Literature review
To being with it was imperative that the research project was going to be conducted through research of secondary data existing on the subject area, in order to complete the information and evaluate this by means of producing a literature review.
Secondary data was accessed through De Montfort University library, employing both tertiary and secondary information sources, databases, Internet search engines and directories. As the research was not local, it was unlikely that literature about De Montfort University British Indian undergraduate students would not be easily accessible. Therefore, research from the secondary sources was crucial to the development of the literature review, as was the use of the De Montfort University library.
Moving onto, the self-concept theory which focuses on one’s self-beliefs, preferences, opinions and attitudes [1] all to fit one’s personal being. In psychology it is seen to be very complex as every individual has a very different personalities, it is to say that sometimes we do not understand what is going on inside of us [1]. Rene Descartes had made the primitive discovery that in the self-concept theory suggested that a persona existence depended on how that person perceives himself or herself to the world. Sigmund Freud who is a renowned psychologists whose work converge on theories that proposed an argument about our intellectual process. Freud concept postulates that we hold three main aspects within us, such as the

Secondary research is done to research the data collection through the study of information which has already being researched from the hospital websites, articles, discharge and intake records or through primary research.

The psychological positivism theory concentrates on all of the mental aspects of why an individual commits a crime, and associates it with their intelligence, personality, learning, and criminal behaviour. It looks at the determinations, thoughts, intentions and reactions of criminals and all that contributes in the criminal behaviour. Explanations of criminal behaviour were explained by looking at the work of Sigmund Freud (1956-1939). He established the psychoanalytical model in which he believed that a human progresses, early in life. Freud discusses that the human personality has three sets of interacting forces. These include the id, the ego and the superego. These are three components in a human personality that pledge them to behave in the manner they do and make individuals they are. Firstly Freud believes that humans are born with their id. He suggests that the id holds importance for personality. The id allows a new-born to get its desires met by crying. Freud mentions that the id is set on getting pleasure and the id wants whatever feels good despite the circumstances. In addition to this Freud had mentioned the second component of the personality develops. This is known as the ego, it understands feeling and emotions of others and takes them into account. Freud then suggest that the ego meets the needs of the id, at the same time looking at the reality of the condition. Since the moment one is born, until one’s life comes to a halting end, he or she is always in a quest to find his or her self. Clearly, the concept of self is rather complex. Humans are different entities, with varied views on the world, which is what makes the universe such an interesting place. Of course, people are born with certain characteristics that become the bases for who he or she is. Yet, the components that fall under the self, such as, self concept, self knowledge, self esteem continue to change. Interestingly enough, the self falls under a specific spectrum. Murphy (as cited by Gross, 2001) stated the self is part of the individual which is understood and know to by the individual them self. The main difficulty for secondary literature review, it should be reliable and valid source to assess or to form a conclusion for a research. Therefore it is important to undertake a research ethically passed by ethics committee (Homan, 1991).

There can be certain limitations of methodology and the new researchers may criticise it for being incomplete. As research is a circular process in which ideas can be added and extracted by researchers anytime, the application of the presented ideas by one researcher are tested and verified.
