History is events that happened in the past to impact the world. Anyone can make history, but the events of that history have no impact unless one writes the history down. The quote “Any fool can make history, but it takes a genius to write it” explains how history is truly made. The quote means that any person, no matter how uneducated they are can make history, but it takes a highly educated person to make history and make the event known. Anyone can make history because history is the events that happened. For example, one can make history by eating an apple, but that won’t be known because eating an apple isn’t a significant event to the world. When one eats an apple, it’s an event that has happened, but it isn’t a very great event to other …show more content…
History also helps prepare one to face the future, so one does not repeat the same mistakes. The quote “History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves and of our common humanity, so that we can better face the future” explains that history is not something one can program and plan out. History is information of events of what happened such as, how one’s background and places came to be, so one does not have to question life and the world. History also helps one by revealing important information that can be used to help improve the future. For example, 9/11 was a terrible event that had happened in 2001. People use that piece of information and make a better future. After the event, the security of airports and the military was improved drastically to prevent the mistakes from happening again. If the same mistake were to happened again, money and time would be wasted to recover the damages and many people will lose their lives. The quote means one cannot program and plan out history for the future, but history can be used as information to understand the world and improve the
The way the world is surrounded by technology, not being able to understand technology is difficult but not “death in life”. Today, almost anything on paper is easily accessed on a laptop or smartphone. However, if you're technologically illiterate, you still have access to everything on paper, you just may have to look harder for it. In the text, Carole says “Now I can read, I can read books, anything. I can write. In English and French.” When I read that quote, I think of Carole's troubles when learning to read on paper, now she has to learn all over again on a laptop. Personally, I find it very hard to read off of a smartboard or laptop and I can only think of the struggles coming Carole's way in the 21st century. Some challenges could be,
History enables people to discover their own place in the stories of their families, communities, and nation. History shows strength in countries and guides approaches in life. As citizens learn more about history, critical skill develop throughout that process. Its very important to know a type of history to have a sense of independent thinking and to understand cultural heritage. Learning about history brings discussions about debatable issues, and having a better understanding of the challenges the nation could be facing. Without historical leaders, leadership skills wouldn't be as strong as they are today, learning apart of history inspires local and global leaders, giving role models for the type of leaders that deal with difficult challenges in their community, nation and even the globe world. Without the preservation of our histories, future citizens will have no grounding in what it means to be an American
Finally, through history we can do things correctly. We might have done much better than before because we already know its history. And besides, everything that is happening today is the product of history. It helps us become more efficient in decision making, one starts to inquire and be interested in things that may greatly affect lives in the present and
History matters a lot for each human life. First of all, it helps us to understand
To begin with, what is history? The answer to this question varies depending on whom is being inquired. Predominantly, history is regarded as the study of the evolution of ideas or events in chronological order. History is frequently applied to study topics such as economics, culture, politics and society. However, it can also be utilized to clarify alternative topics such as science, ideology, technology and more. The challenging aspect of history is to obtain documents and sources that are not biased or are coherent enough to trust.
People can learn a lot of things from the past. As time go though the past gives us a lesson to learn. History is one of the important element that taught and inspire people to do great thing compare to the past. History taught us beliefs, values, and different traditions of a culture, even architecture had an influence by the past project. From the very beginning of architecture, people started to build a little tent using branch and stone. After that people start to build column to support the building. One of the examples that has shown the architecture had learn from the past is the acropolis of Athens and the white house at Washington D.C.
Steinbeck wrote about many different characters who are full of dreams which sadly none of their dreams came true. Everyone has a big dream that would like to accomplish one day but sometimes , when we get lonely our dreams don’t come true. Through these characters John Steinbeck shows the effects about true loneliness.
“Hopes and dreams help people survive, even if they can never become real.” This statement plays an enormous part in Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck. An abundance of the characters in this book all have something they want to accomplish, even if what they want to reach isn’t necessarily the most practical thing under the circumstances. Each character in the book has obstacles to overcome, and in the end, we don’t really find out the denouement of most character, we only find out the true ending to two characters.
History is a look into the past, showing how the world used to be compared to how the world is now. History is the structure we live by. It is how we came to be. Without history we would not know any of the important details about the past. For example, it is important to know why certain events happened. The different movements that caused the world to change and work the way it works today. History has a way to be very helpful. Knowing where we came from in this world and how we got to this point and time in our lives. Learning about what has happened in the past can also teach what not to do, so we do not repeat it.
“I don’t understand why I have to take this class. All that old history stuff has no relevance to my life, and it is a waste of time to fool with it. My life today is more important than the lives of all those dead and boring people.” This remark is said more frequently than we realize. History is a combination of events that created our present and future today. The past it what simply gives our present it’s value. Another way to look at history is it can be compared to our ancestry line. Without our ancestors we wouldn’t have the make-up of genes that we do today. For example, the Columbian exchange is one of the events in history that has really impacted our world. Not only did one change come from the event but a variety including food, plants, animals, goods and knowledge. History also exposes knowledge to us. It is the resource that allows us to better our lives and expand our knowledge. Believe it or not, our life we peruse everyday consist of history. Including languages, we inherited, religions that weren’t just created on the spot, technologies that have been upgraded in the past years, and the clothing we decided to put on our backs everyday that has evolved from different materials to different fittings. The world has evolved in many ways in the past and it continues to evolve.
Has there ever been an insightful enough book that looks into a topic no one really bothers to read or think about? Yes. Of Mice and Men is a dramatic fiction story, and was written by John Steinbeck. It showcases life during the Great Depression, and was published in 1937. Of Mice and Men conveys a tragic, and almost predictable story of how two men bonded by natural attraction through loneliness, concocted a truly elaborate plan for an end-game, but ended up leaving one man with nothing but his own guilt and the other’s memory.
In life and in history you have to make challenging decisions. If you make the wrong decision it can affect you. History and aren’t supposed to be simple, you will have both the ups and the downs in life. In life, you have to persevere through those times, because they will often happen. History, is the same way when countries were in war they had to preserve.
It is a widely accepted notion that working hard will automatically pay off. This may not be difficult to believe since putting in the extra effort and studying more for a quiz usually results in a better grade and carefully looking over work before submitting it makes it more likely to get published. Countless famous individuals have vouched for this idea. Lailah Gifty Akita once said, “Without discipline, hard work, and commitment, we will never have realized our dreams.” This quote clearly states Akita’s belief that hard work and effort will translate into prosperity.
Losing something or someone that you secretly always wanted to get rid of is a lot harder than you would think. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is about two lonely men by the names of Lennie and George. These men are traveling together to their new job because of the trouble that Lennie always seems to get in. They travel together because of Lennie’s mental incapabilities. Lennie doesn’t understand and is always getting himself and George into a lot of trouble. Of Mice and Men reveals that humanity is going to be upset if they lose something important to them even if they thought they wanted it gone the entire time.
This quote is the resolution in Unbroken. After being rescued from Japan, the falling point of the book, Louie’s post-war life suffered from frequent flashbacks and nightmares and he struggled with alcoholism. He had secretly dedicated his life to killing his past tormentor, Mutushiro Watanabe, thinking it was the only way for him to move on. At one point, during one of Louie’s flashbacks, he began to choke his own child thinking it was Watanabe. His wife, Cynthia, had temporarily left him. However, after being talked into attending a sermon led by Billy Graham, he remembered his past promises to God. When Louie was lost at sea, he prayed for rain and promised that if rain was provided for him, he would dedicate his life to God. This quote
