Fast-Casual Restaurants in Ukraine

Many US consumers want their meals in a hurry, but with more service and higher quality food than in traditional fast food restaurant. The result has been the rise of fast-casual restaurant chains such as Daphne 's Greek Cafe, Boston Market and Panera Bread. The intent of fast casual restaurants is to deliver a quality home cooked meal such as roast chicken, or fresh salad and bread in comfortable setting and quickly. Additionally, some people live and work in the small towns where fast casual restaurants have not yet established and there actually the demand is very small for such restaurants because people live not far from work and just go home during lunch break. Ukraine people also state that eating casual or fast foods daily is not healthy since most of the meals in the restaurants are deep fried and can be a problem to your health if daily consumed (Yunus, Zulkeflee, Razak, & Ilias, 2013). Now about position of Fast Casual restaurants compare to Fast Food restaurants. A fast-casual restaurant is a new concept in the restaurant industry. It combines concepts from the fast-food and full-service casual dining restaurants. Some famous fast-casual restaurants include Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), Panera Bread (PNRA), Noodles & Company (NDLS), Potbelly Sandwich Works (PBPB), and Subway.
Several restaurants are focusing on changing their restaurants’ images by remodeling their existing stores. Burger King (BKW), for example, has a goal to remodel about 40% of its U.S. and Canadian market restaurants by the end of 2015. According to the company, its already re-imaged stores have boosted sales by 10% to 15%

Fast food has turned into a genuine fundamental of our everyday life and made a religion of establishments that reaches out to the millions of Americans across the country. The Fast Food industry in a few eyes has been one of the sharpest developments this world has seen. It has been driven by our stomachs and our wallets for 40 to 50 years it's as yet developing to this date. The man who make-believe it can be known as the best representative, this nation has ever observed. The Fast Food Industry is big to the point that it has influenced our wellbeing, changed our way of life, and misshaped our territory as far back as the very first moment.
The study begins by explaining how much the residents of Gourmand love good food. They love food so much that that over time, a commission of distinguished chefs had decided that not any one should be capable of opening up a restaurant. If a restaurant was to be open, a chef would have to have 21 years of training, attend a prestigious school, and obtain a license to become a chef. These guidelines would ensure that when a resident would go to a restaurant, the food would be good. The first-class quality of food consequently rose the prices of restaurant meals to become very expensive.
Chick-fil-A is one of the most successful fast food restaurant establishments in the country. With over 1,300 locations in 37 states in the Southern U.S., they continue to grow the brand by expanding to new territories (Chick-fil-A Company, 2009, para 1). In 2008 Chick-fil-A has seen a 12.17 percent sales increase over the chain’s 2007 performance and a same store sale increase of 4.59 percent (Chick-fil-A Company, 2009, para1). Like fast food, fast casual is typically ordered on a counter and offers no table service. The atmosphere is generally a little bit more upscale with a simple look, which can include plates or cutlery. Food is usually prepared with mass-produced food items, however considered to be higher-quality and often locally sourced with a wider selection of healthy options. The menu is the same from location to location and mostly inexpensive.
The fast food, or quick service restaurant industry (QSR), represents approximately 200,000 restaurants and $155 billion in sales in the U.S. alone, they are one of the largest segments of the food industry (Hoovers, 2011). This segment of the restaurant industry is “highly competitive and fragmented… number, size and strength of competitors vary by region, market and even restaurant. All of these restaurants compete based on a number of factors, including taste, quality, speed of service, price and value, name recognition, restaurant location, customer service and the ambience and condition of each restaurant” (Chipotle, 2010).
The fast food industry has been growing dramatically during the last few years. For this reason, we should try to find out what are the several factors why fast food consumption keeps growing among young people and adults. Therefore, as we have seen, the popularity of fast food is spreading rapidly among many people due to the following three main reasons: good taste, convenient time, and price. Personally, working for a fast food restaurant for a brief moment in my life, I can attest to this. Marketing also plays a big part to more people eating fast food. It’s in our culture in America to expect fast food companies to market and strategize their ways to make us, the consumers, to buy more food and consume more food so they can make more profit. The fast-food industry is changing everyday. There are new products being introduced in the market and new slogans being created. The companies in the fast-food industry will do their best to make the greater burger, and to make bigger and better fries.
Chipotle has categorized its restaurants as “fast-casual” dining. The dining experience is similar to that of fast food restaurants. The customer orders and pays at the counter; the real difference is made in the quality of the food. The food offered by Chipotle is of a higher quality than the food offered by McDonald’s, Burger King, or Taco Bell.

Notably, with technology advances, everything has become so easy and fast such that we all want every other aspect of our lives to assume a similar concept, and fortunately, the fast food restaurants provide a suitable means of satisfying our hungry stomachs as fast and easy as possible. Surprisingly, most people have adapted a lifestyle that incorporates fast food chains as an important element. For instance, instead of making coffee at home in the morning, I buy coffee on my way to college, for lunch, I buy a sandwich or hamburger from a food truck, and in the evening after a tiring exhaustive day, I order pizza for supper from Pizza Hut. Arguably, food take-outs are part my daily routine, which serves the purpose efficiently but barely sufficiently.
The paper presents an analysis of the different factors influencing the restaurant industry and how these factors increase or decrease the demand for such services. The hypothesis that will be examined is that the performance of restaurants is mostly based on the type of food chosen by customers when they decide to go out for dinner, lunch, breakfast, or simply for a snack. What type of food refers mainly the nationality or concept of the food, (traditional American, Italian, Indian, Latin, or from any other type of culture). This factor is important because when customers go out to for dinner; they decide what to eat before deciding where to eat. That is why this factor is considerably important according to the hypothesis.
