Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated purpose is to be of service to all mankind dealing with critical issues in communities domestically and internationally. What I have grown to understand an envision a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to be, I accredit largely to the ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter. As an important part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma community, we are reaching out to provide you with information about the temporary suspension of chapter operations of Beta Mu Chapter at the University of Colorado Boulder. I will assess whether the United States satisfies the democratic criteria of voting equality and enlightened understanding. For the criterion of voting equality to be met, members of a country must have equal and fair opportunity to vote, and all votes must be equal in weight (Dahl, 1989). To assess this criterion, I will look at American voter turnout rates, voting requirements, and restrictions. These indicators will show whether or not citizens truly have an equal and fair opportunity to vote. The fulfillment of enlightened understanding ensures that members have equal opportunities to learn about policies and what they entail (Dahl, 1989). In order to assess this criterion, I will

Politicians seem to do everything in their power to take away your vote in order to amplify their own vote, and this was exemplified in the presidential election of 2002 because, as a result of many factors, George W. Bush’s victory against Al Gore in 2002 was not legitimate. For example, the lack of aid provided by government officials to disadvantaged communities such as the poor or the elderly, who tend to vote more liberal, influenced the voting process. Other significant factors also include the unfair policies created by legislators that worked against similar groups. In a race as close as the 2002 presidential election, in which Bush led by less than half of one percent, every vote should count. However, the
