Debates over the benefits of homework include “immediate impact on the retention and understanding of the material it covers” (Cooper, 1989, p.86) and downsides of homework include “satiation, denial of access to leisure time and community activities; parental interference; cheating; and increased differences between high and low achievers” (Cooper, 2006, p.7) have led to a see-saw of support and objection regarding homework. However, teacher selected assignments are designed for the class as a whole, not for individual students. The logical answer is to have students to select homework assignments to specifically address their particular weaknesses. A third question as follows: • Does student attitude towards homework have an effect on homework completion? The latter question is important in order to understand why students might choose to do homework or choose not to complete homework. It is important to understand how to get students to complete the homework as a practice, then following up with choice type. Data will be measured by employing a pre-test and post-test to measure the increase in knowledge of material in the following time-frame: A survey will also be given to collect data on what factors might influence students to complete homework or to decide not to complete homework. When educators understand more about each child individually then they can apply the appropriate teaching strategies. If the children seem uninterested in an assignment, the educator can adjust it to get them more interested and willing to complete the assignment.

Earthquakes affect people in different ways like either mentally or physically or even both. People in most country's around the ring of fire would be used to earthquakes because that is where most of them happen, but the people that live where big earthquakes happen will not get used to them because they would be on edge all the time wondering when the next one will hit. In japan they had a 9.1 earthquake at 2:46pm on the 11th of March 2011. The earthquake was then followed by a 133ft tsunami. It would have affected a lot of people in japan because nearly 20,000 people died in the earthquake/tsunami and it will cost them around $38,540,760 to fix the damage.
Currently in South Africa there are 5.26 million people living with HIV. This means that 10% of the South African population is directly affected by the virus and requires us to ensure clear guidelines are in place for the management of HIV (Statistics South Africa, 2013).
In four years, high school students gain information from various subject areas that help them towards preparing them for college. An important method used to check the learning levels of students is in-class tests. These timed tests are given periodically to show how well students are learning from each academic subject. However, there is a question of whether in-class tests actually help high school students prepare for advanced college work. As research, I conducted a survey on a sample of college students about their experiences with classroom tests in high school and their effectiveness in preparing them for college. While most students would think in-class high school tests do not prepare them for college, my survey results show in-class tests help prepare high school students for college because they build students’ academic skills needed to tackle college work. Yet, certain issues with in-class tests, like the studying techniques can be adjusted to better reflect college work.
