Jameis Winston has threw for 60 touchdowns and 10,000 yards for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in just three years. He is the second youngest to ever throw for 10,000 yards. Winston has been the heart and soul of the team since his arrival despite the odds he has faced on and off the field. Many fans did not want the Buccaneers to draft Winston and still have not let off the point of having Marcus Mariota in Tampa Bay. Lets just compare the two QB's. Winston has played in every game of his career Mariota has missed at least one game every season since entering the league. Mariota has always had a very good offensive line with a great running game the last two seasons, outside of Winston's rookie season the Bucs have not had a running attack that scares anyone. Winston has thrown for 10,052 yards in his short career while Mariota has thrown for 7,763. Winston has played with widerecievers that the Bucs have found on the street for the good majority of the seasons at the begining of his career with the injuries that have hit the reciever room. …show more content…
Some fans are ready to cut or trade Jameis because he is not leading the Buccaneers to the promise land this year. Im not sure but I am certain that Jameis can not run the ball on running downs. Block on passing plays and play defense. Lets not just put all the blame on Jameis when it is a team game. He is the only quaterback that gets the critism when the team plays bad and get hit with a but when the team is playing well. Jameis is not going anywhere anytime soon fans so get on board and support your quaterback and his
Tom Brady went to Michigan to play football and he was not the best. He got drafted by the New England Patriots with the 199th pick of the 6th round for the 2000 NFL Draft. Tom Brady is easily the best with that late of a pick. After that, Brady has had no season with a win percentage below 50%. Tom Brady has dominated in the NFL ever since he has been drafted. When you look at Tom Brady’s career stats, you won’t see any season that really pops out. This is because every season was a monster season. Well, not in 2008 because he was injured but other than that, he is a very elite
The media does not like the idea of someone other than Tom Brady or Peyton manning dominating the quarterback position, especially a black quarterback. It is time for the media to move into 2015 like the rest of the world is.
Different quarterbacks have different strengths and weaknesses, and each one is better suited for a particular playing style. Quick and athletic quarterbacks for example are able to go on a run before throwing passes, while others prefer to stay behind their offensive linemen and pass the ball. Others are better at throwing the ball long distances, others short. Their whole skillset is defined by attributes such as acceleration, strength, throw power etc. When selecting your team, bear in mind that your quarterback should suit your playing style. Remember to always check his stats and make your decision based on whether he is the right player for you or not.
As much as Broncos fans were joyful for the win over the Patriots on November 30th, it only deepened the conundrum that surrounds the mile-high team. This issue lies around Denver’s two quarterbacks, Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler. Peyton Manning, who once seemed like a paragon for the sport is now slipping from football fame. After leaving the Colts, a team where he had success, Denver seemed like the perfect place to continue his legacy. With eager fans, a strong defense, and a former Bronco QB as general manager, who wouldn’t want join that opportunity. However, football is a challenging and fickle sport, and this winter season especially seems to be a difficult one for Manning. With too many interceptions, and a recent plantar fascia injury to his left foot, he’s
Larry Fitzgerald a record earning wide receiver from the American Cardinals was the fourth overall pick in the 2004 draft (a draft is when NFL teams select eligible college football players for their team) and currently ranks fifth in all time NFL history in receiving yards per game. On November 24th , 2013, at 30 years old, he became the youngest NFL receiver to reach 11,000 career receiving yards. He agreed to an eight year, 120 million dollar contract extension on August 20, 2011.
All three of these outstanding college quarterbacks went on to lead less than stellar lives in the NFL. Each were top recruits in their class when coming into the college world and were sot after by many NFL teams, much like Deshaun Watson. With the similarities so astounding, this begs the question; is Watson ready for the NFL?
Looking back at his stats you can see that post-2012 have been nothing to brag about. (Again disregarding his 2015 season) With only 26 total rushing TD's in six seasons and only 2 receiving, it is time for the next man to step up. I have defended Doug Martin until I was blue in the face and my fingertips callused from the countless times I've had to argue his worth. I have to give my fingers a rest.
Taking nothing from him, he at the very least doesn't turn the ball over. Only one interception is his two starts. One of the biggest concerns many people have noticed with him is at times he holds on to the ball a little longer than necessary in the pocket which causes him to get sacked more than he should. Although, he improved that much more in the game against New England than he did against the Chicago Bears the prior
“Brett Favre is one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of professional football. You are judged by winning, and he’s won more games than any other quarterback who has ever played. But I will remember him just as well for being such a fierce competitor and outstanding leader. He was the face of the Packers and a great credit to our game. It was an honor to coach against him.”(Mike Shanahan, Denver Broncos Head Coach) Brett’s passion for the game, and winning history, together earned him the respect of the entire football nation. I am going to give you a summary of this incredible athlete’s life, covering both the ups and downs of his bumpy road to success. I am using factual
The Carolina Panthers found themselves a star in Kelvin Benjamin drafting him 28th overall in 2014 draft. We took him 28th overall I think he has already become a steal for the Panthers and Dave Gettleman who is a great evaluator of talent. He took the NFL by storm becoming quarterback Cam Newton's favorite target right away and for good reason; setting Panther rookie records for receptions receiving yards and touchdowns with 79 catches 1008 yards and nine touchdowns.
The problem is that Tim Tebow is switching to baseball and it’s making people think it’s because of his fame and not his skill. From a 1-10 scale point, the problem is a 4-10. This means it’s not that big of a deal but it’s still making people upset. With
It went for ten yards.Rodgers completed the first pass he threw in the NFL, it went for zero yards and was his only pass of the game in mop up duty of a 51-3 win over the New Orleans Saints in 2005.Through the 2010 season, Greg Jenning has caught more touchdown passes thrown by Aaron Rodgers than anyone else in the league with 25. Donald Driver was in second place with 15. The first rushing attempt of his NFL career came in 2005 and went for eight yards in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The first rushing touchdown he would ever get came in week one of the 2008 season when his one yard quarterback sneak across the goal line would extend the Packers lead in their eventual 24-19 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The first three rushing touchdowns of Aaron Rodgers career all went for one yard. His first 300 yard game came in week two of the 2008 season. The Packers would win in Detroit 48-25 and Rodgers would go 24 of 38 for 328 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.Aaron Rodgers would end up with a quarterback rating of over 121.0 in each of his first three playoff games. His first touchdown pass would go to Greg Jennings in 2007, his first TD pass as a starter would come in 2008 in week one and would be a one yarder to Corey Hall. In 2009, Jennings also caught Aaron Rodgers’ first playoff touchdown
He was the highest drafted black quarterback ever. That year, Steve signed a contract for $28.4 million for 7 years, and the first thing he did with that money was build a new house for his mom in Mt. Olive, MI. At 22, he was the Oilers highest paid player. In the offseason that year he was tutored intensively. His primary mission in the 95 and 96 season was to absorb knowledge and make the leap to the NFL. During his rookie season when the starting quarterback was injured, Steve played against the Detroit Lions the second half of the game. He completed 16/27 passes for 203 yards including a TD. He started the next 2 games and won both. During 1996, he played 10 games and started 4. The team went 8-8, just missing the playoffs. During the 1997 season, Steve had 674 rushing yards, which was the third highest for a QB in the NFL. He had the second best overall rating of any QB drafted in the last 6 years. In the 1998 season, the Titans placed second in the AFC Central. In 1999 Steve had a fantastic performance against the Bengals in a 36-35 win with 21/32 passing with 341 yards and 3 TD’s. He led Tennessee to the AFC Championship. The Titans moved on to their 1st Super Bowl berth, where they faced the St. Louis Rams. Steve became the second black QB to start in the Super Bowl. The Titans ended up losing to the Rams in a nail biting game, but Steve’s strong performance didn’t go unnoticed. People considered him a
Off topic a little, I don’t think Ryan Fitzpatrick is that good or worth $12 million he held out for. I do believe if he would have signed earlier in the offseason and worked out with the team, the
One of the team’s biggest strengths is their powerhouse offense. But the man under center is what makes that powerhouse offense run. That man is Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league if not the best. His statistics are unbelievable. He has the highest quarterback rating in NFL history at 103.8, while the second closest is 98.9. He has thrown 300 touchdowns to only 74 interceptions. That being a 4:1 touchdown to interception ratio, also the best in NFL history. One of his most impressive streaks was his success at home. In 2015, he threw an interception at home. The last one he threw at home before that was in 2012. He went three years without throwing an interception at home. Truly a remarkable feat. In 2011, Aaron had one of the best seasons
