My mind started to roam on the possibility that God or a higher being created the universe. Mostly, I am an open-minded person and after reading about the creation story, my mind was thinking about all different types of scenarios relating to the story. When God finished his creation, “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good” (The Bible). My thoughts viewed God as more than just a creator but someone who’s first intention was to create good. Which brings me to my thoughts on humanity. I think humanity is naturally curious and selfish. Humanity is a race that beholds these characteristics similarly to the selfish and curious act of Adam and Eve. My thoughts have always been the same and reading about the creation story has farther proved my point. On the other hand, I have always thought the point of humanity was to have a purpose on earth. After reading about how God created humans to be responsible for the care of earth, I had to agree with his intentions. I do believe all humans have a certain purpose on earth whether that be a good or bad purpose. God’s intentions follow a similar light to my thoughts. I do think it is a responsibility for us to care for the earth, we live here and we should all take care of it. God created all things in harmony. He established a perfect creation that he loves and over which he rules. The highest honor is given to mankind as the only part of creation made in God’s image. In Genesis, we see the foundation laid out for the entire Bible, beginning with a bang in Genesis 1:1 (In the beginning God created the heavens in the earth). We see this God interwoven throughout the rest of the entire Bible in the lives of man, the people with whom He loves unconditionally. Focusing on the first 11 chapters of this inspired book in the Bible, we see countless lessons and instruction from the supreme, yet intimate God. The first couple chapters in Genesis give us a peek into humanity in its very origins; in being able to view God’s fingerprint in the natural world, in humanity as we find our identity, in the relationships that we exhibit every day, and in civilization as a whole.

The first Act from the text is called “Act one, God establishes His kingdom.” Genesis 1 describes how God, or Yahweh as the title He selects as the savior is the one that brings the whole world into being, with in mind a unique relationship with humans, the last of His creations. Genesis 2 is more focused on man and woman and Gods relationship with each other (33). Once God formed new creatures, He would then name each showing his supremacy over each that He created (31). The last formed creatures God created is humans and we are to have a special relationship with God, and we as humans are responsible for special care of the world, as caretakers of His creation we will be held accountable (33-34). Men and women are the only creatures to enter into a special relationship with the creator and as creatures of the almighty God, the one way for each person to fill the longing for peace in their hearts is through a relationship with God (32). God formed humans in his image and in his likeness as humans our life on earth is limited, and we know that God is unlimited as ruler over all that walks, crawls, breaths and all that exists (33).
