Dta Lab Reflection

I excited that teaching in the DPP is about to become reality. Daniel and I have enjoyed meeting everyone over the past 3 months. I know Ms. Yates preferred Monday or Tuesday evening. I am going to contact Morgan Kirkland today about April’s Class zero or setting up another meeting time. I will send any updates I get from Ms. Kirkland.

The beginning of this class coincides with the beginning of my assigning graded work to the students in my class. As I began to express the importance of vocabulary to the students in my class, it dawned on me that I must meet the same expectation in my course.

Last year, I set the goal that I wanted to pass the 2017 AP Studio Art 2-D: Design Exam. I wanted to prove my art ability. For the portfolio, I had to create 12 pieces that demonstrated a theme and 12 pieces that show experimentation. Sadly, I needed 6 pieces still. For a week before the exam, I worked on the other pieces everyday. Drawing, then adding Ink, then adding white out, then adding cutouts. The night before, I stayed up until 4am to finish. I was able to successfully finish my portfolio and I received a 5 on it. This year I submitted an application for the YoungArts competition and I hope to become a finalist.

Education has always been a key importance in my life, but I have had some challenges along the way. In August of 2013, I injured my left ankle, while at work and I would have never imagined the long road I would have ahead of me and how it would take a toll on my education. When I originally injured my ankle, I was told that it was just a simple sprain, that ended up not being the case to any extent. I was transferred from doctor to doctor to doctor, each one telling me something different, and each one being wrong about their diagnosis. The second physician I saw, but my first ankle specialist, repeatedly told me that he felt that I was lying about my injury and was only looking to get attention. This took a strong emotional toll on me, repeatedly being told that they could not

I am the founder and president of the SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Chapter at my school, and I've helped create SADD chapters at other middle and high schools in multiple school districts. Currently, there are about 40 students in my SADD chapter. I started my SADD group my freshman year, so I have been involved with my SADD group for almost three years now.

A few months into this program, I fell flat on my face. I had been doing well juggling the ever-growing list of assignments, until we were assigned Lab Report #1. The science concepts went over my head, resulting in false information as well as a poorly written, list-like paper with many mechanical errors and no flow. Once I received the rubric in my mailbox, I was completely devastated and disappointed in myself, this was the first time I failed. In that moment, I decided to rebound from this and not let it define my year, so I met with Mr. Mercurio and rewrote it, most of it from scratch. The doctor of nursing practice (DNP) professional, regarding care of the general population, must consider many situations that may alter the delivery of effective medical treatments. In the beginning of this class we reviewed many of those situations with greater focus on the vulnerability populations. Preventive care remains by far the best interventions for this group. The prepared DNP professional must be ready to assess and address effectively epidemiology and health as well as facilitating evidence-based further development of healthier people priority tasks.

Its great to be back again for the fourth (and last) of the TMAs of this module.

For the most part I enjoyed my time spent in that course. I definitely plan on attending future screenings, as a community member. However, I do feel that the course has some room for improvement. My first suggestion would be opening to the public at a later time because it was distracting having other people in the room, holding conversations, while you were giving us feedback or instructions on assignments. Another suggestion would be possibly providing your students with examples of “A” worthy reflections because half of the time did not know what you were expecting of us and anything that came to mind while writing these critiques sounded like a research paper. This Friday, September 29th, I had my second clinical observation experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab. I was there from 7:00 a.m. till noon, viewing the flow and duties of the nursing staff on the unit, learning about the procedures done on this specialized unit. Throughout most of the morning I followed Sara, an RN, who had been in the unit for eight years. It was an impressive experience that broadened my previously limited knowledge of the roles and experience of a Cath Lab nurse.

I am interested in the BSCI440 UTA position because not only does it provide a chance for me to aid and interact with peers of similar interests, but it also grants me an opportunity to re-immerse myself in the wonderful environment created by the class. Since taking the course, I’ve been fascinated by the workings of the human body, and becoming a UTA would allow me to re-examine the course material from a more educated and experienced perspective, while discussing it with the esteemed and knowledgeable Dr. Opoku, and with highly qualified and intelligent colleagues. To explore the nuances and details of this material, and to convey them, alongside my passion for the subject, to the students seems to me a truly worthwhile endeavor.

The activities in which I helped were varied, such as helping teachers to check students' classwork, clarifying students' assignments based on grades A through F, and then arching them into students' folders. I also contributed in the ESOL department. What is ESOL? ESOL - (English for Speakers of Other Languages). I helped the students who are in this program because they do not know the English language and for that reason is harder for them everything. I was trying to help them the best I could, like to do tasks like Reading plus a program to learn English. In the same department of ESOL; I was answering the phone calls among other things. The past two weeks of dissection have been very valuable learning opportunities and extremely enjoyable. Dr Molyneux and the demonstrators were so helpful and caring; I felt they truly made a difference to how much I understood from this dissection experience. As well as this, I feel very privileged to have been given this opportunity to dissect a human body and would like to thank the individual who kindly donated their body for this purpose.
