“A hero is no braver than an ordinary man,but he is brave five minutes longer”.(Ralph waldo Emerson)Some people might think being a hero is all about flying,super strength,and just having special abilities,when it really isn't. Being a hero is all about helping people when being bullied or standing up for your rights and having bravery in your mind and courage. Hero’s take risk, they aren't cowards,and they show lots of bravery. Heros put other people's feelings into to their shoes and show their empathy towards they.They don't let the go through things alone. Heroes are those who takes risk, just like Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. Fredrick has done a lot to be labeled as a hero for instance .They both stood up for what they believed in,even though doing so put them in risk.According to Douglass’s autobiography,Douglass wrote,”speaking to white people weighed him down”, however,[he] became a well-known abolitionist speaker.[he] explained,”from that time until now,he had been engaged in pleading the cause of his brethren” (Douglass72). This shows that although speaking to white people was intimidating-speaking to the “wrong one” would result in his capture-Douglass spoke out against the evils of slavery anyway. A hero does not run in the opposite direction of danger. He isn't scared of the risk he’ll have to take in the long run just like Frederick Douglass,he was an escaped slave ,and he knew if he got caught he would have to go back and get torchered,he knew if he talked to the wrong white person something bad will happened.
