Honor Society Letter

Being involved is important to me because I want to help people and make the most of my life. In life, I know that I will learn new ideas, meet new people, and be out of my comfort zone at times, and I love it; I love connecting with people and learning new information. I love being able to volunteering and see the impact that I can make. I enjoy being a part of something bigger than myself. Because of this, I believe that I would be a valuable asset to National Honor Society because I believe that I exhibit the four essential pillars necessary not only to succeed in life but also to become a member of this prestigious group.

It with great pleasure that I recommend Robert for admission into National Honor Society. As his Boy Scout Community Service Advisor for over 7 years, it has always been clear to me that he has a strong desire to serve his community. Robert has been a very active volunteer in his community since he was in fifth grade and the lessons and skills that he has learned from these experiences are reflected in his character, which is very rare among youth his age. He knows that, even though he is still a minor, he can make a large impact in his community by sacrificing a few hours of his time to helping others.

Being a part of National Honor Society means that I am held at a higher standard than most students. I am to uphold the four pillars of National Honor Society, which are service, scholarship, leadership, and character. All four aspects of NHS have been important in my life and have shaped me into who I am today. Being involved with and serving my community has given me a better understanding of the needs of a community. I have had the opportunities to help people, which brings me joy, and gives me a way to reach out to my surrounding area. I am excited to be one of the candidates for the 2017-2018 National Junior Honor Society. I understand that the National Junior Honor Society is for students who demonstrate exemplary scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership, and character. I believe that I have maintained a grade point average of 3.55 or higher and have shown all of the five given standards of the National Junior Honor Society. I believe that my involvement with the National Junior Honor Society will help me to prepare my future as a leader, character role model, and good citizen.

Thank you for your consideration of me as a candidate for the National Honor Society, it means a tremendous deal to me. I have worked extremely hard to earn my chance to become a member of the National Honor Society and this application resembles a small prize on the enduring path to success for me. I believe, as a member of the National Honor Society, I will be able to enhance my spirit of service and accomplish more service goals and projects. Although, I already have many leadership skills under my belt, I can only imagine the many more skills I will gain from being a member of the National Honor Society. I believe you can never stop learning.

I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.

The reason that I am interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society is because the National Honor Society represents all of the values that I find most important in my education and life. National Honor Society requires academic excellence throughout high school. At the beginning of my Freshman year, I set a goal to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. I have worked diligently to achieve and maintain this grade point average while taking several advanced classes. So far, I have taken three classes for college credit and plan to take multiple more during my senior year. Through the course of my high school education, I have realized how important it is for an individual to develop and maintain these studious habits. I believe i should be in National Junior honor society because i work hard to keep my grades up, I take responsibility for my actions, I join in on school events like the dances and make sure i'm polite to my peers. I show leadership when the teacher leaves the room and i decide not to mess around, listening to the teacher in class and showing up to school with a positive attitude. When i show up to school with a positive attitude i smile say good morning and i’m ready to learn.

I believe I qualify for membership in the National Honor Society for the reason that I love helping out with school activities and non-school activities. I find pleasure in helping out in my community and being an exceptional example for kids that may look up to me or are younger than me.

I remember last year after receiving the letter from NHS that I had not been accepted into National Honors Society, as dreadful as it was to receive that bad news I learned many things that emphasize and describe my character. I noticed how throughout Freshman and part of Sophomore year of High School I was just a student who focused heavily on school work rather that combining school work with a social and meaningful life. After realizing my past I had to act on that and change the way I once was, I recognized how much I lacked in leadership and service within the community. National Honor Society is a huge honor to be on and there are many reasons why I think I should be picked. First off, I have always done my best in school and my grades are very important in my family. My mom is from a small town that has very low income and, my parents have always done their best to give me everything that they can. I try to keep my grades high to show them how much I appreciate them. My future is everything to me and I want to do my best at everything. An example on how my future means so much to me is that this semester I am taking 2 college classes along with my regular Junior classes. I have been in band since 5th grade and I love it so much. I deserve to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I’ve earned it. Over my high school career, I have been through many challenges, but I learned to face them head on with a positive attitude knowing how good the outcome can be. I fit the qualifications to be a member and if I do not fulfill them to a certain level, I will work on how to reach them.
