drinks and fresh squeezed juices. Juice Guys’ revenue went up to 91% and they made a profit of $227,000 in sales.
Some of the possible causes of the possible causes of the difference of the average amount of soda per bottle could be that there is a maintenance issue with the machines that dispense the soda into the bottles. Calibration of the machinery could resolve the issue. A second reason that the bottles contain less than 16oz on average is that there could be an issue with the loss of product between the bottles being filled and the bottle caps being put on. In this case, the bottles would need to be monitored between being filled and being capped to observe any variance in that phase of the bottling process. A third reason that the bottles contain less than 16oz on average could be a faulty measurement process. If in the filling process the soda is freshly mixed and contains various amounts of air and once the product settles the air is dispersed the bottle volume may be less than it was when it was filled. So if the volume is measured any time before the air is dispersed and the product settles then there would be a random variance in the volume. This can be resolved in many ways, but I speculate that the easiest and
But as the company grows, they will have to let go of this structure and culture. Even Peter wonders if this structure is suitable if the company will grow in the future. SOLUTION: By growing as a corporation in the future, the company should and will hire more and more employees, and as the personnel increases in number, the organizational structure and the culture will change.

Their flagship product, GangBuster, has been highly successful for the past 5 years. However, they have been thinking of entering the market for Energy Drinks for kids. Paul Diaz also comes up with a revolutionary idea of the dual-drink, having two separate flavored drinks in a bottle and being able to mix both flavors. Due to the limited resources of United Beverages, they have two weeks to decide whether to expand their portfolio or not?
