Fear is a common human emotion, but the way some people react is different than others. Although, it is harder on some humans unlike other people. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said,” Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world.” I think that means that fear harms more people than anything else does in the whole world. Also that people can scare themselves way easier than normal and it’s not healthy.

Fear can motivate you to do something or stop you. One way is when doing something you know someone will do it. Heaven’s Gate Heaven’s Gate was an apocalyptic cult that believed that their only way to be savoured was to commit mass suicide. The group was formed in the early 1970’s and ended on the 26th of March 1997. It was believed that the group were trying to leave earth by boarding an alien ship (ufo) that was following the comet Hale- Bopp because the earth was going to be “wiped clean, renewed, refurbished, and rejuvenated” (recycled). They committed suicide because they believed that their body was the vehicle to this “spaceship” which would lead them to another world/life.

Through that, fear is also able to hurt people around them and make them more greedy and selfish. Fear can create chaos and mass destruction.

What does fear do to people? Fear causes people to act irrationally because they assume the worst about the people they encounter either in public or in private. People are judged every day for the way they appear. The people around you are constantly judging you, and sometimes they may be intimidated because of how you look or dress, like in the Christmas carolers article where the people getting pranked were scared because of the way the carolers looked or in The Off Season when Parkhill killed a Martian because he didn’t understand what their intentions were on Mars. Due to people’s fears of what could happen with the people they encounter, they become the stereotypers not the people being stereotyped.
