New Member Periods Less than 6 Weeks: If your school requires the new member period to be less than six weeks, you should immediately contact your adviser and Programming Specialist to discuss the appropriate schedule if you don’t already have one. It is a requirement that all of our new members complete all areas of the New Member Experience. However, given that our New Member Experience is more than just Formal Pledging, we have some flexibility. Our recommendation is that you present the following key areas of EME programming, in-person meetings and online course work during the formal pledging period. This may require multiple meetings per week to ensure they are completed. • Fraternity Education • Finance • Risk Management

The New Member Chairman is responsible for scheduling and planning two additional New Member Experience meetings to further develop and build relationships with the newly initiated members.
These meetings should be scheduled in the semester following Initiation and before the end of their first year of membership with Kappa Kappa Gamma. Ideas for these meetings can be found in the appendix. These meetings should meet the following goals. 1. Build a strong sense of sisterhood. 2. Touch base to find out how the New Member Experience is going. 3. Address any questions. Big Sisters/Little Sisters Each chapter plans, organizes and reveals their big sister and little sister pairings at different times and in different ways. The current six-week and eight-week schedules outlines that interested big sisters and little sisters will indicate their selections for pairings during the fourth week of the New Member Experience. The big sister and little sister pairings are then revealed during the fifth week. Please note that while this is the recommended timeline, Kappa recognizes that each chapter is unique and will implement this experience a little differently. In regards to the big sister and little sister experience, please make sure to adhere to the following guidelines. • Preference should always go to the little sister’s first choice whenever possible. • Members wishing to be a
From a time when achievement was rare, and succeeding among minority was minuscule, a sense of order was needed. During this time Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated came into the world, bringing core values and achievement. Within the five objectives Kappa Alpha Psi showcases the distinction of itself from other fraternities. The founding fathers had the desire to shape a unique group personality different from the other greek letter college organizations, around the idea of achievement. When achievement was mainly concerned with improvement of personal status, security, and meeting the demands of everyday living the founders of the fraternity envisioned something bigger. Thus bringing about the Five Objectives that men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated live by and exemplify on a day to day basis showcasing Achievement in every field of human endeavor.
Chapter events must be planned with respect for the academic responsibilities of each member and must follow Risk Management Procedures. All planning must be in accordance with current Fraternity Bylaws, Standing Rules and Policies and local, state/provincial, and federal laws.
Members of Omega Sigma, Houston Community College’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, hosted their first general meeting of the fall semester on Sept 4 at the West Loop campus.
Last semester, when I was inducted there were over 100 new students inducted into Phi Theta Kappa however, at the meetings very few people showed up, so since we have decided to add committees I think there should be a committee leader at each IRSC location because some of the students that are inducted may not be able to make it to main campus for these meetings, so by having a Phi Theta Kappa committee leader at each location the students who are unable to make it can still be kept up to date with what is going on in our meetings this way we increase the number of active members in our chapter. Also, this semester we had students at all of our campuses pledge to graduate by committing to the C4 challenge and I would like to take this a step further by providing those students who may be struggling, or feel like they won’t be able to graduate with the necessary help they need. At the Florida
Thank you for your support of Kappa Kappa Gamma. On behalf of Fraternity Council, I am writing to share an update regarding Zeta Eta Chapter at the University of California, Irvine.
The film Rookie is a factual drama that is based on the life of Jimmy Morris, an ex-major league baseball player. The subject matter of the movie was to never quit; try, try again or at least until you reach your goal. This film inspires the person to fulfill their dreams no matter how impossible they may seem.

We are going to go over the agenda that has been planned for today’s workshop. •
Kappa Theta is known on campus for doing a yearly Fireman’s Challenge that generates the bulk of their philanthropic efforts and most recently creating the PIKE Club, which is a program where brothers of Kappa Theta will play basketball every week with students with disabilities on campus, which has tremendous participation. However, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life would like to see two major philanthropic efforts every year (one per semester). There has not been an effective transition so the chairmen are essentially recreating the position every year. In order to be most effective I would recommend the following:
Kappa will sponsor one student to attend. The selected participant will join Beth Black, Fraternity President, and Pris Gerde, former Fraternity President, in Washington, D.C., April 24–27, 2017. Applications are due by 5 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016.
Chapter events must be planned with respect for the academic responsibilities of each member and must follow Risk Management Procedures. All planning must be in accordance with current Fraternity Bylaws, Standing Rules and Policies and local, state/provincial, and federal laws.
Section 3, continued 5. Criteria for chartering: To include minimum number of students pledged to establish a secure colony For our new chapter at Illinois State University, it is our goal to have a charter class of 145 members and average chapter size within one year of establishment. We are proud to say every new chapter has gone on to be installed. The expectations for the new chapter at ISU mirror the expectations Kappa Kappa Gamma has for each chapter. From the moment the new chapter is established, we expect the charter members to uphold the values and mission of our organization. All charter members will be expected to complete the New Member Experience in order to be Initiated. This is the same requirement for all new members
Fraternity Council and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Board of Trustees will use the data from this survey to guide our strategic planning, improve our communication with members and prioritize organizational initiatives.
The chapter members were significantly impacted by the Omicron Tau chapter by the useful information and resources provided to them. The Chapter Advisor team aided in the coordination of significant events that lead to the personal development of the members. As a chapter, Omicron Tau was consistently keeping members updated on the latest volunteering opportunities, scholarships and upcoming events. The implementation of this information into meetings and e-mails successfully reached out to students which allow them to improve themselves and become more involved in the honor society. The Advisor Team was present in meetings to further inform students if there was any issue or a student wanted to seek further information with a staff member. Keeping members informed on relevant information to their personal and career growth further developed the connection between Phi Theta Kappa and its
In the past when an employee was hired, onboarding consisted of filling out paperwork for Human Resources and selecting insurance options. In today’s dynamic workplace environment, effective onboarding is important to get employees up to speed and productive at a much faster pace while ensuring the new hire is happy and satisfied in their new position. Tools such as onboarding checklists and on-line forms are the norm. Effective on-boarding is a process that is beneficial to the employer and the employee.
