Educators have a very large impact on children of all ages, and sometimes they are the only positive influence that the children have in their lives. Children are enrolled in schools and/or educational programs to learn the basics of reading, writing, math, and many other curricula like this. However, I believe that in order to be a successful teacher you have to work to your best ability to provide a safe place for your students while making it fun and educational. I believe it is important for each individual to feel loved while they are learning during their time at school. There are many students that have had great experiences with their teachers, while others have not been so fortunate. I want to be an educator because I believe I can make a positive impact on the children’s lives by showing them that I care, and because I was fortunate to have educators that made me love school. In today’s time more than ever, there are many children who come to school as their safe place. When they go home, the children are abused mentally, physically, or emotionally. I have a passion in me to help these students in any way that I can, and by being an educator I believe I can help in a small way. I desire to have a relationship with each of my students to where they can confide in me if they need to, and then I can help in some way. While being a mandated reporter is a hard task, I would much rather feel that I have helped the student than to sit by and watch them continuously be
I believe that education is the key in developing today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders. Education is the basis on which individuals develop their self-concept and the desire to become more knowledgeable. I want to become an educator because I am interested in helping elementary students become active learners and also to assist with their social skills. I believe I can make a difference to many students as they start their educational foundation. I feel that all teachers should possess the desire to devote their hard work and efforts to their students’ educational success. I view teaching as not only one of the most respected careers, but also as one in which the rewards are great and many
Most of my life I have been surrounded by children especially my cousins, nieces and nephews.
There has always been one big idea that my family stressed on me growing up while in school. That big idea is going to college to get a degree in something that I would like to do for the rest of my life.I thought that they were wrong because who really wants to go to a school that you have to pay for yourself.Until I made it to high school and by my sophomore year I actually figured out what I wanted to be and do for the rest of my life.I want to be a History teacher. The reason why because not only do teachers teach kids what they are supposed to but they also teach them certain life lessons that can help them lead a good life.I am writing to you specifically because it would be a great honor to be accepted into your college. You may ask why a history teacher and why not a english or math teacher, subjects that we are going to use in everyday.I chose history because it is the one and only subject that caught my eye and one that I actually understood. Now I want to take the time to explain why I would the best candidate for your college. Not only am I one of consistency or in other words able to stick with one thing and finish it but can also stick with many things and see them out.At times I can be a multitasker but only when I have to because if I always multitask and get everything done at once then I do not learn, so I guess it could be called good time management. My freshman year I joined at my high school the Public Safety Academy because I had in my mindset that I wanted
My purpose in becoming an educator is to have a career with meaning. Throughout my education process, my teachers have always had a great impact on me. They
Why is education such an essential part of our culture? We, as a society, are extremely materialistic and view education as a ladder to a higher socio-economic plateau, which consists of better job opportunities and a better lifestyle. Education is at the core every career imaginable and, regardless of technological advances, there will always be a need for teachers. Teachers touch lives every day. I am becoming an educator because I feel that I can positively influence the lives of others. I am confident in my ability to interact with others as I look forward to improving students’ lives through education.
I am studying Early Childhood Education to become an elementary school teacher. For as long as I remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. I would say that my decision was influenced by the fact that I am the oldest of my siblings and cousins, so I’ve always been the leader and sort of in charge. I am the only girl out of my cousins and brother, so they just accepted the guidance because I had the most attitude. Another reason that could contribute to why I want to teach is my personality. I’ve always been the student to follow the rules and I’ve never been able to understand why some of the other students did not. When my class had Fun Fridays in elementary school, instead of playing games with the rest of the class, I would ask the teacher if I could run errands or help put our graded worksheets in the cubbies. I also read to the pre-k and kindergarten students while I was in fifth grade. The school counselor was the one to give me the opportunity to read to them and many more things that has inspired me. Since it is mandatory for all children to attend school, it is important for them to be safe and comfortable. I want to be a teacher that can make this possible for students. Throughout my life, teachers have helped me with many challenges that I have faced, I know that I can make a positive difference in students’ lives!
Educating children profoundly affects their lives and influences the life of anyone who may come in contact with them. Education is the foundation for a child to base the rest of his or her life on. When a child has become well educated he or she can make decisions that will benefit their interest as well as society as a whole. An educator is someone who cares and wants to see children be successful in class, and in the future. I feel that successful teaching is made of components that build on each other like, love, discipline, understanding and encouragement, and patience and persistence. I love children and I love participating in the process of learning with them. I have come to appreciate learning even more today. I hope to someday be able to give back to our future students what was given to me. I hope to be remembered as the one who helped and made a difference in a child’s life. I have to say as I enter into the profession of teaching my philosophy will grow stronger as I gain experience in the classroom. I truly believe the key to a happy and successful life is having a choice to do what you really want.
I can’t believe you have made it this far! Just three years ago, you were a junior in college suffering through one of the hardest semesters in college. It probably seems like a far away thing now but it was hard. But you made it through and that is all that matters. You are now done with your first year of teaching! Congrats! You finally made it to where you want to be. Now, the real joy begins. Do you remember why you wanted to become a teacher? If you can’t remember, I will remind you. It all started when you were in elementary school with Melanie teaching you some lessons on the whiteboard. Mostly, she taught you math and the most salient problem that I remember her teaching is the Pythagorean Theorem. I don’t know why that stuck out to me the most but that is my earliest memory of thinking I wanted to be a teacher. I loved learning and I always wanted to be on the other side of the board and teach instead of learn. Sometimes, she let me ‘teach’ her but it was mainly things she already knew and just pretended not to because she was three years older than me. My love for teaching just continued throughout my school years, as I happened to be quite proficient in math. Because of this fact, I ended up helping other classmates when they didn’t quite understand what was going on. I loved seeing their faces light up when I was able to help them understand. Most of the time, they just needed a little extra push or they just needed it phrased in a different way. When I was a
I decided to become a teacher, because of my passion for helping others and education. My teachers growing up influenced me greatly and instilled in me the enthusiasm for learning in all aspects. As they not only taught me the essential school curriculum, but they also instilled in me the ability to appreciate education and the profession. I want to teach High School English either eleventh or twelfth grade. I want to teach upper level English course, because of my interest literature and writing efficiency. These grade levels are important in the aspect that it paves the way for higher student learning and preparation for life. It is also in this time that allows for a deeper understanding about literature and how that relates to greater ideas about life.
Ever since I was in high school, my mom has always told me she didn't see me as anything else but that. At that time, I thought my mother was crazy and don't believe a single word she said. I told my mom I was going to become an Mechanical Engineer my senior year of high school. And that's what I did freshmen year of high school. Towards the end of it, I realized engineering wasn't something I truly wanted to do. I went home that summer and saw video of teaching abroad and I realized that what I wanted to do. I wanted to travel and teach. I already liked being around kids and would always smile whenever I saw a small child. It was then I fully committed myself to being a teacher.
When I was a young girl, I enjoyed playing doctor with my family. I was the only one that was willing to clean up a wound and “make it feel better.” So, initially, I wanted to be the best doctor the world had ever seen. That dream was slowly crushed when I nearly passed out as the pediatric nurse came at me with what seemed like a yard long sword. Turns out, I am beyond scared of needles. Who knew that a doctor had to have some affiliation with needles? My five year old self no longer wanted to be a part of this field. I was driven back to school and that was when I realized I wanted to be a teacher. My teacher was very caring and she had the privilege of spending time with five year olds and color all day! Best job ever. Except, I did not think about the naughty kids she had to deal with. That job was out of the big picture too. Although I did not find my passion with these two jobs, I realized what they had in common; the desire to help others. My plan is to become a dental hygienist and then from there, hopefully become a well known orthodontist.
I want to be a teacher in high school. This idea has come from my mother and seeing my teachers. A teacher seemed so interesting and it's something that I’ve wanted to do. I also want to have the thousand days off because I want to have a good amount of myself. I want to work in California since it is convenient for me and for my family. On the other hand, I do want to be a good distance away from them. Its one of those that I want to be both far away from my family and simultaneously in the same state away. I might work at San Marcos High School because it is close to where I want to go to for college. The college is California State University, San Marcos. I want to have a focus on history because it is my favorite subject. The spark came from two of my favorite history teachers in all of my years at the school. They were my eighth-grade teacher and junior year history teacher. They were teachers that just didn’t lecture for hours on end. Both of them made learning about history really fun and I want to continue what they do. I expect to have to get a bachelor’s degree or better in history and other courses since I want to be a history teacher. I would also need to have a degree in teaching and pass its state’s exam for teaching if need be. Some states include a teacher’s program in with the learning that I do at college. The salary for a starting a high school teacher in the Golden State of California is $46,060. The FICA amount I would pay is $3,524. My
Growing up every little girl or boy at one point says they want to be a teacher when they get older. I specifically remember taking home extra worksheets in the first grade so that I could play school with my dolls. I even went as far as telling my mom that when I grew up I wanted to be a teacher so I could yell at little kids. I guess I was a little unclear on the teaching aspect of things. However, here I am all these years later and I am an instructor at a University in West Virginia at my alma mater. This isn’t exactly where I expected my life to take me but I also wouldn’t trade it for the world. If you would have asked high school senior me, I would have said I was going to be a computer specialist. I spoke highly on how computers were going to change the world and I wanted to be there when it happened. Then my freshman year of college I went and helped my cousin’s new husband screen for patients for his Chiropractic office and the Monday after working with him, I changed my major to Biology and set my goal to Chiropractic school.
I knew that I wanted to teach since I was in elementary school, when a new student, who had just arrived from El Salvador, needed help because he did not understand a word of English. I was the only student in the class who was a native Spanish speaker and because of this, I was asked to sit with the student for the rest of the school year, to communicate with him and to help him learn English. I have always enjoyed helping others, but I have never felt greater happiness than being able to witness knowledge being grasped and someone telling me “it finally clicks” or “I understand now.” Becoming a public school teacher has been one of my goals in life because of the reward of making a difference that educators get to experience everyday in schools. I want to be a high school Spanish teacher because I am very proud of my Hispanic culture and language and would like to be able to teach Spanish in order to share my culture, love for learning, and language with students in public schools.
The community I was raised in was quiet and small; everyone knew of each other and of any changes in the community. Growing up in the same public school from K-12 allowed me to know most of my peers since elementary school. During my time in the same public school, I knew many of my teachers for years, each one inspired and influenced me in several different ways. However, they all inspired me to become a teacher and make my mark on a school community. I want to teach because I want to make a positive impact on students as well as the surrounding community. I believe being an educator is a highly rewarding profession in which I can see the changes I can make in others. I want to contribute to the betterment of society not only through my own students, but to their families and the surrounding community as well.
