Since you have moved much has changed. Exciting modifications have transpired during past year. Events including youth group, orchestra, and my own personal interests have taken dramatic turns. Changes for the better and worse have been established. Youth group has altered noticeably only recently. Instead of Impact it is titled six7; similarly, they have changed their logo as well. Although I will constantly support youth group as a whole, I am having trouble adjusting to this change. Currently we are in a lesson series called “I Am.” It elaborates on topics about self-confidence. Pete does a wonderful job engaging the audience, which is an impressive feat. Our friends are doing fine. They are involved with multiple activities. This and youth group keeps them occupied. All in all, youth group has seen a multitude of wonderful and difficult times after you left. …show more content…
This includes Chamber Strings, or Honors Orchestra. Honors Orchestra was initiated at the beginning of the year. The difference between Honors and regular orchestra is that you need to try out for Honors. There are 13 members; three first violins, three second violins, four violas, two cellos, and one bass. I was fortunate to be placed as a second violin. My family is immensely proud. Our music this year is exhilarating. We are playing contemporary songs and multiple classics. I have practiced often only to find that the music is interestingly challenging. In addition, I have met numerous people due to the incoming seventh graders. Having doubled the size of our orchestra to a truly incredible size, the seventh graders are extraordinarily talented and enthusiastic. The orchestra program has, and still is, continuing to enhance and
A wise man once said, "Time takes it all, whether you want it to or not." I have always planned for the future then sometimes it's not as I expected it to be. I used to live in Raleigh, North Carolina and thought I would be there forever. I never really thought about moving as a result it didn’t bother me until one day. I was told we are moving to South Carolina, I honestly thought that it was the worst thing ever. Change may not be as bad as you might think it is. Who knows, you may like change better.
After reviewing my life, I have decided my life defining moment was when my family and I moved to Texas from Oklahoma. I consider this move my life changing moment because it changed so many things in my life. This move set the stage for an entirely new life for me. Moving six hours away from the only home I knew certainly called for many changes.
Moving has been a part of my life, but really it's just work, I like to think of it as a test, that I passed. After moving those five times I understood that, in life it's most important to work hard, every kid hears that but I experienced it, and I'm thankful for it. Without that I would've still made it through those three years, three high schools, and five houses, but it was a matter of making the best of it; or making it
There were four groupings: Strings (1st violins, 2d violins, violas, cellos, double basses), Woodwinds (2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons), Brass (2 French horns, 2 trumpets), and Percussion (2 timpani).
For the last few years, I have searched for the right curriculum that motivates me to better myself and my surroundings. Your school and staff has been helpful in guiding me through the process to join your program. My motivation to pursue a higher education has been paramount and your curriculum advisor makes me feel part of the family. Throughout my professional and
Then, incidentally, we moved again. My freshmen year of high school at Argyle had just concluded, and my dad decided that it was simply too expensive to live there. I met this decision with both apprehension and relief. He determined that we belonged in Mineola, Texas. Typically, I would have been miserable, but this time, I was thrilled. It was strange because I loved Argyle, yet I was so eager to leave. The longer I contemplated how this could be possible, I realized it was because I could not wait to meet new people, scenarios, and experiences. I was ready for my newest challenge.
I made so many new friends, found new places to visit, and I am a part of a Marching Band. If that is not a success, I do not know what is. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson. I should not be afraid to try new things. All through January of 2015, I was so scared to leave Connecticut and move to Jersey. I wanted to stay with my friends and I did not want to change anything. But after two years, I have realized that some change can actually be good. Now, I try to do as much as I can. Instead of being scared that something bad is going to happen to me, I should just go through with it and maybe it will turn out positively. You know what they say, You Only Live Once. That is why I think moving to Marlton was one of the biggest challenges I had to face in my
Orchestra- We do not offer any orchestra classes or programs in our entire district. The interest to bring an orchestra to our district has been discussed but we do not have any local vendors or stores within a 50-mile radius. We also do not have the funds for one currently.
Since these modifications were made by the Supreme Court some states that wanted to restore the death penalty incorporated them in their new death penalty laws. The Supreme Court did not demand that each of the alterations appear in the new laws. So, some of the new laws include discrepancies on the procedural modifications found in the Gregg decision. The ten-year suspension of executions that had started with the Jackson and Witherspoon decisions concluded on January 17, 1977, when Gary Gilmore was executed in Utah by firing squad. Gilmore did not contest the death sentence he was given. Following Gilmore’s execution, Oklahoma was the first state to use lethal injection as a manner of execution. Five years later Charles Brooks would be the
If orchestra was a sport, I would want to sign up ever year for it. Sadly it's not. I play a viola. A lot of people don't know what it is. I have been in orchestra for 3 years. I plan to stay in it until high school and if they have it in college I will sure joy that orchestra to. Also, I take private lessons, so I can get better at playing. It's really payed off. I have been first chair viola for all the concerts that we have done in 7th grade.
String section and basso continuo central to the orchestra. Other instruments are occasional additions. Standard group of four sections: strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. Different instruments treated individually.
changing my life, but retreating from them as March approaches. But I decided to carry
I've been in an Orchestra since I was 9 or 10. It's been my dream ever since I went to my 4 grade teachers concert. After that year, I was going to be a star! Or so I thought. It's harder than I thought. I always wondered what it would feel like to hold a little piece of wood on my shoulder and a piece of horse hair in my hand. Oh was I so terriblely wrong. Don't take it the wrong way, it's the best decision I've ever made. It has changed my life for the better. It's my ticket to freedom. But it's way more complicated than that. There's a certain way you have to sit, hold an instrument and how to play. My current teacher told the Orchestra that we needed to be hurting and tired after the first song. If your not, then your doing something wrong.
The teacher asks the students to divide in groups and of 2 or 3 and elicits that each group is a musical orchestra that uses different materials for their instruments, such as vegetables, old office materials, fruit or things they can find in nature. Each group will have to decide on its name, style of music, instruments and activities. What kind of songs they have and some history that they can imagine. After this they will have about 5-6 minutes to prepare and then they will have to introduce themselves to the rest of the class. Afterwards the class will vote which musical band might get in the leading positions of the radio charts.
As a result of moving to a new town, making new friends, and living a different life style I have been shaped in to the person I am today. I wouldn’t have asked for any better way to grow up as a kid. I’ve learned so much about myself that I probably wouldn’t have if I still lived in Apple Valley. I’ve experienced new activities, such as hunting and hiking, and have made new friendships. I feel as if I have changed for the better and grew up into a great person. I believe that this all happened for a reason and I am so happy that I’ve been able to
